4 Schüco steel systems Jansen VISS Fire Fire-resistant façades Fire protection is a very sensitive area. Schüco steel systems Jansen have developed VISS Fire a modular, fully insulated façade construction for universal use. The VISS Fire systems are now fully approved for all Philharmonic Concert Hall, Essen/DE VISS Fire (slope) security classes of integrity and insulation up to 120 minutes both as curtain walling and as a partition wall system. Skylights allow integrity and insulation up to 60 minutes in the fire resistance class. The mullion/transom construction with a slender face width of 50 mm also provides a number of design options. Basic depths from 50 to 140 mm allow a wide range of structural solutions for the design of façade units over more than one storey, up to 5000 mm high and with unlimited width. The many alternatives give the designer the necessary freedom to create attractive large areas of glazing. All standard profiles, design variations and the Personal Profiles are available. The installation of single and double-leaf Janisol 2 and Janisol 3 doors allows an identical look for different sections of a building with different applications. 6 Schüco steel systems Jansen Jansen-Economy Fire protection systems Smoke/fire doors and closers are designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke. Jansen-Economy 50 and Jansen- Economy 60 allow transparent building components to be manufactured economically as single or double-leaf doors, with side lights and/or toplights or as a partition wall. The profile system enables the fabrication of flush-fitted doors with continuous shadow joint inside and outside. In the event of fire, a low flammability double rebate gasket guarantees a secure closure. The tailored range of fittings includes locks, strike plates, electric strikes, door handles and specially developed 3D weld-on hinges. 8 Schüco steel systems Jansen Janisol 2 Fire protection system A thermally broken profile system for flush-fitted, single and double-leaf doors, and doors in glass walls. The basic depth for door frames and door leaves is just 60 mm. Profiles with face widths of 25 mm and 50 mm can be used for mullions and transoms. A continuous shadow joint inside and outside lends the construction a certain lightness and elegance with extremely narrow profile face widths. Different brands of fireresistant glass can be used as infill panels. A comprehensive range of fully tested fittings, locks, accessories and integrated door closers (ITS 96) is also available. These can be incorporated easily into the hollow profile section. The appearance is co-ordinated to match that of all the other Jansen door systems. Janisol 2 has numerous approval variants. It is constantly being improved with input from users, and the approvals are continually updated. Please check approval status for individual projects with our technical consultancy service. CWCT standards are, in fact, more stringent than those of EN and include a static-dynamic test using an aeroplane propeller. The CWCT test certificate is increasingly expected for all types of façade in England and is recognised internationally as a quality standard. Especially in Hong Kong and China, where wind loads on façades of over 300 kg/m 2 are not uncommon. Jansen-VISS is a profile system for thermally insulated façades, which also meets fire protection requirements. The mullion/ transom construction, based on the dry glazing principle, was tested for face widths of 50 and 60 mm and VISS Fire (fire protection) with three different T-cleats. The test result clearly demonstrates the ability of the fully insulated steel system to withstand extreme weather conditions.
