Teletrailers For the transport of long loads has an extensive programme of flatbed semi-trailers called Teletrailers. These semi-trailers are equipped with an extendible load floor and hydraulically forced steering. In this unique steering system the extremely large steering angle ensures optimum manoeuvrability. Any self-supporting load, from steel and concrete structures to rotor blades, can be transported with the greatest efficiency and at the lowest possible cost. The Teletrailer is available with 2 to 6 hydraulically steered axles. It has a GVW of 102 tonnes and a maximum technical load capacity of around 85 tonnes at 80 km/hr. NOOTEBOOM
TELETRAILER Load floors The Teletrailers are supplied with a single, double or triple extendible load floor and with a load floor height that can be as low as 1150 mm. With a standard length of 13.60 metres within the legal EG dimensions, the load floor can be extended to just over 42 metres. The Teletrailers are available in several basic lengths. When starting from a length of 16.6 metres the load floor is extendible to a length of well over 48 metres. NOOTEBOOM Manual override steering and ASA Override steering can be supplied with the hydraulically steered Teletrailers as an option. At low speed it can be used to steer the trailer manually, even from the driver s cab. This function improves transport safety, especially when shunting or negotiating obstacles. The override steering is equipped as standard with the patented ASA system. With this system the axles of the tractor and semi-trailer can be aligned automatically. The manual override steering with ASA is available with wire connection or as a radio - controlled set. Patented pre-cambered beams On every vehicle in the Teletrailer and Telestep programme employs the unique concept of pre-cambered beams, for which an international patent is pending. This concept guarantees the load floor can be retracted or extended without a hitch. With this special camber the load floor stays perfectly flat when retracted, which is of practical benefit for certain loads. In the unloaded, extended position this concept ensures there is hardly any sagging, which makes the initial stages of the loading procedure much easier.

Telestep The triple extendible Telestep has been developed specially for the transport of ultra-long loads such as rotor blades, tower sections and steel structures. designed and constructed the Telestep in such a way that loads up to the maximum coupling weight can be positioned right behind the gooseneck. The Telestep has a remarkably low load floor height of just 1165 mm, which is partly due to the use of 245/70 R17.5 tyres. The turntable steering provides outstanding manoeuvrability. NOOTEBOOM
TELESTEP Unique cable guide The cable guide, containing the hydraulic hoses for the steering, air and electricservices, is located in the central beam of the Teletrailer. On a triple extendible semi-trailer this piece of equipment can be very vulnerable. However, the cable guide system uses is of the very latest generation and retracting/extending is extremely straightforward; the chance that the cable guide will be damaged or broken has virtually been eradicated. In addition to the Teletrailer and Telestep programme mentioned, other basic lengths are available. In view of transport safety load floor lengths exceeding 48 metres can only be supplied as part of a special subject. The heights mentioned apply to loaded vehicles. TELETRAILER
HEAD BOARD DETAILS & There is a wide choice of head boards for the flatbed semi-trailer programme. These head boards, available in many different sizes and designs, are easily installed/removed. MANUAL OVERRIDE STEERING CONCRETE SPINDLES STEPLADDER Override steering, to manually steer and align the axles, can be supplied. There is a choice between remote control with a wire or the very latest radio controlled set with GSM technology. With the wireless handset it is possible to steer the axles from the cab. Both sets can be used universally on all hydraulically steered semi-trailers. The width adjustable concrete spindles are ideal for securing the load. On top: concrete spindles integrated in the load floor. Below: universal width adjustable concrete spindles and a row of stake pockets. The stepladder provides safe and easy access to the load floor. SPARE WHEEL It is advisable to always have a spare wheel on hand. There is space to store a spare wheel underneath the load floor and on the head board. CENTRAL LUBRICATION LENGTH MARKING SIDE BOARDS With the central lubrication system (optional) all grease points are lubricated automatically. There is a choice of various brands and types of grease. For loads that protrude from the rear, an illuminated length marker plate is available. It extends by 2.5 metres. Aluminium side boards are available in various lengths, heights and designs; in the anodised alu colour as standard, but in the customer s colour on request.
OPTIONS AIR SUSPENSION AND HYDRO-PNEUMATIC SUSPENSION Teletrailers can be equipped with air suspension or the unique hydraulic suspension system. With either suspension system several lift axles can be fitted. Top left: Hydraulic RB suspension with 200 mm height travel. Top right: Hydraulic HR suspension with 300 mm height travel. Bottom left: air suspension. Bottom right: lift axle WIDTH MARKING For the sake of safety it is essential to carry width marker plates if the load protrudes at the side of the vehicle. The telescopic marker plates are maintenance-free and fitted with a retro-reflective warning sign. A flashing beacon can simply be attached to the flashing beacon post. STORAGE BOXES To safely stow loose equipment, various storage boxes are available. Left: stainless steel lockable tool box. Centre: extra large lockable tool box in standard colour. Right: Large open box. BOLSTERS SECURING THE LOAD STAKES STORAGE Top: The semi-trailers can be fitted with narrow dividing bolsters. This makes it possible to carry certain loads, e.g. rafters, in such a way that the load height is reduced considerably. Below: Loose demountable bolsters are available; they can simply be stowed in a special storage unit underneath the load floor. Various provisions to secure the load can be supplied. Just a few examples are hoists (top) and drop rings that are flushfitted in the load floor (below). A maintenance-free storage unit for stakes is located on the head board and can be mounted either on the inside or on the outside. TWISTLOCKS For the transportation of ISO-containers there is a choice between twistlocks that are integrated in the load floor or intermediate locks. TELETRAILER
