Range of Application product line The (FHM) product line represents a new generation of Fresh Heaven units for pressurized low-turbulence fields that combines full filtration with the operating mode for local air recirculation. Technical Description Principle of operation (FHM) Treated fresh air (from an air handling unit) or return air from the room is driven into a pressure chamber that is fitted with HEPA filters which are installed horizontally across the entire area of the pressurized field (fitted via clamps to a sealed stainless steel welded frame). After passing through the HEPA filters the cleaned air is pushed through outlets along individually arranged lighting to create a protection zone around a product or a patient. Afterwards, contaminated air is extracted from the room into a central air handling unit or supplied via the power module. The height of the FHM unit is 450 mm. The dimensions are determined according to the requirements of the facility system designer. A large-size unit is divided into sections which are supplied separately and connected together on site. The joints are designed to minimize their effect on the quality of laminar air flow and should be determined during the planning stage. 6 PR-2012-0057-GB Subject to changes R3-02/2017

H=Hc Technical Data FHM V (FHM V) Air-supply connections are located on top of the casing. The connections are rectangular and are fitted with flanges. The position and dimensions of inlet connections must be determined and specified during the planning stage. Consider the recommended average air velocity at unit inlet of 3 m/s. H=Hc Technical Data FHM S (FHM S) Air supply connections are located on the side of the casing. The inlet connections are rectangular and are fitted with flanges. The position and dimensions of inlet connections must be determined and specified during the planning stage. Principle of operation (FHM P) A unit is equipped with a POWER module, fans for air recirculation and a pre-filter. The maximum size of the unit is limited by the volumetric flow rate of 12,000 m 3 /h, which at the average outlet speed of 0.45 m/s corresponds to the laminar air flow field area of approximately 7.4 m 2. If a water-based coil is added to the suction chamber, the maximum volumetric flow rate is reduced to approximately 8,000 m 3 /h, which at the average outlet speed of 0.45 m/s corresponds to the laminar air flow field area of approximately 4.9 m 2. W H = Hc Technical Data FHM POWER U (FHM PU) U is designed for installion into false ceilings (a horizontal suction grille mounted flush with the false ceiling). Air intake is performed via a perforated metal-sheet grille and a pre-filter and pushed by a fan into the pressurized chamber above HEPA filters. Filtered clean air is supplied downwards along lights through outlets. The suction chamber is separated from the laminar air flow field by a PVC curtain. The air duct is fitted with a pre-filter and up to four fans in a row. The maximum size of the unit is limited by the volumetric flow rate of 12,000 m 3 /h, which at the average outlet speed of 0.45 m/s corresponds to the laminar air flow field area of approximately 7.4 m 2. Coil pipes run upward (optionally downward, to sides or backward), the optional valve assembly may be installed inside the unit. The maximum size of the unit is limited by the volumetric flow rate of approximately 8,000 m 3 /h, which at the average outlet speed of 0.45 m/s corresponds to the laminar air flow field area of approximately 4.9 m 2. Ho Hc Technical Data FHM POWER D Cool (FHM PDC) FHM PDC is equipped with fans installed in pairs above each other to increase the length of the laminar air flow field. The maximum size of the unit is limited by the volumetric flow rate of approximately 8,000 m 3 /h (two pairs of fans), which at the average outlet speed of 0.45 m/s corresponds to the laminar air flow field area of approximately 4.9 m 2. The minimum width of the module here is 1.25 m and the maximum length of the laminar air flow field La can approximately reach 4 metres. Technical Data FHM POWER B This unit type combines structural design of Fresh Breeze units (see catalog for Fresh Breeze Fan-Filter Unit) and offers highest quality of units. Components Accessories / optional components Pre-filter Fresh air supply Cooling coil pre-filter in M5 filter class for treatment of return air (valid only for FHMP version) unit can be equipped with a mixing function for fresh air supplied by central-plant air handling unit pipes and fins are made of copper, the casing is made of stainless steel. coil is designed on the basis of parameters provided by the customer (e.g. temperature and humidity of outlet air and heat load). The design calculation of the coil is included in the documentation. coil is operated in condensation-free mode. If the valve assembly is included, this function is provided by the software of the unit s control module; if the valve assembly is not ordered, the measuring and control components must be provided by the customer. Valve assembly The valve assembly consists of a three-way mixing valve with an actuator, a circulation pump and a balancing valve. Control equipment Control and measurement for / POWER switch box is mounted on the side of the Power module and has following dimensions: 600 (length) x 300 (height) x 150 (depth) mm control module made by Siemens ( Siemens Logo! ) pressure switch for HEPA filters pressure switches for pre-filters (valid for FHMP version) power supply for LED lights OPTIONAL: potential-free outputs to the central Building Management System (BMS) control panel is installed into a precast panel and performs following functions: HEPA filter replacement indication pre-filter replacement indication (valid only for FHMP version) lighting switch air speed alarm (too high/low) switchover between the day (nominal flow) and night (reduced flow) mode (valid only for FHMP version) Air speed sensor (option) speed sensor for outlet air equipped with a stainless steel bracket for mounting on a partition wall. Dwyer Photohelic manometer (option) As standard, the pressure drop is controlled by a differential pressure switch and indicated on the control panel. Project Design Instruction Dimensions and tolerances Consider manufacturing and assembly tolerances when designing the dimensions of the FHM field (theoretical tolerance of 5 mm is recommended). The picture shows a sample unit connected to a suspended false ceiling (KS false ceiling profile) and R panel (the joint is covered by a R30-radius profile). joint The maximum size of the unit is limited by structural, manufacturing and transport options and is determined upon agreement between the manufacturer, designer and end user. Large-size fields include more components with emphasis placed on minimizing the effect of joints between different parts and ensuring uniform air flow (see the cross section). The casing is suspended on M8 threaded rods using suspension lugs located outside the unit (access to the outer sides of the unit must be provided). The rod is screwed into a riveting nut located on the suspension lug and secured by an M8 nut. To set a horizontal position we recommend using specially-provided anchors. The project designer determines the type of material used for anchoring the unit to the ceiling. For detailed instructions on mounting contact your relevant sales office. Space for valve assembly When designing FHM PowerU Cool and PowerS Cool units, ensure enough space for the valve assembly. Consult the manufacturer for the location of these components and the required piping. Several units (installed next to each other) can be supplied from a single valve assembly (each coil must have its own balancing valve). We recommend using special wall panels equipped with ducts for piping; the valve assembly can be mounted in a wall-panel compartment (access through an inspection door). Panel height If a partition wall is connected to FHM, such panels should not project more than 30 mm into the bottom edge of the laminar module (due to risk of damage by contacting piping or by-pass).
