The Pursuit of Excellence PKY TRUCK BEAUTY CHAMPIONSHIP Now entering its 26th year the PKY Truck Beauty Championship starts the show truck season with the largest grouping of show trucks in the country, all vying for honors in the country s premier truck beauty show. If you are pursuing excellence, don t miss the 2015 Paul K. Young Truck Beauty Championship! This event, held annually in Louisville, KY at the Mid-America Trucking Show, not only kicks off the truck show season, but it defines who will be the ones to beat and what will be cool all year. We always look forward to attending this event every year, anxious to see what crazy ideas the truckers have come up with and incorporated into their rigs (and to find future cover trucks). The Pursuit of Excellence SHOW TRUCK EVENTS RULES READ THESE RULES CAREFULLY THEY APPLY TO EVERYONE If you have any problems please contact a member of the show management and let us resolve it together. We hope you have a great time. These rules are intended to insure a safe, fair, fun-filled show and must be adhered to by all entrants and friends. 1. Show Management is the final authority. 2. All trucks must stay on the show lot until the main show has ended. We are part of the main show and therefore we need to be on display until that time. 3. All entries must be verifiable legal working trucks by the individual entering the truck, licensed with a current safety inspection and registered to haul freight, unless entered in a non-working class. Working trucks must run a minimum average of 6,250 miles per month (75,000 miles per year). Trucks with less than 75,000 miles/yr will be entered in an appropriate class during the registration check-in process. Proof of mileage, such as quarterly fuel tax reporting forms, fuel tax receipts or 1099s for drivers, may be required. Odometers must be in good working order. All entrants must be able to prove their mileage with odometer reading or supporting documents. Verbal explanations will not be adequate. 3a. NEW TRUCKS UNDER 75,000 MILES & LESS THAN 12 MONTHS OLD: Will compete as a main class in the working division, but will not be eligible for Best of Show awards, or the truck can enter the LIMITED MILEAGE division. 3b. A Limited Mileage truck is defined as: A class 8 truck of any type and age that has met DOT requirements for commercial trucks, but does not have enough working miles to be defined as a working truck under the mileage rule, #3. A truck that cannot meet DOT requirements will be entered in an appropriate class during the registration check-in process. 4. When competing in a working class, the truck must be ready to turn the key and drive away. That means no jack stands and no loose pieces of stainless. Bumpers, spring covers and other drop-on pieces must be attached prior to your arrival on the show lot and your truck must leave with the same equipment. 5. If you compete as a Combination in a working class, the trailer must also work year-round. There will be an automatic 3-point deduction taken on trailers that have not run enough miles to meet working status see rule #3. 6. If entered in the lights class, all lights must be in working order and run off the truck s power supply. No outside power sources may be used. 7. For those sleeping in their trucks, on-board, auxiliary generators may only be run outside of show hours, and if they do not infringe on others with fumes or noise. 8. If deemed appropriate, show management reserves the right to adjust classes. Generally, there must be at least 3 entries to make a class. 9. To compete for WORKING TRUCK BEST OF SHOW the truck must be entered in: one main class, the engine class, and one interior class. Points earned in the other special feature classes and lights classes will not be included in the overall point total. In LIMITED MILEAGE classes, the entire truck is judged including lights and the high point trucks win LIMITED MILEAGE BEST OF SHOW. CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE >>>
