ARRAY L.E.DARRAY m "Igniter Type" selectr switch ~ D.J The Test Bx LED array cnsists f 6 clred LED lamps with the fllwing functin, as seen frm left t right: I!i!l GREEN LED - When lit, this shws 12v is present at the Igniter frm a battery. D ORANGE LED - When lit, this shws the Igniter external 5v circuit t MAP sensr is OK. GREEN LED - When lit. this shws that a "eam" sensr type igniter is selected (if the "Igniter Type" selectr switch is in the left hand psitin). _When nt lit, this shws that a "crank + MAP" sensr type Igniter is selected (if the "Igniter Type" selectr switch is in the right hand psitin). RED LED - When lit and flashing, this shws ignitin cil driver 1 is wrking OK. RED LED - When lit and flashing, this shws ignitin cil driver 2 is wrking OK. D YELLOW LED - When lit and flashing, this shws the igniter tachmeter utput is OK. The Yellw LED will flash at the same rate as the Red LEDs in nrmal peratin. Nte: If the tachmeter utput is ntfunctining, the yellw LED can be either permanently n r ff. When a "Crank + MAP" sensr type igniter is cnnected, if there is flashing f the tw Red LEDs and the Yellw LED is lit but nt flashing. the MAP sensr input has been lst. (Nte that the Test Bx "drives" the tested Igniter at apprximately 1500 rpm)... 1. Cnnect the Igniter t be tested t the Test Bx harness Cnnectr. 2. Set the "Igniter Type" select switch accrdingly, t "cam" r "crank + MAP" type. 3. Cnnect the 12v supply clips t a charged 12v battery ensuring the plarity is crrect. 4. Observe the status f the LED array accrding t the descriptins abve. 5. Any variatin frm the abve descriptins indicates a faulty Igniter. 6. Crrect LED indicatins bserved but an apparent ignitin prblem persisting n the bike means the cam r crank I MAP sensr inputs and I r the ignitin cils need checking. TEST PROCEDURE BG/MD 2 Nvember 2005

The AICOM GUI prgram is used t interrgate relevant American Irnhrse igniters t btain stred infrmatin regarding the duratin and rpm levels f peratin. American Irnhrse Mtrcycles - AICOM GUI prgram Instructins fr use The screen is divided int tw "panels": Igniter Inf This reprts the Igniter target type - fr relevant igniters this will be 142 r higher. It als reprts the igniter sftware issue, Gill wrks rder number and the Rev Limit (rpm). Engine Use This panel displays the fllwing stred infrmatin: 1. The ttal Running Time in hurs, minutes and secnds. 2. "Max Rev Limit Hld (s)" - The lngest perid f time, in secnds, the igniter has reprted running at the rpm limit. 3. A graphic display shwing the rpm ranges used and the prprtinal usage f each engine rpm range, in hurs, minutes and secnds. This is als displayed graphically n the right hand side f the panel as six vertical clumns. These clumns represent the ttal time the igniter has been perated in each rpm range as a percentage f the ttal running time.
