Created in 1989, ATR Creations is a company located in the south of France close to Marseille whose cores activities are the design, the manufacturing and the assembly of mobile or transportable units of dewatering sludge. ATR units have multiple applications such as: Dewatering of urban and industrial sludge, Rehabilitation of aquatic sites, Soil remediation, Food processing industry In spite of its modest size, ATR Creations knew how to convince her demanding customers thanks to a high technicality and an irreproachable service. Machines bring complete satisfaction for several years, the most former units always in service were made more than 18 years ago. The know-how of the company acquired in the course of these 22 years is triple: Mastery of belt filter press, one of 3 main technologies of dewatering sludge, Integration of the " active principle " of dewatering on mobile or transportable unit, Expertise in designing and manufacturing of solutions in liquid/solid separation. The offer products of ATR Creations is so centered on the mobile unit with belt filter press ATR. 4 other types of products proposed by ATR Creations are diverted from this heart of range. 1- Subsets : Belt Filter Press, Gravity Belt Thickener, Lamellar Clarifier These machines represent the heart of the system of dewatering and can be used alone or combined. The distinctive feature of ATR machines lies in the fact that they were specially designed to fit mobile units and be operated by service providers. Their general characteristics are: Very compact machine but with the highest possible processing capacity, Limited Weight, Resistance in shocks and vibrations during transit, Fast Starting, Flexibility to handle very different types of sludge, Easy and fast maintenance, Fitting within the width limits for road transport. ATR machines can also be set up in workshops in the form of "ready to link " unit. These machines are totally designed by ATR Creations and based on technologies only implemented by the company. a. Belt Filter Press With this type of machine, the sludge is compressed through 2 filtering belts which follow a whole serial of rollers with decreasing diameters, by means of which applies the pressure. It offers a continuous process of sludge dewatering with a good solid capture rate. Both belts are moving at the same speed through two drive rollers. Widths of belts on ATR machines can vary between 0,6m and 2m according to wished mass flow (kg DS/h) together with inlet sludge flow rate. The choice of a machine is made according to customer needs, inlet flow rate, mass flow of dry solids and the type of sludge. All ATR machines integrate belt tracking system, pneumatically controlled for automatic operation. ATR belt filter press is also equipped with individual belt wash station for upper and lower belts. Each station consists of a spray pipe fitted with spray nozzles, and contained within a manufactured housing which encapsulates a section of the belt. The housing and nozzles assembly are easily removable. As safety regards, besides the protective grids to avoid any manual action on moving parts, machines have a series of sensors for a secure and safe use of the unit. Basically, ATR belt filer press is manufactured in 304L Inox.

b. Gravity Belt Thickener Gravity belt thickener allows to thicken floculated sludge and therefore to get back already a part of the water of sludge to be treated. These machines can be used alone or together with a belt filter press located downstream as it is the case on dewatering sludge mobile units. Widths of belts can vary between 0,6m and 2m. Technical solutions can be adapted according to customer needs and inlet flow rate. Gravity Belt Thickener Width belt 1m Up to 20m3/h inlet sludge. c. Lamellar Clarifier Lamellar clarifiers have also a function of sludge settling and thickening. Such as for gravity belt thickener, they can be used alone or upstream to a belt filter press Picture page 13. These machines are more specifically designed for mineral sludge. The most powerful ATR model is the one presented below with a maximum hydraulic flow of 200m3/h. It was designed to be transportable with an easily assembly/disassembly procedure. A smaller ATR lamellar clarifier with a maximal hydraulic flow of 150m3/h has been specifically designed to be integrated on fully mobile unit as it is shown on the picture below. Two others machines complete range of ATR lamellar clarifiers.

2- Dewatering sludge mobile units a. Purchase motivations Looking for a mobile unit can be motivated by 3 mains reasons: Quantity of sludge to be dewatered is repetitive and low: an on site unit would far too much expensive to work a few hours a week or a few days a month it is often the case of water purification plant in small towns. A mobile unit can operate when it s necessary to empty a tank, a silo or a pit. Quantity of sludge to be dewatered is unique and important dredging an aquatic site for example: with mobile unit, processing plant is brought on the site and water returns back to aquatic site. To dewater on site is more rational than to transport thousands m3 of sludge to processing plant. Unusual situation to face: mobile unit is required in parallel of on site machine to face rush hours summer periods for example -, overloaded water treatment plants or periods of work and maintenance. b. ATR machines ATR mobile units lean on subsets defined in the previous paragraph but can be also manufactured with others technologies as centrifuge or filter press picture page 17. They are workplaces and represent service provider in customer plant. ATR machines have to answer additional constraints with regard to an on site unit: Size and weight to be in keeping with traffic rules, Handiness, Ease of starting, Reliability of an equipment working in customer site, Higher safety standards in relation with reduced space. ATR mobile unit is a small factory composed, in addition of sludge dewatering machine, of multiple pumps, its polymers preparation, its electrical cabinet, its water recycling, its generator, its lighting, heating, their stairs and guardrails. When buying ATR mobile unit, customer acquires a machine: Quickly and easily transported, Quickly operational, quickly folded up, Having a high processing capacity: maximum of sludge inlet flow, maximum of tons of dry contents, maximum of dryness, Offering a range of settings to dewater different types of sludge.! A single person must be able to operate.

ATR machines take place in the sustainable development policy by allowing a fast and effective operation to tackle for example accidental pollution. More generally, our products are part of water treatment business, one of the major stake in the future decades. These environmental considerations are also taken account in designing our products with: A lower electrical consumption with regard to other technologies, A solution Ressource allowing recycling of water to reduce water consumption for belt washing, A lower polymers consumption with regard to centrifuge and the absence of liming unlike filter press, A continuous sludge dewatering process thanks to high flexible unit. ATR mobile units integrate many safety systems: Thermal protection for all engines, Loss of water pressure, Loss of pneumatic pressure, Defect of belt tracking, Emergency stops, Detection of sludge, filtrates and cake, Low level of polymers. Besides, a CE conformity check is made by an approved certification body before the delivery of unit to customer. Inlet sludge flows vary from a few m3/h up to 250m3/h. Small units can be easily operated by a single person whereas biggest units require a rigorous management. Small units are loaded on road trailers or on Ampliroll cradle. These cradles exist in most of the countries. They can be loaded and unloaded thanks to a hydraulic arm fixed to the truck. With this kind of frame, it s possible to integrate other features as a generator or Ressource system for example. The most powerful mobile units allow to treat important continuous sludge flows and therefore to be used in the activities of dredging and more globally of building and civil engineering works. Our solutions are perfectly adapted by their mobility, their rustic character, their low energy consumption and their high processing capacities to the mineral sludge dewatering. In these cases, units are transported in several containers: one for polymers preparation, another for lamellar clarifier and one for the belt filter press. 4- ATR Créations customers ATR Creations customers are for the greater part service providers which equip themselves with mobile units to propose processing of sludge to municipalities, industrialists or to every partner needing solid/liquid separation. Reference customers are multiple and varied: Major accounts as Veolia, Lyonnaise des Eaux, Saur, Vinci and their subsidiaries, Small service providers (UMID, Aqua Traitements, ) Municipalities Industrialists facing more and more binding regulations (LyonDellBasell, La Mesta Chimie, International Paper, ) Machines designed and manufactured by ATR Creations answer a great majority of customer needs in sludge dewatering. A particular attention is granted to the definition of customer expectations in order to propose the most adapted machine in term of productivity, operation, flexibility and of course longevity. The constant concern to develop ATR machines and to improve existing solution implies a close collaboration with customers, suppliers and also research laboratories.
