Ch. 1 Driver License System Do Now: What is your dream car? (make, model, & color) Is driving a right or a privilege? Do you believe 17 is a fair age for receiving your license? Do you think most people are safe drivers? Do you believe we should be re-tested on our license once we reach a certain age? (i.e. 50, 60, 70 )
Ch. 1 When driving you must ALWAYS have your valid license/probationary license/nj permit registration insurance
What happens if I move? If you change your address, the change must be reported to the MVC within one week (7 days) after moving If moving from another state to NJ, you must apply for a NJ license within 60 days or before current license expires
Marriage/Name Change A motorist who legally changes their name (marriage, divorce, adoption) must report the change to the MVC within two weeks (14 days)
Digital Driver License Under 21=vertical Over 21=horizontal Receiving an illegal license: $200-$500 $500 30-90 days imprisonment Altering or showing an altered license: $1,000 fine 6 mo. Imprisonment

GDL = Graduated Driver License Graduated Driver License Program: *System that gradually introduces privileges to first-time time drivers *Restrictions must be strictly adhered to. Failure to comply with any GDL law may result in a $100 fine or possible suspension of driving privilege
