The valve is positioned by an all-electric, gear reduced actuator and electronics package mounted on the valve spring housing (yoke assembly). The actuator is designed for low power operation and can be powered by 24 VDC as well as 12 VDC solar powered charging systems for remote locations. The GVP-100 actuator can be configured to emulate a closed-loop positioner or an integrating actuator. The Integrator version of the GVP-100 actuator moves the valve position as directed by the open/ closed contact input signals. When the raise contact is energized, the actuator opens the valve. When the lower contact is energized, the actuator will ramp the valve closed. The raise/lower inputs are software configurable to respond to either high or low signal levels. The actuator can be configured via software for various user requirements. Four levels of userselectable deadband are available. All versions of the GVP-100 actuator include internal diagnostics that can detect a variety of wiring, operational, or critical component faults. Diagnostic codes are signaled on the LED visible when the main cover or PC service cover are removed. In addition, an external fault contact is provided for remote annunciation. Two, user-adjustable limit switches are provided for redundant valve position. These switches are factory set at the minimum and maximum usable positions of the valve. The GVP-100 valve is designed for indoor or outdoor, hazardous area installations without the need for a separate protective enclosure. The electronics enclosure meets US and Canadian Class I, Division 1, Groups C&D, Division 1 Explosion Proof safety requirements. The design also meets NEMA 4X and IP56 requirements, ensuring excellent resistance to corrosion, moisture, and dust. The GVP-100 actuator incorporates state-of- theart diagnostics capabilities. These diagnostics can detect and annunciate many common system problems, wiring errors, and internal faults. This fault detection can reduce the set-up time and ensure that the product is fully functional after installation. In the event of system trouble, the diagnostics can be used to identify quickly the root cause for effective resolution, without the need for external test equipment or tools. Status LED PC Service Tool Connector Several different levels of diagnostics are available. A simple LED is provided behind the service port with a troubleshooting chart on the external cover sufficient for most installation and field troubleshooting issues. More advanced troubleshooting information, user set-up, manual operation, I/O scaling, and configuration settings can be accessed using a PC based service tool.
