SERIES POWER & PERFORMANCE At 2.6 liters of displacement, the Evinrude E-TEC offers best-in-class torque and low-end power, and can easily compete and excel against any and all competitors, even the latest 4-stroke outboard offerings! One of the most significant benefits of Evinrude E-TEC technology is increased fuel economy and extended boating range. Performance testing has shown that the new Evinrude E-TEC can deliver as much as a 40 % improvement in fuel economy when compared to older, carbureted 2-stroke engines, and as much as three times better fuel economy at idle speeds when compared to competitive 4-stroke models. MORE LOW-END TORQUE Thanks to a 2-stroke design, the new Evinrude E-TEC develops more low and midrange torque, making twice as many power strokes as a comparable 4-stroke engine, 16% more torque than a Mercury 4-stroke and an amazing 34% more than a Yamaha 4-stroke. That translates to nearly 30 more horsepower in the midrange. This is significantly important when planning heavy loads, operating at higher altitudes or hot weather. However, the new Evinrude E-TEC is available in a 25 counter rotation configuration (model E135HCX), providing you improved boat handling, reduced steering torque and less boat listing in adverse wind or loading conditions. CLEAN TECHNOLOGY The new Evinrude E-TEC provides not only maximum power output, but also has a 3-Star CARB clean emission rating. This is due to the Evinrude E-TEC design and 2-stroke DI fuel delivery system which is unique to Evinrude E-TEC. It provides the cleanest, most powerful, fuel efficient engine that is available today. STRATIFIED COMBUSTION PROCESS The advanced form of direct fuel injection found in the Evinrude E-TEC features stratified combustion. At idle and slow speeds, the engine s computer uses just a small portion of each cylinder in the combustion process to provide superior fuel efficiency and ultra-low emissions. True High Output Alternator Mercury, Yamaha and others claim high alternator output, but they fall far short of what the Evinrude E-TEC technology delivers. With more than twice the total output of the nearest competitor, the Evinrude E-TEC models deliver the electrical power to run all of today s onboard electronics. This Magneto alternator system is designed to deliver this power where and when you need it, from dead idle all the way to WOT. AMPS* 100 PERFORMANCE-TUNED EMM Designed to maximize performance, all H.O. models feature a specially tuned EMM (Engine Management Module) that controls ignition timing and fuel injection duration for more power and speed while optimizing fuel efficiency. LIGHTNING GEARCASE All 20 Evinrude E-TEC models feature the same High Speed (1.86:1 ratio) Lightning Gearcase that the 150 H.O. offers. This compact, hydrodynamically efficient gear case has bullet shaped nosecone and narrow profile for maximum performance on bass boats and other performance minded application. POWER STROKE EVERY REVOLUTION When compared to competitive 4-stroke engines, the Evinrude E-TEC develops twice as many power strokes. That means more low-end torque for quicker hole shots and more power to plane a heavy load or pull a skier out of the water. AIR INLET An advanced air-intake design located on the rear of the engine cover keeps water out while providing more airflow to the engine for increased performance and more top-end speed. NAGEL HONE The new Evinrude E-TEC features a highly advanced cylinder honing process based on the Nagel Hone that improves cylinder wall geometry, making the cylinder bore more true to design specification.
