Establishment of SNT: The Sikkim Nationalised Transport (SNT) was established on 30th December 1944 which was called earlier the Truck Department. 2. Acts &Rules: SNT is functioning as per " The Sikkim Nationalised Transport (Prevention of the Ticketless Travel and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1981 and The Sikkim Nationalised Transport (Prevention of the Ticketless Travel and Miscellaneous Provisions) Rules 1983 and Amendments made in this respect, And Government of Sikkim (Allocation of Business) Amendments Rules, 2008 and also the Amendments made in this respect. 3. Projects, Infrastructures Planned and Status: Projects Details Status IDMS( Integrated Depot Started in 2014, All Depot, Management System Workshops, Check posts and related office connected with IDMS JnNRUM Projects Total buses 53 numbers 41 Buses Arrived, 12 AC Buses are 4 Control room established. 90% works have been completed Due to change of scheme by Min of urban

Strengthening of BUS, Trucks and tanker Services: - most of the routes have been covered by SNT bus service - Commercial services are being covered under SNT Under taking and SNT supervision - 41 New Buses have already been received and deployed under JnNURM - Pvt Trucks are plying under SNT Undertaking and supervision - Pvt Tankers are plying under SNT Undertaking and supervision - The operational cell and Mechanical cell has been united at HQ level and better co-ordination at Field level - All information's are on line under IDMS control room 19. New and Innovative Initiates: - State Control room is fully computerised and with modern technology established at Head Quarter both for SNT & MV. - It has been planned to provide the Control Room services to private Transporters and Taxi services as well on payment basis. - A New control room to regulate and monitor the bus services is being established at GBO (SNT) which will also support the Motor Vehicles Division. 5

- All check posts have been strengthened by computerisation and IDMS projects - Weigh Bridge at Melli has been made operational - All depot like Legship, Mangan, Rhenock have been made operational - SNT Undertaking Bus Services has been launched for All Reciprocal routes and Army, Pharmaceutical Companies, Universities and others - All Nationalised Routes as per SNT Act have been brought under SNT Undertaking or SNT Supervision - In house Computer training is being imparted to all the staff and officers - Official website of Transport Department having SNT and MV both named www.sntd.in has been launched and is being updated - All offices and officers have been connected with Internet and Email - Library has been created in the Department. - Enforcement cell has been made more active to check the revenue leakage and services - Nodal Officers have been made for Bus, Truck and Tanker services to have single window Approach - More areas have been explored and added to enhance revenue and services under SNT Undertaking and Supervision. - More than ` 1.50 crores has been added as Revenue by condemnation and auctioning of non functional and functional vehicles of various Departments.
