Summary of Certification Our ClearRoute training is based around three certifications: Basic ClearRoute (see pages 3-5) Professional ClearRoute (see pages 6-7) Using Tilting Trains with ClearRoute (see pages 8-9) Each of these certifications is recognised by Network Rail and is valid for a period of two years. Course Benefits Gain Network Rail recognised certification which can be registered in the ClearRoute software and is valid for two years. New users can benefit from attending the Basic ClearRoute Course which covers the main functionality of ClearRoute. Delegates will learn the most efficient ways to use the software and avoid wasted time in the office. The Basic ClearRoute Refresher Course is ideal for those regular users requiring formal certification or re-certification. We find that even the most knowledgeable user can always learn something new and useful about the software when they attend one of these courses. For users who have upgraded from ClearRoute LT to full ClearRoute, the Professional ClearRoute Course explains in detail all of the extra functions available to help you make the most of your investment. For users who are required to analyse tilting trains, the Using Tilting Trains with ClearRoute Course provides an insight into how these behave differently and how to use the models in ClearRoute. This has been updated and improved for 2014 and is now just a one-day course. For experienced ClearRoute users Balfour Beatty Rail also offers the Basic, Professional and Tilting Train ClearRoute Assessments without training. These are now available in Matlock or on-line. Basic ClearRoute Course The Basic ClearRoute Course covers an introduction to the main ClearRoute LT options. It is particularly suitable for delegates who are new to ClearRoute or have never had any formal training. The course consists of explanations and demonstration of the software. There are also exercises throughout the course so that delegates get hands on experience of using ClearRoute. Formal assessment is included and successful delegates receive a certificate to certify that they have achieved a specified level of achievement. This two-and-a-half day course runs from 9:30am to 4:30pm on the first two days and from 9.30am to 12.30pm on the third day. Basic ClearRoute Refresher Course The Basic ClearRoute Refresher Course is designed for existing ClearRoute users who wish to refresh their skills, build their confidence in certain functions (or the product as a whole) or want a chance to ask specific questions about ClearRoute. It is particularly suitable for users who are renewing their Basic ClearRoute certification. This one-day course runs from 9:00am to 4:30pm and comprises half a day dedicated to reviewing the main ClearRoute LT options and half a day for the assessment. Successful delegates are awarded the same certification as those who have attended the full Basic ClearRoute Course. Professional ClearRoute Certification The Professional ClearRoute Certification covers more advanced ClearRoute functions, most of which are only available in the full version of ClearRoute. The certification is designed so that, when combined with a Basic ClearRoute certification, it shows competency in using the full ClearRoute package. Professional ClearRoute Course The Professional ClearRoute Course is relevant for customers who have the full version of ClearRoute. The course is designed so that customers who have previously attended a Basic ClearRoute Course (covering the main ClearRoute LT options) can extend their knowledge and understand the additional functions available. Alternatively, the two courses (Basic and Professional) can be attended consecutively to make up a complete ClearRoute course. The Professional ClearRoute Course is a one-day course (9:30am to 4:30pm) and is made up of explanations and demonstrations, by the trainer, interspersed with exercises, so that delegates get useful hands on experience. The day concludes with a formal assessment and successful delegates receive a certificate to certify that they have achieved a specified level of achievement. The course covers all of the content listed on page 6 as well as a short refresher on the basic functionality of ClearRoute LT, Creating Container Vehicles and Vehicle Specific Colours. Using Tilting Trains with ClearRoute Certification The Using Tilting Trains with ClearRoute Certification has been updated and improved for 2014, making it more practical and relevant. The course provides an understanding of how tilting trains behave differently to conventional trains and how this should be taken into account when gauging. The course also covers how to use current ClearRoute tilting train models. This is an essential course for anyone using tilting train models in ClearRoute. The certification covers the following areas: Reasons for tilting trains Operational modes including active, passive and failed Compensating for Tilt Lead and Lag Use of current Tilting Train Vehicle Models in ClearRoute : Virgin Pendolino - Class 390 and Virgin Super Voyager - Class 221 To initially gain the certification delegates should attend the Using Tilting Trains with ClearRoute Course (see page 9). The certification can then be renewed by attending the Using Tilting Trains with ClearRoute Assessment (see page 9).
