WORKSHOP VENUE United Nations Campus Altes Abgeordneten-Hochhaus (Room-AHH UG1) Platz der Vereinten Nationen 1 53113 Bonn, Germany 2. HOW TO GET TO THE VENUE? A. By train/subway Bonn main station (Hauptbahnhof) and Frankfurt airport are connected by direct trains, and a direct bus connection runs between Cologne/Bonn airport and Bonn Hauptbahnhof. From Bonn Hauptbahnhof: Take subway (U-Bahn) line 16, 63 or 66 towards Bad Godesberg/Koenigswinter. Get off at Heussallee stop and exit in the "Deutsche Welle" direction. When you reach the street go straight ahead until you reach Hermann-Ehlers-Strasse and the UN Campus. The walking distance from the subway station is about 250 metres. The entrance is located behind the offices of Deutsche Welle, about 50 metres down the road from the intersection of Heussallee and Kurt-Schumacher-Strasse. By bus Take bus no. 610 or 611 from Bonn city centre (opposite Hauptbahnhof) or Bad Godesberg city centre to the Deutsche Welle stop. Walk down to Hermann Ehlers Strasse (towards the Rhine river) for about two minutes. The entrance is located behind the offices of Deutsche Welle, about 50 metres down the road from the intersection of Heussallee and Kurt-Schumacher-Strasse. C. By taxi The fare for a taxi ride to Langer Eugen (Hermann Ehlers Strasse 10) from Bonn city centre and Hauptbahnhof is around 8 EUR. The central phone number for Bonn taxis is (0228)-555 555. D. By air COLOGNE/BONN AIRPORT Bus line SB60 (airport express) services the 25 km stretch between Cologne/Bonn Airport and Bonn Main Railway Station. The journey takes aprox. 30 min. At the time of writing, one-way tickets are sold at EUR 6.90. On weekdays, buses leave every 30 min, while it leaving every 30 to 60 mi. on Saturdays and Sundays. For exact timetables, please refer to the SWB Web site: <http://en.swb-busundbahn.de/service/airport-express-sb60.html> You can also take a train to Bonn Hauptbahnhof, where you can catch a subway train to the UN Campus (see the directions for subway above, under By train/subway ). If you take a taxi from the airport to the UN Campus, the fare will approximately be 35 Euro. From Siegburg you can take a taxi (0228)- 555 555 to the UN Campus. Alternatively there is a slower train going directly to Bonn city centre departing every hour. By car From Frankfurt/Hannover/Ruhrgebiet: A3 motorway to Bonn/Siegburg intersection, A560 motorway towards Bonn until St. Augustin junction, A59 motorway towards Bonn-Bad Godesberg until Bonn-Ost (42) intersection, A562 motorway, keep right until exit (Anschlussstelle) Bonn-Rheinaue, Turn right onto Franz-Josef-Strauss-Allee towards Bonn-Rheinaue, First exit on the right into Charles-de-Gaulle-Str., Follow the road and pass the Post Office area, When you reach the Rhine, the first exit on the left is the Hermann-Ehlers-Str., Follow Hermann-Ehlers-Str until you reach the UN Campus. From the South-West of the Rhine: A61 motorway until Meckenheim intersection, A565 motorway towards Bonn, Poppelsdorf exit, towards Bad Godesberg (B9), After Reuterbruecke bridge keep right and follow the road to the right into Adenauerallee, Second exit on the left towards the Heussallee, At the second traffic light turn right into Kurt-Schumacher-Str., First exit on the left into Franz-Josef-Strauss-Str., Then use the next possibility to exit on the left and turn into Charles-de-Gaulle Str., Follow the road and pass the Post Office area, When you reach the Rhine, the first exit on the left is the Hermann-Ehlers-Str., Follow Hermann-Ehlers-Str until you reach the UN Campus. Parking There is little space for car parking at the UN Campus. However, cars can be parked in one of the parking areas along Charles-de-Gaulle-Str. Located on the back of the campus at the river side, there is a big parking space. The cost for whole day parking is 5 Euro. 3. 4. TRANSPORTATION TO U.N. CAMPUS By Taxi The fare for a taxi to Langer Eugen from most places in Bad Godesberg should not exceed EUR 10 15 depending on where you are coming from. The fare from Bonn City centre is approximately EUR 15. By Tram (U-Bahn) Number 16, 63 and 66 Tram stop: Heussallee By Bus Bus from Bonn City centre (Hauptbahnhof): Number 610 and 611 (to bus stop: Deutsche Welle ) Take bus number 610 or 611 (direction Heiderhof) from Bonn City centre. The bus stop is located across the street from the main train station (Hauptbahnof). Get down at the stop Deutsche Welle, it will take approximately 10 minutes. Bus from Bad Godesberg: Number 610 and 611 (bus stop: Deutsche Welle ) Take bus number 610 or 611 from Rheinallee. The bus stop is located just behind the main subway station in Bad Godesberg. Get down at the stop Deutsche Welle, it will take approximately 10 minutes. The main security entrance is located on Platz der Vereinten Nationen. If you take the bus 610 or 611, the main security guard house is directly in the corner (it can be seen from the bus stop).

REGISTRATION AND ACCESS BADGES The registration counter will be open for participants and nominated observers on Thursday, 24 October 2013from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Please note that access to the conference area is restricted to registered participants of the meeting. In order to comply with the security requirements of the secretariat, participants are expected to wear their badges visibly at all times and in all areas. If you lose your badge, please report it to the registration counter or to the secretariat immediately. 8. VISA Participants requiring an entry or transit visa are strongly encouraged to contact the appropriate consular authorities as soon as possible. 9. DAILY SUBSISTENCE ALLOWANCE (DSA) DSA for funded participants will be distributed in the form of travellers cheque on Thursday, 24 October 2013. Please bring your passport, plane ticket and boarding passes on the first day of the workshop in order to facilitate arrangements for the DSA payment. 10. Value added tax (VAT): Prices for goods and services include VAT of 19% for regular goods and 7% for food and books. If permanent residence is outside the European Union, a large portion of the VAT may be refunded provided shopping is done at stores displaying Tax- Free for Tourists signs by completing tax-free form and presenting it to the custom officials at the airport before checking in.
