Harsc Industrial Pattersn-Kelley s PrtNde Startup Guide Page 14 f 45 2.3.3 BACnet MS/TP and BACnet/IP (FPC-N34): Setting the Device Instance The A Bank f DIP switches are used fr tw purpses: Fr BACnet MS/TP, they are used t set the BACnet MS/TP MAC address. (Sectin 2.3.2) Fr bth BACnet MS/TP and BACnet/IP, they are als used t determine the BACnet Device Instance values. The BACnet Device Instance can range frm 1 t 4,194,303. The BACnet device instances will be calculated by taking the Nde_Offset (default is 50,000) fund in Web Cnfiguratr (Sectin 2.3.2.1) and adding it t the value f the A Bank DIP switches. When mre than ne device is cnnected t the PrtNde, the subsequent BACnet Device Instance values will be sequential frm the first/previus device. Fr example: Given that: Device Instance = Nde_Offset + A Bank DIP switch value Default Nde_Offset value = 50,000 A Bank DIP switch value = 11 Then the Device Instance values fr the devices are: Device 1 Instance = 50,011 Device 2 Instance will then be 50,011(Device Instance 1) +1 = 50,012 Device 3 Instance will then be 50,012 (previus Device Instance) +1 = 50,013 2.3.3.1 BACnet MS/TP r BACnet/IP: Assigning Specific Device Instances With the default Nde_Offset value f 50,000 the Device Instances values generated will be within the range f 50,001 t 50,127. The values allwed fr a BACnet Device Instance can range frm 1 t 4,194,303. T assign a specific Device Instance (r range), change the Nde_Offset value. Methds fr changing the Nde_Offset value are prvided in Sectin 4.2 This step cannt be perfrmed until after the unit is cnnected and pwered. 2.3.4 Metasys N2 r Mdbus TCP/IP (FPC-N34): Setting the Nde-ID Set DIP switches A0 A7 t assign Nde-ID fr Metasys N2 r Mdbus TCP/IP t the PrtNde FPC- N34.
