Professional tools 1 From Phoenix Contact General information Good results can only be obtained with the right tools. For this reason, Phoenix Contact offers suitable tools for each application. The product range consists of: Cable cutters Safety tools Stripping tools Crimping pliers Screwdrivers Operating tools Profile cutters and the Universal control cabinet key. The tools shown are only part of the Phoenix Contact product range. Further special tools can be found in the different catalogs with the respective applications or contact types. The stripping tools are suitable for conductors with PVC, PUR, TPE or PFTE insulations, depending on the design. They automatically adapt to the corresponding conductor cross section and thus make operation easier. The spring-loaded blades ideally adjust to the conductor shape and thereby prevent damage to the wires. The crimping pliers make it possible to process ferrules with and without insulating collars, cable lugs and slip-on sleeves. Everything from a single source in order to ensure optimum contacting, Phoenix Contact offers a wide range of ferrules. The matching products guarantee secure crimping and contacting of the conductors. 456 Phoenix c, n ct

Cutting Phoenix Contact has the perfect cable cutter for every application. There are different designs for processing cables of a conductor diameter up to 52 mm. All parts of the cable cutters that are under particular strain are tempered or specially hardened. This ensures a high cutting efficiency over a long period of time. The specific design of the blades means that conductors can be cut easily and tidily. Safety tools Safety tools from Phoenix Contact are ideal for working on or in the vicinity of live parts up to 1000 V alternating voltage or 1500 V direct voltage. The tools are manufactured in the VDE signal colors red/yellow and printed with the mark of conformity. This makes them easily identifiable as VDE tools, thus preventing misuse. Stripping Stripping with tools from Phoenix Contact The QUICK WIREFOX stripping tools from Phoenix Contact are equipped with spring-loaded lamellar knives that adjust to the respective conductor shape and cross section. They prevent wires from being damaged during stripping. Crimping pliers The CRIMPFOX crimping pliers from Phoenix Contact allow ferrules and cable lugs with and without insulating collars, slip-on sleeves and contacts to be processed. All pliers feature an integrated pressure lock. This does not unlock until the necessary pressure has been reached, thus eliminating the possibility of too little pressure. Tightening screws and actuation For every screw size there is a corresponding screwdriver. The special blades of the Phoenix Contact screwdrivers have a large bearing surface in the screw head. Only in this way can the required torque be achieved with adequate force and without damaging the screw head. The ergonomically designed handles ensure fatigue-free work. Cutting profiles The PPS Phoenix Contact profile cutters can be used to cut EN DIN rails, wiring ducts and neutral busbars fast, almost burr-free and with dimensional accuracy. Using the additionally available stamping bits, both elongated holes and round holes can be stamped in various sizes. Phoenix Contact 457

Safety tools Safety tools from Phoenix Contact are suitable for work on or in the vicinity of live parts up to 100 V AC voltage or 1500 V DC voltage. The safety regulations must be observed. These tools have twocomponent ergonomic and anti-slip safety handles. The red-yellow signal color and the printed mark of conformity identify them as VDE tools, thus eliminating possible misuse. The tools are tested in acc. with DIN EN 60 900 (VDE 0682 part 201). For this purpose, the insulation handles are subjected to an impact test with heat and cold. Each tool is then checked for the electrical insulation properties in an individual voltage test. A voltage of 10,000 V is applied in a water bath for 3 minutes, disruptive charges are not permitted. A further breakdown test is carried out after two hour storage in the warming cabinet at 70 C. The handle covers are charged at certain points and a voltage of 5000 V is applied for 5 minutes. After the insulation handles have been stored for a week at 70 C, they are checked for medium-force fit with a stripping force of 500 N. VDE CZ VDE SZ / VDE SZG Pkt. Order No. FA. Crimping pliers for ferrules Great importance has been placed on energy-saving work with these pliers. Therefore the manual force needed with CRIMPFOX UD 6-4 and CRIMPFOX UD 6-6 is spread equally between 4 or 6 jaws. The ergonomically shaped pliers are only 175 mm long. The way in which the handles and the die are arranged means that the ferrules can be fitted however the tool is held. It is therefore not necessary to hold ones hand at an angle. Crimping pliers for cable lugs and plugs I th All pliers feature an integrated pressure lock. This unlocks as soon as the necessary pressure has been reached, thus eliminating the possibility of too little pressure. The marking on the die clearly allocates the cross section for non-insulated cable lugs and plugs. In the case of pliers for insulated cable lugs and plugs, a color coding on the dies makes allocation easier, and the maximum cross section is impressed on the cable lug by the particular die. Ferrules with insulating collar, in acc. with DIN 46 228-4 Ferrules from Phoenix Contact with lactic insulating sleeves are made of soft trolytic copper with tin plating. A special feature of these ferrules is that the closer the connections are, the more reliable the insulation is and the less likely the wires are to splice. The plastic insulating sleeves simplify the fitting onto the conductor and the colors denote the size of the cross section. - ') These ferrules are not included in DIN 46 228-4 : 1990-09. Battery-operated screwdrivers The battery-operated screwdriver, ASD 6 from Phoenix Contact is the ideal one-hand tool for effectively connecting conductors to screw connections, e.g. terminal blocks. The torque can be manually adjusted in six stages. The automatic torque limit ensures a constant torque which can be reproduced at any time. The handle can be adjusted to either straight or angled and is designed according to the latest ergonomic trends. This, together with the light weight, enables easy and fatigue-free operation of the tool in any Ition. When switched off, the version h a straight handle can be loaded with up to 15 Nm. pp-- Profile cutters PPS with stamp bits The PPS STANDARD can be fitted at the factory with two stamping bits if desired. The PPS CLASSIC is advantageous where hole sizes often change. By simply folding open the upper part of the PPS, the stamping bits can be changed in no time at all. With the manually operated profile cutters, the optimally adjusted leverage ensures minimum energy expenditure. PPS STANDARD...
