Would you ride the bus if the bus is faster than your current commute time? Yes 65 54% No 34 28% If no, why not? won't ride public transit with gang bangers/ longer commute times/ don't believe in government welfare transportation don't work downtown need to meet with clients maybe to ball games only 5 miles from work more convenient to drive choose own time to leave don't travel downtown often I go through Minneapolis to St. Paul employer not downtown Depart time varies daily in evening and I stop at Lifetime in Eden Prairie People who want to commute that far adjust otherwise or move closer in. Limits flexibility Don't commute to downtown don't work downtown Need car for client visits I currently drive no need schedule varies too much too noisy, no privacy & need to drive to bus pickup location not flexible I have travel needs during the day Need driving flexibility during the work day Need flexibility my end time is variable Maybe some of the time. bus is bumpy, uncomfortable

12. What would be your reason(s) for riding the bus? Check all that apply. Save money 51 42% Avoid traffic congestion 76 63% Environmental concerns 31 26% Vehicle unavailable 7 6% Don t own a vehicle 1 1% Other 11 9% Other: Can relax on trip Read on trip Use travel time productively Stop driving Poor weather Can work/play on bus None Too much traffic on Hwy 55 13. Would you find a park and ride lot at the Medina Entertainment Center convenient? Yes 91 75% No 11 9% Don t know/unsure 4 3% If no, why not? Do not commute downtown The residents in that area have enough problems I live in Medina and my business is in Plymouth. Do not use bus. There are many of us who very strenuously object to this location. Expect an organized and vociferous lobby. Work in Mpls; Live in Mpls With my work schedule having a personal car is essential I would have to drive there and park outside Medina doesn't need this period. We are not Plymouth!!! We need to stop trying to be like them or other communities. People move to this town to get away from the city and regular suburbs.

Additional Comments: I would take the bus at Medina even if the bus commute was longer because it is closer to my home. So overall commute would be shorter This is a growing community. Very soon my kids will ride the bus to UMN or St. Thomas. Thank you. I am retired, but go downtown for dental appointments and a few other things. I now drive to Brookdale to catch a bus daytime hours to get downtown. It would be wonderful if I could catch a bus closer by driving daytime regular hours. Would love a facility at Medina Entertainment Center How soon can you start! Mass transit to Medina will increase crime from those who live in Minneapolis riding to Medina! Show us the crime statistics on Mpls buses. The Met Council are a bunch of socialists who enforce their socialist agenda on suburban communities. They will continue to destroy what has made Medina a unique community!!! I am not a commuter but occasionally might take the bus to town. I would welcome a commuter bus for downtown events, Twins, Wolves, Orpheum, etc. Years ago there was a bus stop at Sioux & 55. Would like to see that again. I would likely use the park and ride for sporting events, concerts, state fair, etc. So far we do drive most of the time where ever we go, but there are times when we would use a bus if available that close. What a great idea, especially for seniors. I guess the Medina Entertainment Center is as good as any place for a Park & Ride Please do this!! It is sometimes difficult to get to the Peony/Old Rockford Road bus stop because no sidewalks/path along Hwy 116 easy to get to. Plus, with all the new homes along 116 it would be great to have a park & ride at Medina Entertainment Center Thanks for giving this some attention Thanks for conducting the survey! Looking forward to seeing the results. Would use busing to go downtown for sporting events. Saves the hassle of finding parking and paying for parking. Wouldn't use it that often. If the City spends money on this, make sure the bus riders pay for it. I'm tired of being subject to your rain tax to pay for projects that benefit others. Direct taxation should only be applied to projects that benefit everyone. I would go into Minneapolis more often if I didn't have to drive there and park. $$ It would be great to have a Park & Ride at the Medina Entertainment Center. I would use it every day. Thanks! A few years ago our newly graduated adult son lived with us and used the Messiah Park & Ride to downtown Mpls. Perhaps our next son will too, but neither of us work downtown. Thanks for this! Would be very great to have a bus route! Our daughter did a summer internship downtown. She balked at taking the bus (from Wayzata) but admitted it was fast and convenient. It just isn't an option for my husband's location and schedule.

No bus station. Don't see there is a huge demonstrated need for this type of traffic increase. Roads aren't adequately supported as is. I would love to see more transit in Plymouth/Medina. Medina Entertainment Center would be great. I would LOVE a park & ride at Medina Entertainment Center I don't want the bus coming to Medina at all. But that wasn't an option on your survey I think the first question on the survey should be 1. Do you want the Plymouth bus coming to Medina? Yes or No. I would be willing to be the vast majority would be "No". It does not keep with the rural look feel that the residents want. Public transportation will also bring crime to the area and make it more like Plymouth and Maple Grove. That is not what the residents want. Public transportation will also bring crime to the area and make it more like Plymouth and Maple Grove. That is not what the residents of Medina want. Personally, I don't find any need for such a build out in our community. We simply don't need the added tax burden during this time of economic uncertainty. Are we pandering for Section 8 housing! Look we do not need to give any more free stuff. I am retired and do not need to go to mpls for anything. But given the new developments in Medina, it is good to go ahead with this in order to provide transportation for the increasing population. The wording of this Bus Survey makes it inapplicable to us because we like many of our neighbors, are retired and not involved in daily commutes downtown. We would have some interest in using the bus service if it had a regular schedule of round trips to and from downtown throughout the day. Eagerly waiting for this I do not need bus service I still drive and never have a need to go downtown. If I still worked downtown, I would very much like to have bus transportation available. I am 75. Thanks! I have been using Metro Transit Link and appreciate the door to door pick up and delivery. For seniors this form of transportation is important. Many would also appreciate Metro Mobility. Retired, but would love the convenience of a bus to downtown. Would save the hassles of driving, parking, etc. As it is, we have to travel to the Hopkins Crossroads Park & Ride to take a bus downtown. Perhaps when my wife and I retire in the next couple of years we may take advantage of the bus service I used to catch the 772 bus from Medina Entertainment Center when we first moved here in 1991. I have missed it when it moved from there. Our senior bldg does not provide a van so we have really wanted Metro Link to help us. I would have no interest in a bus that has multiple stops. Am retired so not applicable however believe the Medina Entertainment would be a wonderful option for commuters in this area. Would like an express bus from Medina Entertainment Center to get downtown in 1/2 hour. Not interested in one that makes a lot of stops and takes 45 minutes A Park & Ride is very needed in Medina I would utilize a park and ride lot at Medina Entertainment Center 5 days a week. Very supportive of proposal. I welcome any further questions and I am excited about the possibility

I would utilize a bus to St. Paul!!! Please consider this as well. # 1 priority is to improve existing Hwy 55 & 116 intersections, and to better time lights at 101N & 55. A bus would also be nice so that we could get to the airport using public transportation I love this idea! Please make it happen soon! I would pay more to ride a coach us with wifi (the SW Transit buses) if that's possible. Survey instructions were not clear if all Medina residents should fill these out or only those who work downtown. Also is this 1 per hhld or per adult? The survey instructions were not clear if all Medina residents should be answering or only those who commute downtown. That would be great for Medina residents. It s about time. For those that commute downtown, I would support any form of mass transit It is my view that bus lines promote high density housing. The reason my family moved to Medina was because high density housing was not prevalent. If that strategy changes you will have a high level exodus of current Medina homeowners. Please protect our city's open space! I am responding to the survey but there is no sense sending it because my commute is about 4 minutes at the longest. So I drive and if the weather is really nice I walk. I telecommute from home and am on call 24x7, so bus service is not an option. If the bus ran to Roseville, I would utilize the park & ride on days when I don't need to travel between work locations. I would love to have a commuter bus to bring me downtown. I spend a lot of money in gas and parking every day. While I don't use the bus service I still think it is a good idea for Medina to be part of a BRT and to have a bus stop within its boundaries especially as our population grows. It's about time this is being considered. With all the new housing that's been approved (Elm Creek Property; South of 55; Hamel & Further in Medina), wondering where all those cars are going to go in the morning. It is currently INTOLERABLE & getting worse!!! Maybe consider more busing of teenagers as well. I also think that every teenager at Wayzata High School drives a car to school adding to the congestion. Honestly don't know why the city is able to approve all this housing development when clearly Plymouth and Medina do not have infrastructure to support!
