POCLAIN HYDRAULICS Hand Held Terminal OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION OF THE HHT The HHT constitutes a component of the control system of SmartDrive TM hydrostatic transmissions developed by Poclain Hydraulics. The HHT directly modifies the parameters in the ECU, and a configuration cannot be saved. HHT functions This terminal gives you: A display of the system's electrical input/output values; A display of parameters relating to each system, and their set-up; A readout of the components' calibration value and their calibration; A display of software information (name, version and creation date of the software); A display of the errors in progress. Description User levels Access to set-up modules depends on the user level. There are two distinct ones: access to only the functions used by the after-sales service technicians, Only this level is described in detail in this document. access reserved for Poclain Hydraulics experts This level is password protected. Its tree structure is described in this document, but system set-up and calibration require specific training. Warning All the parameters described in this chapter condition the machinery's behavior. Any modification to the value of a parameter must be carried out by a technician trained and authorized by the machinery manufacturer. The value of parameters must be modified with a series of parameters established and validated by the machinery manufacturer. Any modification to the parameters must be indexed and the modifier must inform the machinery manufacturer. Depending on current regulations, these modifications may require re-certification of the machinery. Poclain Hydraulics technical services can advise you on determining your parameters. Poclain Hydraulics may not be liable for incidents resulting from incorrect determination of parameters, or their consequences. Use Connection 05/05/2006 5

Hand Held Terminal POCLAIN HYDRAULICS Calibration Calibration enables the claculator to acquire the electric characteristics of the sensors and enables to detect cabling errors. Navigation To access calibration mode, apply the parking brake (except Offroad). To quit it, release the parking brake (except Offroad). Enter the calibration menu, and using the + and - buttons, scroll through the parts to be set up (joystick, travel pedal, brake pedal, mast level, front steering, etc.) Within each sub-menu, proceed through the calibration steps using the [ENTER] button. The accessories below include potentiometer sensors which have 0/5V supplies; and their analog output is be-tween 0.5V and 4.5V. inclusive. To avoid short circuits, the output voltages on the sensors must be be-tween 5 and 95% inclusive of the supply voltage. Joystick calibration The joystick must include a neutral or forward/rear drive. If this is not the case, please consult our technical services. The four values that must be attained are as follows: Short Low value VLf High value VHf Short circuit range Switch closed: value VLi Switch closed: value VHi circuit range 0 V 0.25 V > 0.5V > 0.5V 4.75 V 5 V Procedure: Joystick Joystick Push joystick in neutral position [ESC] [ENTER] Joystick Push slowly joystick in forward [ESC] [ENTER] Press [ENTER] Push the joystick in neutral position. Push the joystick slowly forward (to leave the neutral position): the VHi value is reached.
