It s hard to believe that this Labor Day weekend auction is our 30th year of conducting collector tractor auctions. My how fast 30 years have gone by and what a different country and time we live in compared to 1983. Thirty years ago gas was under a dollar, the cost of a new home was just under $90,000 and our country s debt was close to $14 billon. Today s gas prices cost are close to $4, a new home is just over $270,000, and our national debt has spiked to just over $16 trillion! WOW things have changed! Times have also changed in the collector tractor world. In 1983 the Labor Day weekend auction consisted of 1 day with around 50 tractors and just over 200 total items selling. In 2012 our auction consisted of 3 days selling 904 tractors and around 4000 total items selling. The highest priced tractor in 1983 was a JD GPWT selling for $8,750 (which at the time was unheard of) and last year we sold a JD 2520 high crop for $100,000. 30 years ago people bought tractors to work the fields and now people are purchasing them to restore and collect. This auction has stood the test of time due the GREAT buyers and consignors. We would like to THANK EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU for the success that you have helped make this auction.
