Preparation. a. Verify that the Short Pin is installed. If not install now. Page 5 of 40

2. Hood Switch Installation. a. b. Place the Vehicle in Park with the Parking Brake set. Disconnect the Negative Battery Terminal. Note the Battery Cable Position as it will be re-installed in the same position. CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive Terminal. c. Remove the Vehicle s Engine Cover. Remove 6 Clips. d. Dislodge the Hood Latch Assembly. Remove 3 Bolts. Page 6 of 40

e. Remove the Hood Latch Cable from the Hood Latch. Make sure to hold the Hood Switch by its sides. Make sure the Hood Switch Lever is positioned properly. If the Hood Switch is Broken RES will not function. f. g. h. Release the Spring from the Hood Latch. Install the Hood Switch with the Switch Lever underneath the Hood Latch Trigger Lever. Reinstall the Spring to the Hood Latch. Page 7 of 40

i. j. Route the Hood Switch Sub-Harness as shown. Connect the Hood Switch Sub-Harness Connector to the Vehicle s Pre-Connector. k. l. Secure the 2P Connectors to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. Secure the Hood Switch Sub-Harness to the Bottom Hole of the Vehicle s Brace using 1 Wire Tie. m. n. Connect the Hood Switch 2P Connector to the Hood Switch Sub-Harness 2P Connector. Wrap the 2P Connectors with 1 Foam Tape. Page 8 of 40

o. Reinstall the Hood Latch Cable to the Hood Latch Assembly. p. Reinstall the Hood Latch Assembly. Position the Bottom Hood Lock mount behind the Vehicle Brace. NOTE: Make sure to Torque the Bolts to 70.8 in lbf (8.0 N m) in the specified order. q. r. Route the Hood Switch Harness underneath the Hood Latch Assembly. Secure the Hood Switch Harness to the Hood Latch Assembly with 1 Wire Tie. CAUTION: Make sure not to secure Hood Latch Cable with Hood Switch Harness. Page 9 of 40

3. Disassembly. a. Remove the Driver s Side Step Cover. Disengage front inner sill clip and front clip. Disengage rear inner sill clip and rear clip. Hold ends up keeping guide pins up and slide sill forward to disengage remaining clips. NOTE: Make sure to carefully follow steps above to avoid breaking sill plate clips. b. Remove Driver s Side Cowl Cover. c. Remove the Driver s Lower Dash Side Panel. Open the DTC Connector Cover. Page 10 of 40

d. Remove the Lower Steering Column Cover. Use a Flat Blade Jeweler s Screwdriver wrapped with Electrical Tape to release the clips. Insert the Key into the Ignition and turn it to on. Turn the Steering Wheel from Right to Left to access the Holes. Dislodge the back Clips on both sides. Release the Front Clips on both sides. e. Dislodge the Driver s Knee Airbag carefully. Remove 4 Bolts CAUTION: Do not disconnect the Airbag Connectors. f. Wrap the Airbag in a Blanket or the like and place it on top of the TVIP box. CAUTION: Position the Airbag as to Prevent stress on the Airbag Harness. Page 11 of 40

g. Remove the Center Cluster Panel. h. Remove the Driver s Side Audio Bracket. Remove 2 Bolts. IF EQUIPPED w/audio UNIT i. Remove the Audio Unit. Remove 4 Bolts. 4. V4 Harness Installation. (Steering Area and Driver s Side) a. V4 ONLY Secure the V4 Harness s White Tape Marker to the Vehicle Harness right next to the Harness Clamp with 1 Wire Tie. Page 12 of 40

b. Secure the 2P Connectors to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. Go to step n. V5/V4 ADD-ON ONLY c. d. Cut the Wire Tie securing the V5 8P Connectors. Cut 4 Wire Ties securing the V5 Harness. e. f. Disconnect the V5 8P Connector from the Vehicle s 8P IG Connector. Disconnect the Vehicle s 8P Connector from the V5 Harness s 8P Connector. g. Cut 2 Wire Ties securing the V5 Harness. h. Disconnect the V5 2P Connectors. Discard the V5 Male 2P Connector s Harness. Fig. 4-7 i. j. Remove the Tape securing the V4 2P Connector. Disconnect the 2P Connector from the V4 Harness. Discard the 2P Jumper Connector. Page 14 of 40

k. Connect the V4 Male 2P Connector to the V5 Female 2P Connector. l. Secure both the V4 and V5 Harness s White Tape Markers to the Vehicle Harness right next to the Harness Clamp using 1 Wire Tie. m. Secure the 2P Connectors to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. Page 15 of 40

n. Fully extend the Steering Wheel Column. Release the Tilt and Telescopic Lever. o. p. Route the V4 Harness s 8P Connectors towards the Steering Column Area. Secure the V4 Harness to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. CAUTION: Make sure the V4 Harness is not placed between the Vehicle Harness and the Steering Motor. Page 16 of 40

q. Disconnect the Vehicle s 8P IG Connector. r. Plug the V4 8P Connectors in between the Vehicle s 8P Connectors. s. Secure the 8P Connectors to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. Bundle up the 8P Connector and Harness as shown. CAUTION: Make sure not to include the Yellow Airbag Wires when securing the 8P Connectors. Page 17 of 40

t. Secure the V4 Harness to the Vehicle Harness with 3 Wire Ties. NOTE: Place the V4 Harness parallel to the Vehicle Harness. u. Disconnect the Vehicle s 1P Pre-Connector located on the right side of the Junction Box. v. Connect the V4 Harness s 1P Connectors in between the Vehicle s 1P Connectors. Page 18 of 40

w. x. Secure the 1P Connectors and Relay to the Vehicle Harness with 2 Wire Ties. V4 Relay should be secured to the Vehicle Harness as shown. Route the V4 Harness s RED wire toward the front of the Junction Box. y. Locate and Disconnect the Vehicle s 48P Connector from the Junction Box. Release the Black Connector Lever. z. Remove the Black Connector Lever. Release the lock on both sides of 48P Connector. CAUTION: Do not force the lever. Page 19 of 40

aa. Lift the Terminal retainer Clip. CAUTION: Do not pull out the Retainer Clip. ab. Insert the V4 Red Wire Terminal into the indicated location on the 48P Vehicle Connector. VERIFY: Terminal Pins are properly inserted and do not come out. ac. Close the Terminal Retainer Clip. ad. Re-attach the Black Connector Lever. Page 20 of 40

ae. Reconnect the Vehicle s 48P Connector. af. Secure the V4 RED Wire to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. ag. Secure the V4 RED Wire to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. Page 21 of 40

5. RES ECU Preparation and Installation. a. Cut the Protective Sheet as shown. Discard the Protective Sheet C. Fig. 5-2 b. Attach RES ECU Bracket to the RES ECU. Fig. 5-3 c. Using VDC approved Cleaner and cleaning method, clean the area indicated on the ECU Bracket. Do not clean the RES ECU. Page 22 of 40

d. Attach the Protective Sheet A on the edge of the ECU Bracket as shown. Do not place sheet beyond the Red Line. Make sure the Protective Sheet adhere tenaciously to the surface of the Bracket. e. Attach the Protective Sheet B on the edge of the ECU Bracket as shown. Do not place sheet beyond the Red Line. Make sure the Protective Sheet adhere tenaciously to the surface of the Bracket. f. g. Position the RES ECU behind the Driver s side Junction Box as shown. Install the RES ECU to the Vehicle s Brace using the supplied Bolt. NOTE: Make sure the Guide Pin is seated correctly. 6. V4 Harness Installation. (Driver s Side) a. Plug in the V4 Harness s 24P and 8P Connectors to the RES ECU. b. Secure the V4 Fuses to the Vehicle Harness using 2 Wire Ties. c. Secure the V4 Harness to the Vehicle Harness using 2 Wire Ties. Route the V4 Harness above the Hood Release Cable. Page 24 of 40

d. Remove the Vehicle s Ground Terminal Bolt from the Driver s side Cowl Area. e. f. Secure the V4 Ground Terminal to the Vehicle s Ground Terminal using the same the Bolt. Secure the V4 Harness to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. 7. V4 Harness Installation. (Driver s Side ~ Center Area) a. Route the V4 Harness behind the Vehicle Brace toward the Center Cluster Area. Page 25 of 40

b. Secure the V4 Harness s Sky Blue Tape Marker to the Vehicle s Brace with 1 Wire Tie. c. V4 ONLY Connect the V4 5P Connector to Vehicle s 5P Pre-Connector located in the Center Cluster Area. d. e. Secure the 5P Connectors to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. Secure the V4 Harness to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. NOTE: Make sure that the Audio USB Cable is not secured with the V4 Connectors. Go to section 8. Page 26 of 40

f. V5/V4 ADD-ON ONLY Remove the Screw securing the V5 ECU. Do not discard the Screw. g. Cut the Wire Tie securing the V5 Harness. h. Remove the Tape securing the V5 Harness s Female 5P Connector. Page 27 of 40

i. Connect the V5 Harness s Female 5P Connector to the V4 5P Connector. j. Secure the 5P Connectors to the Vehicle Harness with 1 Wire Tie. NOTE: Make sure that the Audio USB Cable is not secured with V4/V5 Connectors. k. Reinstall the V5 ECU using the same Screw. Page 28 of 40

8. Reassembly. a. Reinstall the Driver s side Knee Airbag. Install 4 Bolts. NOTE: Make sure to tighten the Bolts to 88.5 in lbf (10 N m). b. c. Using VDC approved cleaner and cleaning method, clean the area indicated on the Lower Steering Column Cover. Apply 2 Foam tapes as shown. NOTE: Do not perform above steps if Foam Tapes are already present. d. Reinstall the Lower Steering Column Cover. Page 29 of 40

10mm Socket, Phillips Screwdriver Fig. 9-1 ALREADY INSTALLED or 9. Registration Preparation. a. Reassemble the Vehicle except for the Driver s Cowl cover and Step cover. Note: Make sure that all Connectors are reconnected. Note: Verify that panels fit together properly, with no uneven gaps. DO NOT INSTALL 10mm Socket Fig. 10-1 10. Registration. a. b. Open the Hood. Temporarily reconnect the Negative Battery Cable. CAUTION: Do not touch the Positive Terminal. Fig. 10-2 c. Locate the 1P RES Diagnostic Connectors in the Driver s Side Cowl Area and connect them. NOTE: Once connected you will have 10 minutes to complete this section, steps c-ad. d. Close all doors. Page 30 of 40

Fig. 10-3 e. f. Insert the Key into the Ignition. Turn it from OFF to ON 5 times. LOOK: For the Hazard Lights to flash Once. g. Turn the Key to the OFF position. Fig. 10-4 h. i. Start the Engine. After 10 seconds stop the Engine. LOOK: For the Hazard Lights to flash Once. 10 Seconds Fig. 10-5 IF THIS FAILED The Hazard Lights won t flash or flashes Twice. Disconnect the V4 Harness s 1P RES Diagnostic Connectors. Start again from step c. Page 31 of 40

Techstream Fig. 10-6 j. k. Connect the Techstream Notebook to the Vehicle s Diagnostic Port. Turn the Key in the Ignition to the ON position. Use a piece of Clear Tape to lift the label off its protective backing. CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface. e. Attach the Key Label as shown. f. Attach the Key Tag to the Key ring. REPEAT: steps c f with the other Key. g. h. Use Household Glass Cleaner to clean the inside of the Front Door Windows. Use a piece of Clear Tape to lift the Label from the protective backing. 12. Complete the Installation. a. Finish reassembling the Vehicle. VERIFY: That panels fit together properly, with no uneven gaps. VERIFY: That all Connectors are plugged in. b. Position the Negative Battery Cable at the original factory position. Tighten the Nut to 36 in lbf (4.07 N m) CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal. c. Clean up and Remove trash. d. Sealed in its protective bag, place the Owner s Manual in the Glovebox. e. Reset the power windows. Turn the ignition ON. Lower the Windows halfway. Pull up on the Power Window Switches until the windows close. Continue to hold up on the switches for a minimum of 1 Second. f. Reset the Moon Roof. (If equipped) Turn the ignition ON. Open the Moon Roof halfway. Push and hold the Moon Roof Switch to close until the Moon Roof closes. Continue to hold the switch for a minimum of 1 Second. Page 37 of 40

Accessory Function Checks Close the hood, enter the vehicle and close all doors. Place the shift lever in the P (Park) position, set the parking brake and make sure the Vehicle is off. Perform 1 Press the remote control s lock button twice within 2 seconds, then press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds. 2 With the engine running, pull the hood release handle. NOTE: Some Vehicles may require you to exit the Vehicle and pull up on the Hood. 3 Move the shift lever out of P (Park). Attempt to start the Vehicle using the remote. Look For The hazard lights flash after 3 seconds. The engine starts. The hazard lights flash repeatedly for 10 seconds. The engine stops. The hazard lights flash once. The security alarm triggers.
