The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the Accessory Installation Practices document. Socket (10 mm), Ratchet 1. Vehicle Preparation (Fig. 1-1) a. Apply parking brake. b. Protect fender before starting. c. Remove the negative ( ) battery terminal. Fig. 1-1 CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool during removal. d. Using the protective blanket, cover front seat, side of the shift lever and center console. e. Place removed vehicle components on a protective blanket. 2. Vehicle Disassembly a. Remove left instrument panel garnish. 1. Using your hands, disengage 2 clips and remove instrument panel garnish (Fig. 1-2). NOTE : Pull instrument panel garnish up at a 45º angle to remove it. Fig. 1-2 b. Remove right instrument panel garnish. 1. Using your hands, disengage 2 clips and remove instrument panel garnish (Fig. 1-3). Fig. 1-3 Page 4 of 16

Panel Removal Tool c. Remove upper center console on Automatic Transmission. 1. Depress shift lock and move shift lever to the Neutral position. 2. Unscrew shift knob. Fig. 1-4 3. Disengage 3 claws and 5 clips with panel removal tool (Fig. 1-4). NOTE: Apply protective tape to the pry area. 4. Disconnect any connectors and remove. Panel Removal Tool d. Remove upper console shift boot panel for Manual Transmission. 1. Unscrew shift knob. 2. Disengage 2 claws and 5 clips with panel removal tool & remove panel (Fig. 1-5). NOTE: Apply protective tape to the pry area. Fig. 1-5 Panel Removal Tool e. Remove center console garnish on Manual Transmission. 1. Disengage 3 claws and 5 clips with panel removal tool (Fig. 1-6). NOTE: Apply protective tape to the pry area. 2. Disconnect connector and remove garnish. Fig. 1-6 Page 5 of 16

Phillips Screw Driver f. Remove upper center console panel assembly. (Fig. 1-7) 1. Remove two (2) Phillips screws. 2. Disengage four (4) claws. 3. Disconnect connectors & remove panel. Fig. 1-7 g. Remove instrument panel air vent assembly. 1. Apply protective tape as shown (Fig. 1-8). NOTE: Protective tape is not required for removing the HVAC vents if pried from the bottom of the bezel and then pulled to remove. Fig. 1-8 Panel Removal Tool 2. Using panel removal tool, disengage three (3) clips on left side (Fig. 1-9). 3. Disengage four (4) clips on right side. 4. Disconnect any connectors and pull straight back. 5. Remove HVAC air vent assembly. Fig. 1-9 Page 6 of 16

Socket (10 mm), Ratchet h. Remove four (4) radio bolts. 1. Using a 10 mm socket remove the four (4) radio bolts (Fig. 1-10). Fig. 1-10 i. Gently pull out the radio (Fig. 1-11). 1. Rest on a support platform to prevent scratching of dash panels. NOTE: Be careful not to put too much tension on the radio connections when pulling out the radio. 2. Unplug all connectors and set radio aside. Fig. 1-11 Panel Removal Tool 3. BLU Logic Switch Installation a. Remove driver side door scuff plate. 1. Disengage with panel tool and remove (Fig. 1-12). Panel Removal Tool b. Remove the driver side cowl side trim (Fig. 1-13). 1. Unscrew the cowl side trim clip. Cowl Side Trim Clip 2. Disengage two (2) clips and remove the cowl side trim. Fig. 1-13 10 mm Socket/Ratchet c. Remove the finish panel covering the knee airbag. 1. Remove bolt located on the lower left corner of the finish panel using a 10mm ratchet/socket (Fig. 1-14). Fig. 1-14 Phillips Screwdriver 2. Remove the Phillips screw located on the bottom right corner of the finish panel (Fig. 1-15). Fig. 1-15 Page 8 of 16

3. Using your hands, gently pull out the finish panel to disengage the six (6) clips and four (4) claws (Fig. 1-16). NOTE - Start from the bottom and work your way up. 4. Disconnect all connectors. Fig. 1-16 5. Remove hood latch cable by sliding the plastic end to the right to release it from the lock (Fig. 1-17). Fig. 1-17 d. Mount the BLU Logic switch. 1. Remove the blank plug. 2. Squeeze the locking tabs together and push to remove the blank plug (Fig. 1-18). Fig. 1-18 Page 9 of 16

3. Mount BLU Logic switch in place of the blank plug (Fig. 1-19). NOTE: Solid white arrow should be pointing up. Fig. 1-19 e. Wrap the switch wire with 13 cm of 1/4 split wire loom (Fig. 1-20). 1. Secure split wire loom with tape and set aside. Fig. 1-20 f. Route the receptacle end of the switch extension cable. 1. Go up through the opening of the radio towards the driver side finish panel (Fig. 1-21). Fig. 1-21 Page 10 of 16

2. Route above knee air bag and behind the metal bracket as shown (Fig. 1-22). CAUTION: To avoid injuries, be careful when routing wire around sharp metal brace. NOTE: Provide sufficient slack to connect to the switch. Attach to the air duct below the steering column if existing harness is not available. 3. Secure the cable to existing wire loom with wire ties marked with the yellow circles and cut off excess wire ties. NOTE: Rollover Image Available. Knee SRS bag removed for visual purposes only in Rollover View. Do not remove for install. Panel Removal Tool g. Remove left trim panel. 1. Using your hands, gently pull out the panel and remove (Fig. 1-23). 2. Disconnect any connectors and set aside. Fig. 1-23 Side Cutters 3. Secure switch extension (highlighted in orange) to the power mirror harness with a wire tie (Fig. 1-24). NOTE: Make sure switch extension goes up and over the plastic cross brace pointed out by the yellow arrow. Fig. 1-24 Page 11 of 16

Panel Removal Tool 4. Microphone Installation. a. Remove the panel to the right of the steering column (Fig. 1-25). 1. Using your hands or a panel removal tool, disengage the clips and remove. Fig. 1-25 b. Remove instrument cluster bezel. 1. Remove two (2) plastic inserts. 2. Using a flathead screwdriver or other appropriate tool, remove clip by pushing in on center of pin to release (Fig. 1-26). 3. Using your hands, remove instrument cluster bezel starting from the bottom (Rollover Image). c. Route microphone wire. 1. Apply 20cm of the 1/4 split wire loom to the microphone end of the cable leaving a minimum of 8mm of wire exposed (microphone side). 2. Secure wire loom with tape. 3. Route through the opening of the bezel (Fig. 1-27). Fig. 1-27 Page 12 of 16

4. Continue down towards the opening of the radio behind the cross brace (Fig. 1-28). 5. Leave enough slack to mount the microphone. 6. Secure the microphone wire with wire ties marked by the yellow circles (Fig. 1-28). Fig. 1-28 d. Mount the microphone. 1. Clean the bezel with VDC approved cleaner. 2. Mount the microphone on the right rear corner of the bezel to minimize the amount of exposed wire visible to the customer. 0-8mm of exposed wire when the bezel is installed is acceptable (Fig. 1-29). NOTE: Rollover Image Available. 3. Wrap the microphone wire around the back-side of the bezel and secure in place with foam pad (Fig. 1-30). NOTE: Foam tape used to secure cable out of way during install only. 4. Reinstall the bezel. 5. Reinstall the two side panels. 6. Reinstall hood latch cable, knee panel, cowl side trim and driver side scuff plate. Fig. 1-30 NOTE: Telescope the steering wheel all the way out to verify wires won t be pulled or stretched. Side Cutters 7. Remove most of the slack on the microphone wire. 8. Bundle up excess microphone and switch wire and secure to existing wire loom (Fig. 1-31). NOTE: Microphone wire is highlighted in blue and wire tie is circled in yellow. 5. Interface Module Installation a. Mount the interface module. Fig. 1-31 Side Cutters 1. Secure the module to the metal bracket on the right of the radio cavity with two (2) wire ties (Fig. 1-32). NOTE: DO NOT remove the protective foam wrapping on the module. 2. Connect main power harness to interface module. Note: The Red connector is connected to the matching Red connector on the module. 3. Secure to existing wire loom with wire ties (shown in yellow). Cut of excess wire ties. 4. Connect the main power harness to the matching vehicle s radio harness (Fig 1-33). Fig. 1-32 NOTE: AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector may not be present on the vehicle s harness. Wire tie this connector to the harness unconnected, but ALWAYS connect the AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector into the radio. If AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector is present on vehicle harness, connect to jumper provided with BLU Logic unit. 5. Reinstall radio and all panels. NOTE: If any other accessories are installed that connect to the head unit, BLU Logic should be the unit that plugs into the radio first. b. Position negative battery terminal at the original factory position (tighten the nut to 36 in-lbs (4.07 N.m). Fig. 1-33 CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool during installation. c. Place the owner s manual in the glove box. Page 14 of 16

6. Apply BLU Logic decal to BLU Logic switch. (Only kits manufactured on or after the date code on the front page will include the BLU Logic decal). a. Remove the protective backing on the round portion of the BLU Logic sticker (Fig. 1-34). Fig. 1-34 b. Apply it to the center of the switch so that the sticker hangs towards the right as shown in Fig. 1-35. NOTE: Photo shown may not match the switch installation location for this vehicle and is for illustrative purposes. Fig. 1-35 Page 15 of 16

CHECKLIST these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Make sure radio and interior lights (if applicable) are turned off. Install fuse (short pin) for the following function checks. Accessory Function Checks Check: Factory Radio Interface Kit Audio Output Vehicle Function Check Vehicle Function Look For: Turn on the radio and verify that the BLU Logic Module will mute the audio. With the radio on, press the middle button on the BLU Logic switch and verify that the audio is muted. Verify the proper connection of the Interface kit by pressing and holding the middle button on the switch until you hear one (1) beep. NOTE: Pairing the module to a phone is not required. This is the customers (or dealers) responsibility. Turn the radio to an AM or FM station and then turn the balance to the L and confirm the audio is coming from the left front speaker. Repeat for the right front speaker. Vehicle Function Detail Audio AM/FM Verify the proper operation of audio AM/FM. Hazard Switch Verify the proper operation of the hazard switch. HVAC Verify the proper operation of the air conditioning system. 12V Power Socket Verify the proper operation of the 12V Power Socket. AUX Jack Verify the proper operation of the AUX Jack. Power Mirror Switch Verify the proper operation of the mirror switch. Hood Release Verify the proper operation of the hood release. NAV System (if equipped) Confirm navigation operation by AVN diagnostics. Left & Right Seat Heater Switch (if equipped) SRS Warning Light Verify the proper operation of the L&R heater switch. Confirm SRS warning light illuminates for approximately 6 seconds with the ignition ON, and then goes out. Prior to TPMS activation and Pre- delivery Service (PDS) of the Vehicle the TPMS light will blink when IG is turned on. Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) After TPMS activation and PDS of the Vehicle the TPMS light will illuminate for a few seconds and go off when IG is turned on. Turn off all components including radio and interior lights. Remove fuse (short pin) after function checks are complete. Check with your dealer/port to find out if this step is required. Kit Service Information Item: 1 3-Amp in-line Fuse Location: The fuse is located behind the radio assembly. To replace, follow Step 1 through 12 to access the fuse location. NOTE: If the fuse is blown, the Hands Free BLU Logic will not turn on. Page 16 of 16
