Typical Application of EBG Power Resistors EBG power resistors are frequently used as snubbers in electrical systems with an inductive load where the sudden interruption of current flow leads to a sharp rise in voltage across the current switching device. This voltage peak may damage or destroy the switching device. The snubber resistor provides a parallel circuit path to the switching element with the function to eliminate voltage / current peaks to protect the switching device. 20
