CAUTION - Entanglement Hazard: Please keep any loose clothing, including pant legs and shoelaces, away from any moving parts of the Pony when riding, as they may become entangled in the wheels or moving parts, causing damage to the Pony and injury to the rider. Read and understand this entire owner's manual before using the Pony. Failure to do so can result in serious injury. INSTRUCT YOUR CHILD ON THE PROPER OPERATION OF THIS PONY AND FOLLOW THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS LISTED BELOW. Read and follow the safety precautions listed below. Failure to do so could result in injury to your person or damage to your ride-on. A. Pony is to be used only by children ages 3-8. Adult supervision required. B. Pony weight Limit is 160lbs (72.7 kg). C. When riding, always wear safety equipment including a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads. Always keep the chinstrap of your helmet securely buckled. Always wear shoes. D. Ride on smooth, paved surfaces away from motor vehicles. E. Avoid sharp bumps, drainage grates, steep hills and sudden surface changes which may cause the Pony to stop suddenly. F. Avoid streets and surfaces with water, sand, gravel, dirt, leaves, and other debris. G. Do not ride in wet weather as it impairs traction and visibility. H. Do not ride at night. I. Avoid excessive speed associated with downhill rides. J. Obey all local traffic laws and regulations. K. Watch out for pedestrians. L. Check and secure all fasteners before every ride. M. Replace worn or broken parts immediately. N. Small parts like screws can be swallowed if they fall off the Pony. Keep children younger than 3 years away from the Pony. 9 2

BEFORE YOU BEGIN PONY PARTS The Giddyup N Go Pony is made up of the following parts (Fig. 1): right left Handlebars with brake Tail ASSEMBLY STEPS: Fig. 1 Your Pony comes mostly assembled by the manufacturer. It is important to finish assembly before riding. NOTE: Viewing the Pony in its unassembled (headless) state might be upsetting to small children. STEP 1: BATTERY REPLACEMENT NOTE: If the included batteries run down, have an adult install fresh batteries: 1. Remove the Pony s head from the frame. 2. Using a Phillips screwdriver (not included) remove the screw and battery compartment cover from the bottom of the Pony s head. 3. Install three (3) 1.5 V AA batteries making sure the (+) and (-) ends face the proper direction as shown. (Fig. 2) Saddle 4. Replace the compartment cover and tighten the screw. Riders should sit on the Saddle Seat only. Do not sit on the Pony s body. B. Only one rider at a time. C. The Pony only moves forward. Do not try to move it backward as damage may occur to the wheels. D. If the Pony falls over, set it back up on its wheels. Then press down on the Saddle Seat several times to make sure that the Pony is working normally. If not, then re-adjust the plush skin. E. NEVER place your hand between the Saddle Seat and the Pony s body. F. Do not make the Wheel Axle nuts too tight on either end or you risk breaking the wheel axles. G. Store the Pony upright in a dry, ventilated place when not in use. H. Pick the Pony up by the Handlebars and Saddle Seat. SAFE BATTERY USAGE Use alkaline batteries for best performance and longer life. Use only the type battery recommended for the unit. Batteries should be replaced only by an adult. Insert batteries with the correct polarity ( + and ). Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. Do not short-circuit batteries. When not used for an extended time, remove batteries to prevent possible leakage and damage to the unit. Do not mix rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before charging. Rechargeable batteries are to be recharged only under adult supervision. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy. Do not dispose of batteries in fire as they may leak or explode. NOTE: The voltage of a fully-charged, rechargeable battery is often lower than that of a fresh alkaline battery. Therefore, it is recommended that alkaline batteries be used instead of rechargeable batteries for best performance and for longest play time. Let s care for the environment! The wheelie bin symbol indicates that the product must not be disposed of with other household waste. Please use designated collection points or recycling facilities when disposing of the item. Do not treat old batteries as household waste. Take them to a designated recycling facility. 3 8

MAINTENANCE Every six months, the following routine maintenance procedures should be performed by an adult. This will prevent mishaps and ensure that the Pony provides years of fun! Check the Frame: 1. Wash surface with a damp cloth. (Fig. 13) 2. Check brakes and brake cables. 3. Visually inspect all of the moving parts and wheel axles for wear and tightness. 4. Tighten any loose bolts and/or wheel axle cap nuts that are found. NOTE: Do not tighten the axle cap nuts too tight or you risk damaging the Pony. Fig. 13 CAUTION: If any problems are found, DO NOT let a child ride the Pony until it is repaired. STEP 2: ASSEMBLY Before leaving the corral, have an adult follow these assembly steps: NOTE: Assembly does not require tools! HEAD ASSEMBLY: 1. Set the Pony body upright on a smooth, flat surface. 2. Turn the front wheels so that they are perfectly straight and parallel with the back wheels. 3. Bring the Pony s head up and hold it over the body neck-hole. Align the slotted tab in the head with the metal post inside the neck-hole. (Fig. 3) 4. Push the tab into the connector in the body of the pony until it locks into place. 5. Lift up on the Handlebars to make sure that the Pony s head is locked in place. You should be able to lift the whole Pony by the Handlebars. 6. Turn the handlebars to make sure that the steering is aligned properly, if not the front wheels will turn poorly or not at all. 7. Connect the two ends of the neck zipper and zip around the Pony s neck. (Fig. 4) CAUTION: FAILURE TO PROPERLY ALIGN THE STEERING POSITION CORRECTLY, CAN RESULT IN IMPROPER HANDLEBAR MOVEMENT AND LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. Fig. 3 Fig. 4 TAIL ASSEMBLY 1. STEP 3: ADJUSTMENTS CAUTION: Keep your fingers away from moving parts of the Pony to avoid pinching. (Figs. 6) Riding Instructions: GOING FOR A RIDE (cont.) Fig. 10 Fig. 11 Fig. 6 IMPORTANT NOTE: Always have an adult make adjustments to the Pony. GOING FOR A RIDE IMPORTANT NOTE: An adult should always supervise children ages 3-8 and help them on and off the Pony. Mount/Dismount Pony: 1. Stand to the left of the Pony and grasp both Handlebars. (Fig. 7) 2. Place your left foot into the left stirrup. (Fig. 8) 3. Pull yourself up and over the Pony, then place your foot in the right-hand stirrup. (Fig. 9) 4. Reverse these instructions to dismount the Pony. 1. Push down on the stirrups with your legs so that you stand up in the saddle, and it rises to its full height. (Fig. 10) 2. Sit back down in the saddle, the legs of the Pony will spread out. (Fig. 11) 3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to make the Pony move forward. 4. Turn the Handlebars left or right to make the Pony turn. The Pony has a turning radius of 4 feet. 5. Push the brake lever all the way down to release the brakes and pull the brake lever up to engage the brakes. (Fig. 12) Fig. 12 up (engage) down (release) adjustment screw NOTE: Press the brake lever all the way down to fully release the brakes. Pull the brake lever all the way up to engage the brakes. NOTE: If the brake lever is hard to move or does not go down very far, adjust it by turning the adjustment screw in the center of the brake handle. (Fig. 12) NOTE: If the Pony does not move forward, make sure that the brake lever is all the way down. Fig. 7 Fig. 8 Fig. 9 WARNING: Never turn the handlebars while riding fast or the Pony could tip over, causing serious injury. CAUTION: Avoid using the Pony on steep hills. 6. Squeeze the Pony s right ear to hear Walking Noises. 7. Squeeze the Pony s left ear to hear it whinny and snort. 5 6
