Make charging simple with the Charge CP700A charging point. No matter where you use the system at your company s parking lot, in your neighborhood, or in a city or supermarket parking lot the charging point enables you to charge your electric vehicle safely and easily anywhere. See for yourself! Charge CP700A: simply charge! Step 1: Identifying yourself Present your contactless access card to the charging point. You will be identified and the charging point will unlock, enabling you to connect your vehicle. Step 2: Plugging in the cable and charging After the identification process, open the flap to reveal the power plugs. The plugs are lit to ensure easy identification and connection even in the dark. Connect your charging cable and close the flap. The flap will lock to ensure that your cable is securely and safely held within the charging point. Connect your vehicle. The charging point will check the safety of the connection and once confirmed, the charging process will begin. Step 3: Ending the charging process To stop the charge or at the end of the charging process when your vehicle is fully charged, simply present your access card. The flap will unlock, enabling you to remove the cable. You can see how much energy has been provided so that you can close the flap and drive off, confident that your vehicle has been charged in a safe and controlled manner. 6

Reliable locking of charging flap In addition to the electromechanical locking for the three-phase plug, the Charge CP700A charging point goes beyond the standards and offers enhanced safety via locking for the single-phase plug as well. Outlets and plugs, both single- and three-phase, are covered by the flap that locks during the charging process and therefore prevents inadvertent disconnection of the plugs. The flap also provides protection against vandalism. Explanation of terms: Charging mode 1 The vehicle is connected directly to a compatible outlet of the existing single or three-phase system using any plug. 8

Certified metering of energy consumption Safe and service-friendly maintenance Use of proven low-voltage devices Protection devices like miniature circuit breakers and circuit breakers offer reliable protection against overloading and short circuits. They can be supplemented with add-on components and integrated into a control system so that the charging point s operating status and any outages (error messages) can be detected remotely. Switching devices and contactors controlled by the control unit can reliably connect and disconnect the charging outlets power supply. Certified metering of energy consumption A certified digital energy meter shows consumption [kwh] with high precision. Built-in residual current protective device for a high degree of personnel protection Temperature monitoring of outlets and interior Sensors measure the internal temperature of the charging point and the temperature at the outlets to ensure that all electrical components are working within the temperature limits of the equipment. If a temperature limit is exceeded, the power is shut down to protect the charging point. Stable and weather-resistant housing Made from stainless steel for outdoor use and protection against vandalism. GSM-/GPRS-antenna integrated in housing Vandalism protection according to IK10. Safe and service-friendly maintenance For the service technician s safety during maintenance work, opening the service door immediately shuts off the charging current. In the event of a disturbance, an alarm is sent to the control center, and suitable measures can be initiated from there (for example, resetting the miniature circuit breaker). All electrical connections (point of connection) within the housing are securely covered to prevent contact with fingers and hands. The integrated fault memory within the device enables fast fault identification and correction. 9 Charging mode 2 The vehicle is connected to a compatible outlet of the existing single or three-phase system via an inline module, using any plug. The inline module covers the most essential protective functions (monitoring of the protective ground conductor, monitoring of the current, personnel protection through residual fault protection). Charging mode 3 The vehicle is connected to stationary EVSE (electric vehicle supply equipment) with a standardized plug designed for charging of electric vehicle. The EVSE covers the essential protective functions (monitoring of the protective ground conductor, monitoring of the current, personnel protection 9 through residual fault protection).

Guided charging process External lighting Light behind the flap Modular, flexible and fast Due to the modular design of the power systems within the CP700A, a range of different requirements can be easily addressed: Automatic adjustment of maximum permitted charging capacity (optional) The charging point recognizes the maximum permitted charging capacity in charging mode 3. Depending on what that capacity is, the charging point selectively activates the 20 A or 32 A power line. The charging point charges the vehicle as fast as possible, within the limits set by the car and the charging cable. Energy metering (optional) The Charge CP700A can be supplied with or without a certified meter, depending on the billing model. Communication (optional) Communication to the control center or smart grid network control can be via an Ethernet connection or through the integral GSM/GPRS modem (optional). Simple operation! The intuitive operation and well-designed technology make the Charge CP700A charging point extraordinarily customer-friendly: Guided charging process A display in four standard languages (German, English, Spanish, French; others on request) safely guides users through the charging process, from start to finish. Energy consumption and cost display This display appears after charging is complete. Cost is shown only if a price is associated with the charging transaction. Ambient lighting The ambient light signals show whether the charging point is available or is being used. It also makes it easier to find in low visibility and facilitates connection and operation in the dark. Light behind the flap The light behind the flap makes it easier to insert the plug and read the data on the meter display. Cable case A The cable is firmly attached to the vehicle. The pilot project is intended to provide a better understanding of usage habits and the additional demands that will be placed on vehicles and infrastructure. Project Pilot Region Electric Mobility Munich Working with BMW AG and the Munich municipal utility company (Stadtwerke München SWM), Siemens is carrying out a joint project on electromobility in the Munich model region. The project partners learn more about user behavior and preferences based on different scenarios. In addition, innovative technical components products and systems for electromobility are being developed and tested in the course of the project. AC charging point from 3 kw/230 V to 22 kw/400 VAC The Sitraffic Epos charging point combines the functionality of a charging point and a parking ticket dispensing machine. AC charging point from 3 kw/230 V to 22 kw/400 VAC The innovative Charge CP700A charging point with built-in safety offers modular options for application-based solutions for all types of electric vehicles, including selective 20 A or 32 A charging and Ethernet as well as integrated GSM/GPRS modem for communication with the control center or maintenance center for remote diagnosis and maintenance. Up to 7.7 kw/240 VAC Siemens offers a flexible charging system for the American market. Depending on the application or type of use, the system can take the form of a charging point or wall mount.
