Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgement or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not attempt to use this product. 5. USE EYE PROTECTION. 6. DRESS SAFELY. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry, as they can become caught in moving parts. Wear a protective hair covering to prevent long hair from becoming caught in moving parts. If wearing a long-sleeve shirt, roll sleeves up above elbows. 7. DO NOT OVERREACH. Keep proper footing and balance at all times to prevent tripping, falling, back injury, etcetera. 8. INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS MUST FOLLOW OSHA REQUIREMENTS. 9. STAY ALERT. Watch what you are doing at all times. Use common sense. Do not assemble or use this product when you are tired or distracted from the job at hand. 10. CHECK FOR DAMAGED PARTS. Before using this product, carefully check that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect the operation of this product. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately. 11. REPLACEMENT PARTS AND ACCESSORIES: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Only use accessories intended for use with this product. 2. MAKE SURE TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AS OUTLINED IN THE MANUFACTURER S MANUAL FOR THE MODEL 42709 UTILITY TRAILER BEFORE USE AND INSTALLATION. Make sure to attach the Wooden Side Panel to the Utility Trailer manufacturer s recommended assembly points. People and animals are not to be given rides in the Utility Trailer. It is for materials use only. 3. ALWAYS EXAMINE THE WOODEN SIDE PANEL KIT FOR LOOSE MOUNT- ING BOLTS, CRACKED AND BROKEN FRAMES, AND ANY OTHER CONDI- TION THAT MAY AFFECT ITS SAFE OPERATION. Do not use the Wooden Side Panel Kit even if minor damage appears. UNPACKING When unpacking, check to make sure all the parts shown on the Parts List (page 7) are included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: For additional references to the parts listed below, refer to the Assembly Diagram (page 7). The Utility Trailer should be on a flat, level surface with wheels blocked, while the Wooden Side Panel Kit is being assembled. To Attach The Upright Panel Supports To The Side Panels: 1. Align the six uppermost mounting holes of an Upright Panel Support (part #12) with the two mounting holes located in the center of each of three Side Panels (part #10). 2. Use six Bolts (part #4), six Washers (part #2), and six Nuts (part #3) to secure the Upright Panel Support (part #12) to the three Side Panels (part #10). 3. Repeat Steps #1 and #2 for the other three Upright Panel Supports (part #12) and remaining nine Side Panels (part #10). To Attach The Upright Panel Supports To The Front And Rear Panels: 1. Align the six uppermost mounting holes in each of two Upright Panel Supports (part #12) with the two mounting holes located in the center of each of three Front Panels (part #11). 2. secure the Upright Panel Supports (part #12) to the three Front Panels (part #11). 3. Repeat Steps #1 and #2 for the remaining two Upright Panel Supports (part #12) and remaining three Rear Panels (part #11). To Attach The Front And Rear Sections Of The Side Panel Assemblies: 1. With assistance, place the ends of two Side Panel Assemblies (part 10) together. Next, insert three Side Panel Plates (part #8) over the three connecting ends of the two Side Panel Assemblies. Then, secure the three connecting ends of the two Side Panel Assemblies, using twelve Bolts (part #4), twelve Washers (part #2), and twelve Nuts (part #3). 2. Repeat Step #1 for the remaining two Side Panel Assemblies (part #10). To Attach The Latches/Latch Housings To The Side Panel Assemblies: 1. Locate the four mounting holes at each end of an uppermost, previously assembled, Side Panel Assembly (part #10). Then secure one Latch/Latch Housing (parts #9, #13) to each end, using four Bolts (part #4), four Washers (part #2), and four Nuts (part #3) for each Latch/Latch Housing. 2. Repeat Step #1 for the remaining Side Panel Assembly (part #10) and remaining two Latch/Latch Housings (parts #9, #13). To Attach The Latch Plates To The Front/Rear Panel Assemblies: 1. Locate the four mounting holes at each end of an uppermost, previously assembled, Front Panel Assembly (part #11). Then secure one Latch Plate (part #7) to each end, using four Bolts (part #4), four Washers (part #2), and four Nuts (part #3) for each Latch Plate. 2. Repeat Step #1 for the remaining Rear Panel Assembly (part #11) and remaining two Latch Plates (part #7). To Attach The Side Panel Assemblies And Front/Rear Panel Assemblies To The Utility Trailer: 1. With assistance, insert the two Upright Panel Supports (part #12) of one Side Panel Assembly (part #10) into the two mounting slots located on the side of the SKU 40141 For technical questions, please call 1-800-444-3353. Utility Trailer. Align the two mounting holes at the bottom of the Upright Panels with the two mounting holes in the slots. Then secure the Side Panel Assembly to the Utility Trailer, using one Bolt (part #5), one Washer (part #6), and one Nut (part #14) for each Upright Panel Support. 2. Repeat Step #1 for the remaining Side Panel Assembly (part #10). 3. With assistance, insert the two Upright Panel Supports (part #12) of one Front Panel Assembly (part #11) into the two mounting slots located on the front end of the Utility Trailer. Then, secure the Front Panel Assembly to the two Side Panel Assemblies (part #10) by locking the Latch (part #9) in the Latch Plate (part #7). 4. Repeat Step #1 for the remaining Rear Panel Assembly (part #11). 5. For convenient loading and unloading, simply unlock the Latch (part #9) from the Latch Plate (part #7). Lift up on the Front/Rear Panel Assembly (part #11), and temporarily remove the Front/Rear Panel Assembly. CAUTION: ALWAYS reattach the Front/Rear Panel Assembly to the Utility Trailer and lock all four Latches after the Trailer has been loaded and unloaded. INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING 1. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the Wooden Side Panel. Check for loose mounting bolts, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked, bent, or broken parts, accidentally unlocked Latches (part #9), and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use damaged equipment. 2. TO CLEAN, use only water and a mild detergent. Keep the Wooden Side Panel Kit clean and dry, if possible, to prolong the life of the wood.
