Readiness and Conveying Hoppers Hoppers The hopper is the readiness store in the automatic assembly line. People-intensive inspection, replenishment and filling up are reduced; even unmanned shifts are made possible. By employing hoppers, we ensure a continuous, ideal level in the spiral conveyor; this is easy on the equipment and on the material conveyed. A down-stream linear conveyor guarantees continuous, monitored supply to each escapement mechanism. The exit track The perfect exit track is the prerequisite for your uninterrupted supply. Our exit tracks are, of course, hardenedand polished. With more than 20,000 deliveredscrewing and assembly systems with automatic feed, we know what we are talking about.
Sorting and Buffering Vibrating spiral conveyor, linear conveyor Vibrating spiral conveyor For small parts and connection elements, the WEBER spiral conveyor is the optimum solution with regard to flexible adaptation, part size, volume, reliability and economy. Removable sound-enclosure covers guarantee low noise emission and quick access to the unit. Selected materials for the feeder bowl (plastic and steel), standard geometries and special interior coatings protect the conveyed material, reduce the noise level, and guarantee a long lifetime. Intelligent feeder vibration controls keep the feeder in optimum operating condition and allow demand-oriented control. Linear conveyor This compensates for irregularity in the demand for parts and in escapement, after the manner of a buffer. A min./max. control protects the conveyed material, and interrupts noise emission. Faults in the area of feeding are recognised early on.
Escapement and Merging One-by-one escapement mechanism, distributors, feed tube, feed track Swivel escapement Our swivel escapement was developed specifically for parts with a square cross-section, such as topheavy screws or nuts. It not only ensures reliable escapement, but also correct positioning at hand-over. Shank-heavy screws are guided precisely in the pusher escapement by head and shank. This is the only way to avoid problems with escapement. Distributors Distributors are used to supply two or more screwdrivers from one spiral conveyor; Collectors supply one screwdriver with screws of different lengths from two spiral conveyors. Investment costs and space requirements can thus be reduced. Escapement mechanism Our escapement for Allen set screws is a masterpiece of mechanical sorting and escapement technology. We have deliberately dispensed with optical and electromagnetic systems in favour of high availability. Feed tube, feed track The most complicated parts must often be transported long distances. The flexible feed tube makes this possible. The logical extension is our invention of the swivel-arm principle, which is built into our screwdrivers. WEBER were the first to transport nuts in profiled feed tubes. More than 40 years of experience give us the confidence to apply this principle to other parts as well. If the profiled tube cannot be used, our equally proven steel profiled track can be used.
Monitoring and Controlling Control systems Monitoring sensors Control systems, monitoring sensors It is the correct choice of sensors and controls that combines the individual components to form a fully automatic WEBER feeder system. Deviations in the process or in the parts are recognised immediately, and faults are indicatedearly, thus minimising their effects. Monitoring capabilities _ In the hopper (feeder-level monitoring) _ In the vibrating spiral conveyor (refill time) _ In the exit track (jammed washers) _ In the linear conveyor (min./max. monitoring) _ In the escapement mechanism (part input) _ In the distributor (part-position recognition) _ In the feed tube (part-position recognition) _ Before the screwdriving head (screw missing) _ In the screwdriving head (presence of screw)
