SIEMENS 3WL Air Circuit Breakers Switching, Protection, Measuring and Monitoring Devices The SENTRON 3WL circuit breaker takes into account the increased demands made on air circuit breakers in terms of operator control and monitoring of networks. With it s great flexibility it can be used as an incoming-feeder, distribution, tie, and outgoing-feeder circuit breakers in electrical installations or for switching and protecting motors, capacitors, generators,transformers, busbars and cables. Air Circuit Breakers 3WL air circuit breakers Benefits Low space requirements The SENTRON 3WL devices require very little space. Size I devices (up to 1600 A) fit into a 400 mm wide switchgear panel. Size III devices (up to 6300 A) are the smallest of their kind and with their construction width of 704 mm fit into a 800 mm wide switchgear panel. Modular design Components like auxiliary releases, motorized operating mechanisms, electronic releases, current sensors, auxiliary circuit signaling switches, automatic reset devices, interlocks and engagement operating mechanisms can all be exchanged or retrofitted at a later stage, thus allowing the circuit breaker to be adapted to new, changing requirements. The main contact elements can all be replaced in order to increase the endurance of the circuit breaker. Retrofittable modules for electronic releases Modularity is one of the main features of the new SENTRON 3WL circuit breakers. Special LCDs, ground-fault modules, rated current modules and communication modules for the electronic releases are available for fast and easy retrofitting and adaptation to changing requirements. Flexibility The 3WL has a second parameter set that can be selected. If the line supply conditions change eg. when changing over to generator operation, the 3WL automatically changes over to the second parameter set in best time, optimally adapting the trip unit characteristics to the new situation. Partial Load Protection The 3WL optimally protects your plant or system even under partial load conditions using a Rated Current Module the circuit breaker can be set in just seconds to match the rated current. International standards and approvals IEC 60947-2 DIN VDE 0690 Part 1 Climate-proof acc. to DIN IEC 68 Part 30-2 CCC, Gost Shipbuilding, e.g.: GL, ABS, LRS, PRS. Designs according to UL 489 are also available for international use. 3WL air circuit breakers/non-automatic air circuit breakers according to UL 489 up to 5000 A. Communication The use of modern communication-capable circuit breakers opens up completely new possibilities in terms of start-up, parameterization, diagnostics, maintenance and operation. This allows many different ways of reducing costs and improving productivity in industrial plants, buildings and infrastructure projects to be achieved.
