The Continental ebike System and the Continental Belt Drive are two modular product families that give bicycle manufacturers flexible platform solutions for a range of product and market segments.

4 5 New for 2018 New 48V Revolution ebike technology Modulare platform With the new 48V ebike technology, Continental offers a new ebike series based on the 48 Volt technology standard. In particular, two new central drive units form the basis for innovative drive solutions. While the 48V Prime enables a conventional gearshift mechanism, the 48V Revolution drive unit has an integrated, continuously variable automatic gearbox. This paves the way for an entirely automatic mode delivering a new level of ride comfort. With ebike systems tailored to suit both comfort and sporty riders through specific individual ride characteristics, the 48V and 36V ebike series are the perfect complement to each other. solutions 48V Revolution drive unit The Continental ebike System (CeBS) is a premium class modular drive system. It comprises of state-of-the-art drive components that have been developed for maximum user-friendliness, ergonomics and design. A modular system for individual drive solutions The CeBS portfolio includes a variety of components divided into different categories such as displays, remote controls, drive units and batteries, enabling bicycle manufacturers to assemble the appropriate drive solution with the preferred range of functions. Optimum system integration and OEM flexibility In addition to the enormous flexibility in system components, Continental pays particular importance to the creation of optimized drive solutions for customer-specific bicycle concepts and individual customization options. This results in high product individuality and an ebike drive solution that is better tailored to the particular target group. Wireless ebike technology With new Wireless ebike technology, Continental offers a an option for a streamlined ebike system configuration that requires neither remote control or display. This is made possible by a battery in which the drive assistance levels can be set directly by means of an LED display panel. The battery also comes with a Bluetooth and ANT+ interface, allowing a choice of connections to the wireless remote control and/or the Conti ebike App. These optional add-ons enable riders to determine the desired system configuration and functionality themselves. 6 7 The new 48V 48V ebike SYSTEM 48V Revolution ebike technology New ebike product series based on 48V drive technology With the new 48V ebike System, Continental offers a further platform solution based on a 48 Volt standard. It consists of two brand-new drive units the 48V Prime and the 48V Revolution that are complemented by system components such as batteries, displays and remote controls. 48V technology standard Continental has created the 48V product line on the basis of its holistic expertise in mobility solutions. With our existing know-how and understanding, a decision was made to opt for the futuristic 48 Volt technology that has already become a feature of other industries, such as the automotive industry, as it offers numerous by increasing electrification. This uniform voltage standard enables many synergies from other areas of mobility to be better incorporated into the enhancement of two-wheel drive systems. Standardized drive unit mount Both 48V Revolution and 48V Prime drive units utilise the same drive unit frame mounting bracketñ allowing for uniform frame concepts to be created, simplifying design and reducing both variation in the procurement process and complexity in production. The 48er Revolution is the worldís first 48V powered ebike drive unit with a fully integrated automatic gearbox contained in a single unit. With its 2-in-1 drive and wide ranged Continuous Variable Planetary (CVP) stepless gearing, the 48er Revolution sets a new standard in integrated ebike systems, resulting in a fully automatic ride that is seamless in operation. 2-in-1 innovation The 48V Revolution is the first 48V ebike drive unit in the world to have an integrated continuously variable automatic gearbox. The seamless 2-in-1 fusion of 70 Nm-strong ebike motor and continuously variable 380% planetary gearing results in a fully automatic drive and sets a new standard for integrated ebike systems. Automatic or manual gearshift mode The rider can select either a cadence based automatic gearshift mode or simply ride with manual operation. In automatic mode a riderís normal cadence is set. The 48V Revolution then adjusts transmission ratios automatically so that the rider always travels within the preferred comfort range. With the manual gearshift mode they can shift between gears themselves. Stop & Go convenience Transmission ratios can be adjusted even when under load or at a standstill, enabling the rider to master stop & go situations more conveniently than ever. After a short stop, they just start off again at a pleasant transmission ratio. Easy ebike handling Integrating gearing within the central drive unit, relocates more weight to a central and low centre of gravity, optimizing the ebike`s ride characteristics. A low-maintenance inte - grated drive unit, means reduced system complexity, a cleaner looking rear wheel and simple removal and installation makes servicing easier. Based around a compact, powerful and lightweight 36V central drive unit, this product line is aimed specifically at sportier ebike concepts. 14 15 Wireless ebike technology Thanks to a wireless connection between the battery, remote control and smartphone with the Conti ebike App, the Continental ebike System can be flexibly adapted to deliver the riders preferred configuration. The normally wired remote control and display can be optionally replaced with the wireless remote control and a smartphone with Conti ebike App. Wireless remote control (RC-Wireless1.0) Integrated battery with Bluetooth/ANT+ A modified version of the integrated downtube battery with expanded control elements on the battery housing allows the ebike assistance levels to be set directly on the battery. The Bluetooth Smart and ANT+ technologies have also been integrated directly into the battery so that other wireless components such as the wireless remote control and a smartphone with Conti ebike App can be connected. Control of the assistance levels is also integrated, enabling the motor assistance level to be adjusted without need of even a remote control.

16 17 ebike CONNECTIVITY Networked on the move With both a display featuring integrated Bluetooth 4.0 technology and a linked smartphone app, Continental offers an ebike connectivity solution that is tailored specifically to the Continental ebike System. The Conti ebike App is the optimum add-on for ebikes equipped with the Continental ebike System that include our Bluetooth-compatible display. Tailored specifically to the Continental drive system, this connectivity solution allows a large number of additional functions such as navigation, fitness and weather information to be accessed. Once the device has been linked, the ebike display switches to an enhanced display mode. The information is presented on both the ebike display and the smartphone app by means of 2-way communication. This allows the smartphone to be mounted on the handlebar to supplement the display or simply kept safe and secure in the riderís pocket. 18 19 CONTINENTAL SERVICE SOFTWARE Easy maintenance Frankfurt am Main/Eschborn Mini USB port on the display Service software To make maintenance of the Continental ebike System extremely easy, Continental offers bike manufacturers and dealers a special service platform called Conti ebike Analytics. The Java-based program is provided free of charge via our b2b service portal. Once installed, it can then establish a connection between your PC and the ebike by means of a standard micro USB port and USB cable. The ebike device interface is located on the underside of our display units. Conti ebike Analytics makes the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of the drive components extremely simple. System data can be exported, configured and flashed via your PC without the need to spend time dismantling or opening the drive components.
