Reproducible sieve results can be achieved in the shortest possible time by using electromagnetic driven and fully electronically controlled sieve shakers. This way, hand sieving, which is the basis of the total separation technique, can be accurately replicated. After completion of sieving (consistant results achieved) the individual fragments are weighed for analysis. The software from Haver offers an easy to use tool for this analysis. The VWR-HAVER test sieve shakers have no rotating parts, are extremely durable, maintenance free, very adaptable and have a low noise level. Due to the use of a special spring system and cast iron parts, the construction is heavy and sturdy. This avoids unwanted vibrations being transmitted to the stationary parts of the sieve shaker and its stand. VWR - HAVER sieve shakers have a 4 year Warranty. Key features of the VWR-HAVER sieve shakers 3-D-sieving action All VWR-HAVER sieve shakers offers optimum reproducible and quick results All VWR-HAVER test sieve shakers produce a three-dimensional (3-D) sieving action, also the EML450 digital plus, which is unique due to it s size! The circular movement distributes the material over the whole sieving surface, thus using the whole available surface of the sieve. The vertical motion facilitates the material progresses through the meshes. Combinations of both movements reduce the sieving period. The sieving time is finished when the result remains constant. Self-readjusting amplitude with permanent acceleration measurement G-control Our G-control technology ensures self-readjusting amplitude using permanent acceleration measurement of the whole test sieve tower. It balances the oscillation of the machine and the effect of variable undergrounds. This guarantees that amplitudes stay the same irrespective of the feed quantity and the installation position. All electromagnetically driven VWR-HAVER sieve shakers (models EML-200 till 450) use this technology. Optional TwinNut - quick-release clamping system The TwinNut clamps for easy fixing and removal of the cover are an alternative to the standard Classic knurled nuts. The guide rods of the Classic system can also be used for the TwinNut system. 3

Fitting at least one HAVER-Test Sieve with a frequency variation system enables to do so. The ultrasonic frequency variation system consists of a clamping ring, which is connected by a converter to a generator. The generator converts electrical energy into high frequency energy which is then converted to mechanical energy by the converter and transferred to the clamping ring. The sound waves cause the test sieve frame to oscillate at high frequency. These oscillations are transferred to the test sieve cloth where they are evenly distributed. The oscillations of the test sieve cloth reduce the frictional resistance between the grains and the screen. This reduces the tendency towards blockage, resulting in increased throughput. The end of a test sieving period is achieved clearly faster. Test sieving of some difficult products is easier or even becomes possible. VWR Collection test sieves Certificates Control of measuring instruments and inspection certificates for VWR test sieves The standard EN ISO 9000 ff. requires measuring instruments to be inspected at regular intervals. This also includes test sieves that are used as measuring instruments. VWR offers the opportunity to examine test sieves by a computerized video analysis system at the manufacturers works laboratory or on site. During the inspection aperture sizes are measured and recorded in warp and weft direction. Statistical analysis is used to verify the quality of the test sieve. Following inspection, test sieves receive a seal. For each inspected test sieve, the customer obtains as quality assurance document an inspection certificate 3.1 according to EN 10 204 showing the distribution of aperture widths in graphic (for test sieve cloth only) and tabular form. Test sieves are inspected by specially skilled persons at the manufacturer factory using calibrated computerized video analysis system. The institution Materialprüfungsanstalt für das Bauwesen, Institut für Baustoffe, Massivbau und Brandschutz (MPA IBMP TU Braunschweig) confirms that the measuring device of the manufacturer corresponds to ISO 3310-1:2000 (5.2, Test Methods Test 3) and ASTM E 11-01 (Test Methods for Checking Wire Cloth and Testing Sieves to determine whether they conform to specification). The calibration method by the manufacturer guarantees the traceability to the national measuring standard. VWR Test Certificates 1. Standard Certificate of Compliance 2.1 The metal cloth for test sieves and the test sieve itself are fabricated to current standards. The fabrication is subject to our quality assurance system certified according to EN ISO 9001-2000. Each VWR test sieve is as standard delivered with a Certificate of Compliance with the Order 2.1 according to EN 10 204. 2. Optional Inspection Certificate or Calibration Certificate 3.1 VWR Test Sieves may be delivered with an Inspection Certificate or Calibration Certificate 3.1 according to EN 10 204 with measuring results of a specific test. Both methods perform a measurement in warp and weft direction. They differ in the quantity of the measured aperture widths, resulting in different confidence levels. During a calibration thrice as much aperture widths are measured than during a certification. In general the test sieve is subject to a specific inspection. The aperture widths are stated for warp and weft direction. The results are recorded for further control measurements. 16
