The pump shaft is sealed by mechanical sealing, built acc. to DIN 24960. 2. DESIGN Low-pressure screw pumps are designed for operation with different working fluids, such as: hydraulic oils, lubricating oils, transformer oils, light and heavy diesel oils, fuel oils and other non-aggressive fluids of lubrication properties. Working fluids cannot cause corrosion of steel and cast iron elements and they cannot react with fluorine and nitrile rubber. umps are used in systems: - lubricating of machines, - filtration and cooling of hydraulic systems, - preheating of diesel and fuel oils and supplying by those oils, - pumping oils in refineries, ports and fuel stations.

TECHNICAL DESCRITION OF AB UM ump structure Working elements of screw pumps are mutually gearing screws the middle screw 1 and two side screws 2, placed in sleeves 3.Sleeves and connector 4 are the pump insert. Screws on their circuit mate with holes in the sleeves, which for screws are crosswise sliding bearings. The middle screw is additionally placed perpendicularly on the rolling bearing 5 located on the ends of pump insert. The output of middle screw s end from the pump cover 6 is sealed by mechanical seal 7. The pump insert is fitted in the pump body 8. The pump is equipped with adjustable safety valve 9. rinciple of pump operation Discharge in screw pumps is called by rotational screw motion, where the middle screw is driven from outside and side screws are driven by middle screw. During screws rotation, coil surfaces of gearing screw adhere either to each other or to the body, ensuring tightness of space between coils. That space, of not changed shape and volume, is being filled by fluid on the suction side and is being displaced during screws rotation together with gathered fluid along axle of screws in the direction of discharge. The pump work ensures: the uniform flow, silent- running work without vibrations, big suction capability.

Discharge pressure Maximal discharge pressure of fluid amounts to 1,0, at the same time maximal pressure for viscosity of fluid below 20 cst must be lowered to value acc. to the table: Viscosity cst 20 12 7 2 Max. discharge pressure 1,0 0,9 0,6 0,4 ressure on suction side Maximal pressure on suction side can amount to 0,25. Minimal pressure on suction side (suction pump capability) is shown in tables on pages 8, 9 and 10. Suction pump capability increases together with lowering of fluid viscosity and pump speed. For fluid viscosity above 750 cst, the minimal fluid pressure of suction should be consulted with the manufacturer. When pump works, pressure on suction side cannot exceed discharge pressure. In case of pumping heated oils the following pressure on pump suction side acc. to the table is required: Temperature 0 C 80 90 Suction pressure 0,03 0,05 Fluid temperature Admissible fluid temperature: -10 O C 90 O C. Viscosity Admissible fluid viscosity: 2 cst 1500 cst. Speed and direction of rotation Maximal speed of pump is equal to 1800 rpm (30 rps). Screw pumps are designed for work in one rotation direction - left (counter - clockwise) looking from the shaft drive. page 4/11 KKA-11130/04.99 Screw ump AB Flow and power Flow and power in the function of pump speed, discharge pressure and viscosity are shown in tables on pages 8, 9 and 10. Flows shown in the tables concern fluid without vapour and gas. For fluid viscosity above 750 cst flow and power should be consulted with the manufacturer. For indirect values of pump speed, discharge pressure and viscosity (including the range from table), values of flow, power and pump suction capability can be settled by line interpolation between adjacent values in tables. Safety valve The pump is equipped with safety valve direct operation, which limits the increase discharge pressure above the set value. umps have two opening adjustment ranges of safety valve: - from 0,2 to 0,4, - from 0,2 to 1,15, at the same time the admissible discharge pressure is equal to 1,0. Opening pressure of safety valve should be from 10 to 15% higher than discharge pressure. At full flow capacity through safety valve, pressure increases maximally of 0,3, at viscosity up to 75cSt. For higher viscosity of fluid pressure will increase. It is not allowed the continuos work of pump at open safety valve, as the fluid temperature increase inside he pump above the permissible temperature can damage the pump. Filtration and suction pipeline In order to protect the pump against contamination it is recommended to install filter on the pump s suction pipeline. Recommended diameters of holes in filter s grid up to 1mm for fluid of high viscosity. For fluids of lower viscosity filters of smaller holes in the grid should be used. It is recommended not to exceed the pressure decrease of 0,01 on the filter at maximal flow and viscosity. The suction pipeline together with filter should b so selected as for the most hard work conditions, pressure decrease in the pipeline an on the filter does not cause the lack of pump suction capability That pipeline should be constructed in such way as to unable draining fluid from the pump to tank during its stay. Materials of important elements ump denomination Element: - body - pump cover - sleeve - middle screw - side screw Bearing Shaft sealing Material: grey iron grey iron grey iron steel steel 1) AB sliding mechanical sealing Top layer is quenched and tempered chemically. ump unit The pump unit consists of screw pump and electric motor, which are fitted by flanges to the common connecting frame, and the electric motor is placed above the pump; the pump unit is mounted to the bed plate by the pump base. Ends of pump shaft and motor connect the flexible coupling, not loading the pump shaft and motor by axial and radial forces. There are allowed other types of fitting pumps with electric motors or other types of drive motors, but the end of pump shaft cannot be loaded by radial and axial forces. Dimensions of pumps and chosen pump units are shown in tables on pages 6 and 7.

ORDERING EXAMLE The pump ordering In an order of pump there should be given: - the name: Screw pump, - the denomination: - acc. to it. 5, - no. of cat. card: KKA-11130/04.99, the example: Screw ump AB 110-3L4C4 acc. to KKA-11130/04.99 The pump application for work with other kinds of fluid as mentioned in the fluid denomination and operation conditions should be agreed with the manufacturer. The pump unit ordering In an order of pump unit there should be determined: -type of pump, kind of fluid, operation parameters (max. discharge pressure, viscosity of pumping fluid in the temperature function, minimal and maximal temperature of working fluid, required flow at the same viscosity of fluid as for continuos work and maximal pressure on discharge and suction side), -size of electric motor from the catalogue of electric motors, supply (voltage and frequency), exploitation requirements (e.g. land, sea or anti-explosive execution, temperature class, isolation class) and other additional requirements. It is also possible the execution: - pump with flanges connecting pipelines, - pump with connecting frame, coupling without electric motor, - pump with the receipt of Classification Societies, after agreement with the manufacturer.
