Master Slave Converter [002-1590-00-115 VAC & 002-1590-01 230 VAC] Contents: Installation...1 Wire Diagram...4 Exploded View...6 Intended Use: To provide simultaneous operation of up to five Midmark compressors connected to a common operatory air supply line. Note: Low voltage control is required on the designated master compressor only. Language of origin: English Step 1: Install power supply. A) Select which compressor will be the master. Midmark recommends the compressor with the least amount of run hours should be the master. B) Verify voltage on master compressor matches voltage on master slave converter box. Refer to wire diagrams in this manual. C) Shut off main power supply to all compressors. D) Mount master slave converter box if desired. E) Remove compressor electrical box cover. F) Drill 13/16 hole on left side of compressor electrical box. G) Install conduit through 13/16 hole and connect to one of the on/off switches in the compressor electrical box as shown. H) Connect ground wire to ground screw in compressor electrical box. I) Install compressor electrical box cover. Note: If mounting master box is desired, mount box close enough to the compressor electrical boxes for cables and power supply conduit will reach connections. Mounting screws are not included. Low Voltage Wires on Back of Compressor Control Box Step 2: Install slave cables to all slave compressors. A) Remove wire nut from low voltage wires on back of compressor electrical box. B) Connect one master slave converter box cable to low voltage wires, Red to Red and Black to Blue. C) Repeat A) and B) for each compressor your connecting to the master slave converter box. D) Install a wire nut on each master slave converter box cable wire not being used. E) Turn main power supply on for each compressor. Note: Master compressor will be the only one that stays connected to remote switch (Master Control Panel) in operatory. Slave Cable from Master Slave Converter Box English-2
Step 3: Adjust slave compressor pressure switches. A) Adjust pressure switches in the slave compressors, not the master compressor, to ensure the switch stays closed through cycle. Midmark Brands... B) Remove pressure switch cover. C) Turn adjustment nut clockwise until switch stays closed through cycle. D) Install pressure switch cover. E) Restore power to compressors. Note: The master compressor is the one you connected the master slave converter conduit power supply to in step 1.
