LONG VERSION SHORTER, LIGHTER, MORE ECONOMICAL Even technically matured products such as pneumatic clamps can always be optimized in details. One example for this is the new universal clamp of the mechanical engineering specialist TÜNKERS. It saves up to 30 % air pressure with performance data remaining unchanged, shows a significantly optimized design and sets new standards in weight category. This is possible due to a power-optimized knee-lever mechanism having the effect that for size 50 clamps now sizes 40 cylinders are used and for size 63 clamps size 50 cylinders. The overall length of the U-shaped clamp is reduced by 25 mm and creates additional space in the fixture. The universal clamp based on an intelligent and compact design is the perfect alternative to the vario clamp providing the same performance data: Equal clamping force Equal retention force Equal connection dimensions Equal load cycles (3 million) Proven, continuous angle adjustment from 5 135 Both air connections are space-optimized and arranged in the front and rear in the cylinder base. The U-shaped clamp offers a fully enclosed aluminium housing, a slot for mounting the sensing cartridge is not required. The sensing satellites are not mounted on a carrier, but tightly and safely integrated in the clamp housing in a shock-resistant arrangement. The adapter plate with plug contact is also tightly connected with the housing. Optionally the housing can be provided with a resistant to welding debris coating. The electric series EK of TÜNKERS with conventional 24 V DC motors from large-scale production has proven its worth as a smart alternative to knee-lever clamps with pneumatic drive. LONG VERSION ANYBODY CAN CLAMP BUT NOT THE INTELLIGENT WAY! Knee-lever clamps with pneumatic drive have established worldwide in body-in-white for decades construction. Studies show, however, that from a safety perspective air pressure is no longer in keeping with the times. The electric series EK of TÜNKERS with conventional 24 V DC motors from large-scale production is a smart alternative. This opens the way for body-in-white construction free from compressed air. The EK series offers clear energy savings and reduces operating costs by factor 15. The product series enables controlled moving of the clamp. Vibrations are the death of a gripper. This is where the new ultra-lightweight series of TÜNKERS starts. LONG VERSION 1KG LIGHTWEIGHT GRIPPER FOR CLAMPING AT THE ROBOT GRIPPER It is quite astonishing to see which delicate equipment at robot grippers holds car body parts. This results in grippers with a total weight of clearly more than 100 kg with moving components with weights of nearly 10 kg. Especially when taking account of new robot generations with high acceleration values the gripper structure needs to be protected. Vibrations are the death of a gripper. This is where the new ultra-lightweight series of TÜNKERS starts. The new small series provides you with a product programme, which is particularly designed for robot grippers. The new size 30 replaces normal sizes 50 and 40 being actually oversized. E-CLINCHING UNIT E-clinching unit with intelligent process monitoring SHORT VERSION E-CLINCHING UNIT WITH INTELLIGENT PROCESS MONITORING The new E-clinching unit designed by TÜNKERS works with a particular servo-control to make set values reproducible and to achieve sustainable and process-reliable joint connections. The parameters of force/torque and the final joining position can be defined and adjusted very precisely via the adapted process monitoring. To achieve reproducible joining a very rigid and also lightweight design of the FEM optimized C-frame is crucial, it prevents axis offset between the stamping tool and the template when the frame is bent open by the process forces. LONG VERSION E-CLINCHZANGE MIT INTELLIGENTER PROZESSÜBERWACHUNG Clinching is a joining process, which has proven its worth in particular in car body manufacturing for joining processes of different mating plates or aluminium connections. A very precise control of force/displacement of the punching tool and joining template is essential for sustainable and process-reliable joint connections so that the set values - the so-called residual wall - of a few tenths of a millimeter are achieved. For this reason the new E-clinching unit designed by TÜNKERS works with a particular servo-control. The parameters of force/torque and the final joining position can be defined and adjusted very precisely via the adapted process monitoring. To achieve reproducible joining a very rigid and also lightweight design of the FEM optimized C-frame is crucial, it prevents axis offset between the stamping tool and the template when the frame is bent open by the process forces. The newly developed power unit has a planetary roll spindle, running in oil and therefore maintenance-free, due to its special construction its design can be extremely narrow. The movable, open template of the TÜNKERS E-clinching unit offers higher process reliability with the following advantages: Low risk of pollution due to open template design. Humidity, oil or component coatings do not result in direct loss of quality (pressure stasis!!) DUAL ROTARY TABLE Double performance with double roller SHORT VERSION DOUBLE PERFORMANCE WITH DOUBLE ROLLER Conventional rotary indexing tables are driven by an electric gear motor with a so-called barrel cam, which moves the rotary table by a roller bolt. The intermeshing roller bolts limit the maximum torque transferable to the rotary tables. The new EXPERT-TÜNKERS high-performance rotary table uses two dual principle patented rollers, arranged in parallel and driving the rotary table. In practice, duplicate performance values can be achieved with nearly unchanged dimensions of the rotary table. LONG VERSION DOUBLE PERFORMANCE WITH DOUBLE ROLLER Conventional rotary indexing tables are driven by an electric gear motor with a so-called barrel cam, which moves the rotary table by a roller bolt. The intermeshing roller bolts limit the maximum torque transferable to the rotary tables. The new EXPERT-TÜNKERS high-performance rotary table uses two dual principle patented rollers arranged in parallel and driving the rotary table. In practice, duplicate performance values can be achieved with nearly unchanged dimensions of the rotary table. Another clear advantage is that the rotary table is evenly driven from both sides and therefore without one-sided bearing load, which occurs with conventional rotary tables. In conjunction with the drive reduction gear integrated in the housing an extremely compact drive system is created, which is particularly suited for high performance applications in car body construction. FIXATION WELDING GUNS Welding at doors and flaps SHORT VERSION WELDING AT DOORS AND FLAPS Spot welding is used to fix parts to bonded and seamed components, primarily to body panels, e.g. doors and flaps in the field of body-in-white. The TÜNKERS welding clamp equipped with a special ground electrode offers a new method to bring in these spot welding points. In addition to simple and robust technology the electrode arm, which can be opened to 90 offers advantages with regard to accessibility in the fixture. LONG VERSION WELDING AT DOORS AND FLAPS Spot welding is used to fix parts to bonded and seamed components, primarily to body panels, e.g. doors and flaps in the field of body-in-white. Spot welding can be directly performed in the seam. Due to released welding heat the subsequent adhesive gelling process may be dropped. By reducing the electrode contact surface the welding parameters can be optimized to the extent that only the inner plates are welded to each other and therefore no welding residues occur at the outer shell. The TÜNKERS welding clamp equipped with a special ground electrode offers a new method to bring in these spot welding points. In addition to simple and robust technology the electrode arm, which can be opened to 90 offers advantages with regard to accessibility in the fixture. C-FRAME Punching - even if space is tight! SHORT VERSION PUNCHING - EVEN IF SPACE IS TIGHT! As a rule, drilling additional holes in body-in-white is not a Herculean task. But things become more difficult as soon as a number of holes have to be drilled in extremely narrow spaces and preferably in one operation. The very narrow TÜNKERS C-frame with a flat oval multi-force cylinder has proven to be an advantage enabling the entire punching fixture to be designed in battery alignment. LONG VERSION PUNCHING - EVEN IF SPACE IS TIGHT! As a rule, drilling additional holes in body-in-white is not a Herculean task. But things become more difficult as soon as a number of holes have to be drilled in extremely narrow spaces and preferably in one operation. The very narrow TÜNKERS C-frame with a flat oval multi-force cylinder has proven to be an advantage enabling the entire punching fixture to be designed in battery alignment. An example of automobile manufacture demonstrates clearly how the C-frame units can be used: for the subsequent attachment of a side skirt 10 additional holes with a 9 mm diameter had to be punched at the left and right car side on the skirt. In addition to restricted space conditions - the curved surfaces, different hole distances and the placement of the holes at different levels were specific challenges of this task. An optimum solution for this task was provided by six space-saving battery-arrangements of C-frames with multi-force cylinders in flat design. These units consisted of four C-frames with two punching tools with contour templates and two C-frames with one punching tool with contour template. Also due to this fact there was not yet a universal CAD model available showing the entire range of all possible design version. This is just what the new TÜNKERS Configurator AFS-CONCAD offers: all possible variations with regard to length, width, loading position and stop stations are technically described with their mutual dependencies to each other. LONG VERSION CONFIGURATOR ACCELERATES DELIVERY TIMES Accumulating conveyors are complex. Also due to this fact there was not yet a universal CAD model available showing the entire range of all possible design version. This is just what the new TÜNKERS Configurator AFS-CONCAD offers: all possible variations with regard to length, width, loading position and stop stations are technically described with their mutual dependencies on each other. The configurator creates the constructive design of a complex conveyor belt not only more quickly, but it also enables the end-user and plant designer to create his own models or to adapt them to his installation situation. A total of 8 basic models is available. With a user manual all required parameters are defined and in this manner the optimized accumulating conveyor for your individual requirements is configured. Designs exceeding the predescribed models are separately planned by TÜNKERS. The intended target of the TÜNKERS configurator is to increase design speed and hence to reduce in particular the required coordination loops with the end-user. The approval process will be simpler and quicker, submission takes place at the touch of a button. LINEAR UNIT LEV 100 Double-locking linear unit SHORT VERSION DOUBLE-LOCKING LINEAR UNIT In the event that a version with both end position locked is to be built, further components (brake, clamp, shot pin, cylinder) are additionally required and must also be separately controlled. Tünkers now offers a new linear unit, which is backlash-free locked in both positions and based on the patented dual knee-lever mechanism. The functional principle: As with the knee-lever clamp, the piston rod of the cylinder does not act directly, but acts on the skid via a knee-lever joint. In the end position the joint moves past the dead centre the position is mechanically locked, backlash-free and therefore secured in the event of a pressure drop. The joint is designed as a double angle and therefore locked in both positions. LONG VERSION DOUBLE-LOCKING LINEAR UNIT In the event that a version with both end position locked is to be built, further components (brake, clamp, shot pin, cylinder) are additionally required and must also be separately controlled. Tünkers now offers a new linear unit, which is backlash-free locked in both positions based on the patented dual knee-lever mechanism. Many linear units need to be mechanically locked in both end positions, e.g. because type-specifically two working positions are approached. What at first glance does not seem to be very demanding, is coupled with relatively great effort in its technical design requiring additional shot pins or locking elements. This should be much easier with the patented TÜNKERS linear unit LEV 100. The drive cylinder is not directly controlled on the skid, but controlled via a dual knee-lever - backlash-free locked in both positions. The functional principle: As with the knee-lever clamp, the piston rod of the cylinder does not act directly, but acts on the skid via a knee-lever joint. In the end position the joint moves past the dead centre the position is mechanically locked, backlash-free and therefore secured in the event of a pressure drop. For the cases where the total stroke is to be adjusted or corrected on-site, Tünkers Maschinenbau GmbH provides the LEV unit also with vario lift. The new flat rotary table TXR is the core cell of the TÜNKERS Rotary Changer. It reduces components required for a rotary indexing table to a minimum: base plate, bearing, toothed belt and gear motor. The result of this design is a simple, robust and simultaneously flat design. The mechanical separation of motor and rotary table allows an optimized construction with external arrangement of the drive. For this reason the TXR rotary tables are particularly suitable for low-floor drive to rotate large and widely projecting loads, e.g. rotary container changers.
