Media General precautions. Always thoroughly flush out (blow with compressed air) the piping before connecting it. Entering metal chips, sealing tape, rust, etc., generated during plumbing may cause air leaks or other malfunctions. 2. Use air for the media. Consult us for the use of any other media. 3. Air used for the cylinder should be clean, dry air that contains no deteriorated compressor oil, etc.. Install an air filter (filtration of µm or less) near the cylinder or valve to remove drain contaminants or dust. In addition, drain the air filter periodically. Drain contaminants or dust entering into the cylinder may result in improper operation. Lubrication. This equipment can be used without lubrication. If lubrication is used, it must be turbine oil Class (ISO VG32) or its equivalents. Avoid using spindle oil or machine oil. 2. or the Guide section, apply lithium based grease on the track rail guide surfaces at six month intervals or every 0km. Atmosphere Install a cover, etc., when operating in locations near dripping water, dripping oil, etc., or large amount of dust. ALPHA SERIES ROD SLIDERS 782
Handling Instructions, and Precautions Mounting and stroke adjustment End keep cylinder control circuit Manual override of locking mechanism Mounting. Although there are no particular restrictions on the mounting direction, the mounting surface should always be flat. Twisting or bending during mounting may reduce accuracy and also result in air leakage or improper operation. 2. Be careful to avoid scratching or denting the rod slider s mounting surface, since it may damage the flatness of the surface. 3. or large shocks, mount a support mechanism, etc., on the rod slider body to reinforce the bolt mounting. 4. Ensure adequate strength for the rod slider body and mounting bolt. 5. Be particularly cautious of locktiting screws, in cases where shocks or vibrations may lead to bolt loosening.. Avoid scratching or denting the piston rod s surface. It could lead to damaged seals or air leakage. adjustment. Standard cylinder and end keep cylinder In the standard cylinder, the stroke can be easily adjusted on both the extend and retract sides within a range of, while in the end keep cylinder it can be adjusted on the extend side only within a range of. or the retract side, turning the stopper bolt for retract side stroke adjustment to the left (counterclockwise) shortens the stroke. or the extend side, turning the stopper bolt to the right (clockwise) shortens the stroke. After adjustment, tighten the locknut and fix it in place. The stroke at delivery is set to the standard stroke. Do not adjust it to larger than the standard stroke. 2. Cylinder with shock absorber In the cylinder with shock absorber (ARSZ), the stroke can be adjusted by using the stopper bolt or shock absorber. If the stopper bolt is used for stroke adjustment, leave a gap of 00.5 between the stopper block and shock absorber after completing adjustment with the stopper bolt, as shown in the diagram below. An adjustment to more than 0.5 will greatly reduce the shock absorber s absorption capacity. If the shock absorber is used for stroke adjustment, push the shock absorber directly up against the stopper block to make the adjustment. The stroke at delivery is set to the standard stroke. Do not adjust it to larger than the specified standard stroke. 00.5 Stopper block Shock absorber 00.5. or control of rod slider end keep cylinders, we recoend the use of 2- position, 4-, 5-port valves. Avoid the use of ABR connection (exhaust center) 3- position valves or other control circuits whose center position has delivery ports open to exhaust. 2. Always use meter-out control for speed control. Meter-in control may result in failure of the locking mechanism to release. 3. Set the air pressure at 0.2MPa {2.0kgf cm 2 } or more. Cautions:. It is dangerous to supply air to a connection port on a side with a locking mechanism while cylinder has previously been exhausted because the piston rod may suddenly extend or retract. In addition, since the lock piston may scuff the piston rod, resulting in improper operation, always supply air to the connection port opposite the port adjacent to the end keep to ensure back pressure. 2. When restarting operations after air has been exhausted from the cylinder due to completion of operations or to an emergency stop, always start by supplying air to a connection port on the side without a locking mechanism. 3. Connect valve port A (NC) to a connection port on the side with a locking mechanism. Shock absorber Bore size While the locking mechanism is normally released automatically through cylinder operations, it can also be released manually. or manual release, insert an M.5 screw that is long from the neck into the manual override opening, thread it in about three turns into the internal lock piston, and then pull up on the screw. To maintain a state of temporary release for adjustment, etc., pair the screw with a locknut and, with the lock in a released state, tighten the locknut against the cylinder side. Pull M.5 screw Lock nut Cautions:. It is dangerous to release the lock when a load (weight) is present on the piston rod because it may cause in a sudden fall or cause the piston rod to extend or retract. In this case, always supply air to a connection port on the side without the locking mechanism before releas-ing the locking mechanism. 2. If the locking mechanism cannot easily be released even with manual operation, it could be the result of the lock piston and piston rod scuffing. In this case, as well, supply air to a connection port on the side without the locking mechanism before releasing the locking mechanism. 3. Because water, oil, dust, etc., entering through the manual override opening may cause defective locks or other erratic operation, install a cover, etc., for protection when using in locations exposed to dripping water, oil, or to large amount of dust, etc. 3. Tightening torque of fixing nut Before using and after stroke adjustment, tighten the nut with the tightening torque shown below. Do not tighten to more than the values shown below, as such action could damage the unit.
