Emulator AUTOPASS V2 Installation guide Module description The CAN bus interface module (Emulator) Auto Pass V2, (referred to as Module in these instruction) is used to simulate a fully working exhaust after treatment and NOx sensor systems for Mercedes trucks fitted with the Temic engine ECU. The Module receives the data from CAN bus, calculates the required values and transmits the new data to engine ECU. The Module can be installed on vehicles with a working SCR system and also on vehicles with critical faults in SCR system and NOx sensors. To simulate the correct values for the air pressure and the Adblue pressure sensors resistors are connected to the vehicle wiring. These resistors simulate the correct pressure signals and are used instead of the original pressure sensors. Table 1. Connection the module to the diagnostic OBD II connector. 2. Simulation of the air pressure and AdBlue pressure sensors. 3. Power disconnection of the SCR system and NOx sensor. 4. Erasing fault codes from the memory of engine control module (if it is necessary). 1
1. Connecting the emulator to the diagnostic OBD II connector. The connection must be made according to the scheme below. Installation must be carried out in the cabin next to the diagnostic connector. 2. Simulation of the air pressure and AdBlue pressure sensors. Disconnect air pressure and AdBlue pressure sensors (picture below) from sockets on the diffuser. Install resistors as shown in the wiring diagram with values as shown. After fitment ensure connections are protected against moisture (use silicone sealer and heat shrink tubing as required) with the resistors fitted the Air pressure will constantly read 1,5 Bar and the Adblue pressure will constantly read 5,7 Bar. 2
Location of the diffuser on the V6 and V8 engines are shown in the photo below. 3. Power disconnection of SCR system and NOx sensor For Mercedes Actros Disconnect the power from SCR system by fuse F1 (15A), located in fuse holder А1. To disconnect the NOx cut the power wire on the NOx sensor plate (installed on the muffler). Alternatively remove wires connected to pin 7 and pin 4 from the connector Х6.2. 3
For Mercedes Axor and Mercedes Atego Disconnect the power from SCR system by fuse F1 (15A), located in fuse holder А1. To disconnect the NOx remove or cut the wire connected to pin 12 in the connector Х4.2. Х4.2. Alternatively remove wires connected to pin 12 and pin 9 from the connector ATTENTION! Access to the connector Х 4.2 can be obtained from the vehicle cabin. 4
Install recommendation Attention! It is highly recommended running a diagnostic before and after solution dosing system AdBlue disabling. During diagnostic testing, it is recommended to pay special attention to the following parameters: - The presence of errors affecting the power and the fuel consumption of the vehicle errors relating to inlet air pressure errors relating to fuel pressure errors relating to outside temperature sensor indications errors indicating a problem with the data bus of the SCR system and NOx sensor systems.
