The Operator PLEASE REMEMBER: Do not operate the product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment/reflexes might be impaired. Use eye and ear protection. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles. Maintain proper footing and balance at all times. Never reach across the Propane Torch while in use. Be aware that parts of the Torch become hot during operation. Allow time for the Torch to cool down before storing it away. Do not aim the burner at inflammable materials. Do not aim the burner at yourself, others or animals. Work Area Page

Well-lit. Clean and uncluttered. Do not use or store any flammable liquids or materials in the area surrounding the Propane Torch. Before Operating Note: Propane Torch is for outdoor use only. Do not use the Propane Torch around or near buildings and structures. Do not use Propane Torch in proximity of any flammable substances. Before using any tool, any part that appears damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Before operating your Propane Torch check for damaged parts. Never try to alter the torch as this could result in serious injury. Warning: Propane fuel is extremely flammable and under pressure. Do not store Propane fuel in temperatures over 120 degrees F. Never use a flame to check for leaks. Keep cylinder upright when using and storing. Never puncture or set fire to an empty propane cylinder. If while using this tool you notice a gas odor, immediately shut off the propane fueling the Torch. Extinguish all open flames, and carefully check for leaks by using soapy water. If the odor continues, do not use the Torch. Call your gas supplier for assistance. Before each use always check all gas connections and joints to make sure no leaks are present. Do not operate the Propane Torch if you feel that it is not operating normally. SPECIFIC PRODUCT WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS 1. The Propane Torch is for outdoor use only. Use the Propane Torch only in well-ventilated areas. Keep Propane Torch away from structures and flammable materials. Inhalation of propane fumes may result in carbon monoxide poisoning, injury and/or death. 2. Risk of Explosion. Propane fuel is extremely flammable and under pressure. a. b. c. Contact local solid waste authorities for instructions on correct disposal or recycling of a propane cylinder. Never puncture or set fire to an empty propane cylinder. Never use a propane tank if it shows signs of: Dents, corrosion, gouges, bulges, fire damage, leakage, excessive rust, or any other form of visual external damage. Store propane cylinders properly: Store the cylinder in a well-ventilated area marked for cylinder storage only. Store propane cylinders away from oxidizing or corrosive gas cylinders. Store empty cylinders away from full cylinders and label empty cylinders clearly. Do not store propane fuel in temperatures exceeding 120 F. 3. Risk of Fire. a. Before each use, always check all propane connections and joints to make sure no leaks are present. Also check hoses for cracks or excessive wear. Always replace a damaged hose. b. c. d. e. f. g. h. i. If, while using the Propane Torch, you notice the odor of propane, immediately shut off the propane fueling the Torch. Extinguish all open flames, and carefully check for leaks by using soapy water. Never use a flame to check for leaks. If the odor continues, do not use the Torch and move the propane tank outside, if it is not already outside. Call your local propane supplier for assistance. Make sure the Control Wheel is turned to its OFF position and the propane tank (not included) is removed when the Propane Torch is not in use. Never use gasoline, kerosene, or other highly volatile fluids as a starter as they can explode. Never leave the Propane Torch unattended once it is lit. Keep a fire extinguisher handy. Always keep a commercial fire extinguisher nearby the Propane Torch in case of accidental fire. Do not clean the Propane Torch with combustible or corrosive cleaners. Do not paint any part of the Propane Torch. Never smoke while using the Propane Torch. Make sure all surrounding flames are extinguished. Page 4

j. If the flame goes out: immediately shut off the controls, wait a few seconds and reignite. If the flame continues to go out, switch to another propane bottle. k. Use the torch only with the bottle underneath in an upright position. Using the torch upside-down or sideways may result in the valve clogging. l. Never separate the propane bottle from the torch until the control is completely shut and several seconds have passed to ensure that the flame is out. Make sure that no other ignition sources are nearby before separating the tank from the torch. m. Do not use this product with any fuels other than propane. 4. the Burner gets very hot during use. a. Do not aim the Propane Torch s Burner at yourself, others, or animals. Keep spectators clear of the work area. b. Always allow sufficient time for the Propane Torch to completely cool down before storing. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Do not use the Propane Torch in the rain. Do not store flammable liquids or materials in the area surrounding the Propane Torch. Maintain a firm grip with both hands on the Propane Torch while in use. Never reach across the Propane Torch while in use. Be aware that parts of the Propane Torch become extremely hot during operation. Maintain labels and nameplates on the Propane Torch. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement. WARNING! Assembly Your Propane Torch will require some limited assembly. To assist you with assembly and operation, please refer to the Assembly Diagram and Parts List located on the last pages of this manual. It is important that your read the entire manual to become familiar with the unit BEFORE you use the Propane Torch. Before assembling your Propane Torch, be sure that you have all parts described in the Parts List. Operation To assist you with operation, please refer to the Assembly Diagram and Parts List located on pages 4 and 5. Never force the tool or attachment to do the work of a larger industrial tool. It is designed to do the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was intended. This tool is designed to be used and operated on LP Gas (Liquid Propane) which is usually found in a gas cylinder. 1.. 3. 4. 5. Make certain the Adjusting Knob (part #14) is OFF. Your Propane Torch uses a standard 14.1 oz. cylinder. Hold the cylinder upright and screw it into the Needle valve (part #12) clockwise. Screw the cylinder hand tight without using excessive force. Open the gas valve on the LP cylinder. Slowly allow for Air Flow by turning the Adjusting Knob (part #14). While making sure that you are clear of the outlet of the Torch, place a long match or similarly lit device near the Propane Torch s outlet. This will create a flame. Adjust the flame to a reasonable level by turning the Adjusting Knob (part #14). Note: The lit burner should operate with a blue flame with a small yellow tip. Adjust the knob if the flame is sputtering or popping. To extinguish the flame, close the Adjusting Knob. When the Torch is not to be used over an extended period of time, disconnect the Propane cylinder from the Torch. Make certain the Propane Torch is completely cooled off before storing. if there is any question about a condition being safe or unsafe, do not operate the tool. Unpacking UNPACK AND CHECK CONTENTS When unpacking your Propane Torch, check to make sure the following parts are included.
