Parts Information EasyGuide Center Link for field installation - AL206744 Although hydraulic center links are popular, mounting and dismounting of implements is not very convenient for the operator. The reasons for that are the high weight of the hydraulic center link, the high position from the ground and the unrestricted movements which might damage surrounding components. This belongs to the past with the help of the John Deere EasyGuide Center Link system available now for field installation. Benefits of the EasyGuide Center link system The unique JD concept improves handling of hydraulic center links: The EasyGuide Center link system allows the operator to mount and dismount the rear implement without leaving the driver s seat. The heavy weight of the center link is supported by springs which allow easy and comfortable operation with one hand only. The EasyGuide Center Link has been awarded a silver medal by the DLG German Agricultural Society. The commission is made up of impartial experts from the fields of science, research and consultation. In addition, all innovations submitted were also assessed by progressive farmers. The silver medal has been officially awarded at the Agritechnica in Hannover in 2009. 1
Detailed product description 1. The new system consists of four elements 1.1. Relieving spring The relieving spring carries part of the center link weight during the mounting and dismounting process. Furthermore the spring gives support while changing position of the hydraulic center link in the mounting rack. 1.2. Centering spring While mounting, the centering spring directs the center link into the mounting frame with sufficient lateral offset. At the same time the center link is carried by a control cable and the mounting frame is ideally not in the vertical position. While dismounting, the centering spring directs the center link back in the inclination position. In this position the center link will be fixed (without disturbing other tractor components like control units, coupling elements etc.). 2
1.3. Mechanical limit stops Mechanical limit stops on both sides prevent the center link from tilting away in lateral direction. 1.4. Two-level center link support The spring-loaded center link support with a double safety function can be operated from the cab as well as from the ground. The disengaging of the center link is only possible if the center link is pulled to the tractor (and secured with one hand). Only then the lock can be released with the other hand. To lock the center link in transport position after disengaging the implement, one hand is sufficient to pull it to the tractor. It will automatically be guided and caught by the locking mechanism. The EasyGuide center link can be mounted in three different positioning holes, similar to the conventional one. 3
2. How to use the new system 2.1. Standard system To release the center link locking device, the operator has to leave the cabin. To adjust the cylinder length of the hydraulic center link, the operator can use either the external remote control for hydraulic valves mounted on the fender or he climbs into the cabin from behind to actuate the control valves. 2.2. New system Release center link: The operator releases the hydraulic center link from the driver s seat using the two wire ropes, securing the center link with one hand. Engage the implement: After releasing, the hydraulic center link can be moved single handed. The relieving spring reduces the force the operator needs to direct the center link. The mechanical limit stops and the centering spring help moving the hook directly to the mounting rack of the implement. While positioning the center link, the operator has one hand free for operating the SCVs and adjusting the cylinder length. Disengage the implement and lock the center link: For disengaging the operator pulls the rope to release the hook. The two springs help to bring the center link in transport position, where it will be locked automatically. 4
