OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS WARNING! Use eye and hearing protection. Always wear ANSI-approved safety impact glasses and full face shield when using this Polisher Kit. Also, wear ANSI approved hearing protection. Other people in the work area must also wear appropriate ANSI approved safety equipment. 1. 2. 3. 4. Whenever possible, secure the workpiece in place, using a vise or clamps (not included). Prior to polishing a workpiece, make sure its surface has been thoroughly cleaned and is free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, etc. Apply about two tablespoons of wax (not included) evenly on the previously installed Foam Pad (31). Do not apply the wax directly on the surface of the workpiece. The amount of wax needed will vary according to the size of the workpiece being polished. NOTE: Avoid using too much wax. For additional applications of wax to the Foam Pad, reduce the amount of wax. The Foam Pad will not absorb as much wax in subsequent applications. (See Figure C.) Connect the air supply hose (not included) to the previously installed Quick Connector on the Polisher. Always position the air hose so it will not damage the surface being worked on. Turn on the air compressor, and set its regulator at 90 PSI. Do not exceed 90 PSI. (See Figure C.) 5. IMPORTANT: Always start and stop the Polisher while it is held firmly against the surface of the workpiece. Failure to do so may result in the Foam Pad (31) being thrown from the 3 Pad (29). (See Figure C.) 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Grip the Polisher firmly with both hands. Then, squeeze the Trigger (8) to start the Polisher. NOTE: The speed of the Polisher may be increased by turning its Regulator (14) counterclockwise. (See Figure C.) Allow the Foam Pad (31) to spin up to full speed. Then begin applying wax to the workpiece. Apply the wax to all flat surfaces with broad, sweeping strokes in a criss-cross pattern. Apply the wax evenly over the surface of the workpiece, and add additional wax as needed. (See Figure C.) After the wax has been applied to the workpiece surface, release pressure on the Trigger (8) to turn off the Polisher. Turn off the air compressor. Then squeeze the Trigger of the Polisher to release any remaining air pressure in the tool and compressed air system. (See Figure C.) Remove the Foam Pad (31) from the 3 Pad (29) of the tool. With the Foam Pad in your hand, apply the wax to all hard to reach areas of the workpiece. (See Figure C.) Allow sufficient time for the wax to dry on the workpiece surface. SKU 95030 For technical questions, please call 1-800-444-3353. PAGE 6

11. Install the Buffing Pad (32) onto the 3 Pad (29). (See Figure C.) 12. Connect the air supply hose to the Quick Connector on the Polisher. Turn on the air compressor, and set its regulator at 90 PSI. Do not exceed 90 PSI. (See Figure C.) 13. IMPORTANT: Always start and stop the Polisher while it is held firmly against the surface of the workpiece. Failure to do so may result in the Buffing Pad (32) being thrown from the 3 Pad (29). (See Figure C.) 14. 15. 16. 17. Grip the Polisher firmly with both hands. Then, squeeze the Trigger (8) to start the Polisher. NOTE: The speed of the Polisher may be increased by turning its Regulator (14) counterclockwise. (See Figure C.) Allow the Buffing Pad (32) to spin up to full speed. Then begin polishing the workpiece surface by lightly buffing off the wax residue in a circular pattern. Continue polishing until all the wax residue is removed. (See Figure C.) After the wax has been removed from the workpiece surface, release pressure on the Trigger (8) to turn off the Polisher. Turn off the air compressor. Then squeeze the Trigger of the Polisher to release any remaining air pressure in the tool and compressed air system. (See Figure C.) Remove the Buffing Pad (32) from the 3 Pad (29) of the tool. With the Buffing Pad in your hand, remove the wax from all hard to reach areas of the workpiece. (See Figure C.) INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING WARNING! Always wear ANSI-approved safety impact goggles when performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures. WARNING! Prior to performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning of the Polisher Kit, make sure to disconnect the air hose from the tool. Then, squeeze the Trigger (8) again to release any compressed air in the system and tool. 1. Before each use: Inspect the general condition of the Polisher Kit. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, damaged parts, and any other condition that may affect the tool s safe operation. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use damaged tools and equipment. NOTE: 2. The most common error when polishing a workpiece is applying too much wax. If the Foam Pad (31) becomes too saturated with wax, polishing will SKU 95030 For technical questions, please call 1-800-444-3353. PAGE 7

be more difficult and will take longer. Applying too much wax may also reduce the life of the Foam Pad. If the Foam Pad continually comes off the 3 Pad (29) during use, too much wax has been applied. 3. To clean the Polishing Kit: Wipe the exterior of the Polisher with a clean, damp cloth, using a mild detergent. Do not immerse the tool in liquids. The Foam Pad (31) and Buffing Pad (32) may be washed and dried at medium heat. 4. When storing: Always store the Polishing Kit in a clean, dry, safe location out of reach of children. Always remove the Foam Pad (31) and Buffing Pad (32) from the Polisher when not in use. This will allow the pads to dry and retain their original shape. To prolong the life of the pads, store the pads face up. 5. CAUTION! All maintenance, service, and repairs not mentioned in this manual must only be performed by a qualified service technician. TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Polisher does not turn on when Trigger is squeezed. Foam Pad and/or Buffing Pad continually comes off 3 Pad when tool is in use. Releasing the Trigger on the Polisher does not turn off the tool. Possible Solution 1. Firmly squeeze the Trigger. 2. Turn air compressor on and set its regulator to 90 PSI. 3. Secure all compressed air system connections and make sure that there are no leaks. 4. Clean the air and oil filters in the air compressor. 5. Clean Air Filter within the Inlet Bushing of the Polisher. Thoroughly clean Pad. Thereafter, apply less wax to Foam Pad. Turn off the air compressor. Release any remaining compressed air from the system and tool. Do not use the tool until a qualified service technician repairs the tool.
