1972 Porsche Design Chronograph I The Porsche Design Chronograph I can be called a milestone in watch design and opened the first page in the history of Porsche Design. It is the first product ever designed by Porsche Design. The watch was a success thanks to its extravagant style: The Chronograph I has been the first black wristwatch worldwide. The stopper was finished in matte black, emulating the appearance of the functional style of the speedometer of the 911. This resemblance to on-board instruments was further enhanced by the white hands and a red second hand against a black dial which ensured that time could be read fast and fault-free. The watch was made by Orfina, who, for series production purposes, added the Valjoux 7750 movement to the casing. The design of the Chronograph I has influenced generations of watches all the way up to the present day. 3/9

The Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See is - in addition to its work on behalf of the Porsche Design Group - also involved in the development of industrial and product design for other companies. The cooperation with Kiwi was one of these. 4/9
1976 Porsche Design Ski Goggles 5600 When they were first launched in 1976 the Porsche Design Ski Goggles had clear futuristic aesthetics. The secret is their simplicity. A flat, flexible synthetic panoramic visor provides all-around vision and UVprotection. The goggles fit any head size. They are flexible, individually adjustable by means of a velcroband, fitting firmly but without pressure. The lens remains clear under all conditions, preventing condensation. Glare is reduced to zero. The lens and the frame are manufactured from different hardwearing synthetics. Lying flat, the goggles take up minimum space in the pocket, are very lightweight and comfortable. In the pocket the headband also fits behind the lens protecting it from scratching. The Porsche Design Ski Goggles were made by Carrera. 5/9
1976 Porsche Design Sports Sunglasses This complete sun protection is extremely light and an ideal example of the famous "less is more" maxim. What makes the sunglasses special is the functionality of the design: there is no separation between lens and frame because the polycarbonate panoramic lens serves also as part of the structure. That makes an all around sunscreen possible. The form of the glasses therefore follows its function. The Porsche Design Sport Glasses were made by Carrera. 6/9
