Substantial energy saving potential Lighting, which make up more than 60 % of total energy costs in the non-food segment, is offering the largest potential for savings. Reference project with OSRAM and Siteco: Audi used car :plus center, Eching At the end of October 2013, the world s fi rst Audi used car :plus center opened just outside Munich. The 45,000 square meter site is split visually into a classic Audi terminal and a 17,000 square meter showroom, as well as a number of open spaces surrounding it. And the special feature is: True to Audi s famous slogan Vorsprung durch Technik the lighting solutions used in Eching are based exclusively on LED technology. Reference project with OSRAM and Siteco: ALDI SÜD Biblisweg discount market, Rastatt An impressive pilot project in energy saving by international retailer Aldi has produced impressive results in the Aldi Future Store in Rastatt, Germany: The energy design concept, created under the supervision of the Frauenhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, will reduce the primary energy consumption by 50 % as compared to a standard Aldi supermarket. The maximum use of daylight and the intelligent control of artificial lighting contribute significant to the energy savings. www.osram.com/euroshop Lichtplanung start.design Project highlight with OSRAM and Traxon: Galeries Lafayette, Paris Galeries Lafayette is a major French chain of department stores with a long tradition behind it. The original store on Boulevard Haussmann in Paris, one of the oldest and best-known department stores in France, is amongst the city s gems of art nouveau architecture. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the dome that crowns the building, the façade of the Galeries Lafayette will be illuminated for the next six years by the Chrysalide (Chrysalis), a lighting installation by designer Yann Kersalé. www.osram.com/euroshop
