PRESSURIZED FLUID HAZARD WARNING Spray from the gun, hose leaks or ruptured components can splash fluid in the eyes or on the skin and cause serious injury. Do not stop or deflect fluid leaks with your hand, body, glove or rag. Follow the Pressure relief procedure on page 6 before cleaning, checking, or servicing the equipment. Tighten all fluid connections before each use. Check the hoses, tubes and couplings daily. Replace parts immediately if worn, damaged or loose. Permanently coupled hoses cannot be repaired. Handle and route hoses and tubes carefully. Keep the hoses and tubes away from moving parts and hot surfaces. Do not use the hoses to pull equipment. Do not expose Graco hoses to temperatures above 180F (82C) or below 40F ( 40C). EQUIPMENT MISUSE HAZARD Equipment misuse can cause the equipment to rupture, malfunction or start unexpectedly and result in serious injury. This equipment is for professional use only. Read all instruction manuals, tags, and labels before operating the equipment. Use the equipment only for its intended purpose. If you are in doubt about this, call Graco Technical Assistance at 1 800 543 0339. Do not alter or modify this equipment. Use only genuine Graco parts and accessories. Check equipment daily. Repair or replace worn or damaged parts immediately. Do not exceed the 100 psi (6.9 bar) maximum working pressure at 100 psi (6.9 bar) maximum incoming air pressure of the package, or the maximum working pressure of any accessory used with it. Do not move or lift pressurized equipment. Use fluids or solvents which are compatible with equipment wetted parts. See the Technical Data section of all equipment manuals. Read the fluid and solvent manufacturer s warnings. Fluid hoses must have spring guards on both ends to protect it from rupture caused by kinks or bends at or close to the couplings. Comply with all applicable local, state and national fire, electrical and other safety regulations.
Setup NOTES These instructions require that you also refer to your spray system manual for additional information. Be sure your air compressor can handle the additional air volume requirements when you add the second gun. The reference letters in the text and drawings refer to parts from the original system. Reference numbers refer to parts included in the kit. If the spray system has been used, flush it thoroughly before installing a kit. Follow the instructions in your separate sprayer manual. Use pipe sealant, such as Locktite Part No. 56765, on all the male threads, except where a male thread mates with a swivel connection. I. Install the hose kit. NOTE: A wall mounted system is shown in Fig. 1. The instructions for installing the kit are the same for all systems. 1. Relieve the pressure. 2. Replace the plug (B) in the bottom of the manifold (A) with the elbow (1). See Fig. 1. 3. Assemble the long nipple (2), the air regulator and gauge (3,4), and the nipple (9). Screw this assemble in to the elbow (1). See Fig. 1. Be sure the short air hose (C) goes over the long nipple (2). See Fig. 2. 3 A 4. Disconnect the fluid hose (G) from the nipple (F). See Fig. 2. 9 B 5. Remove the gauge (D) from the fluid regulator. Install a ball valve (8) and a bushing (7). See Fig. 2. Fig. 1 4 2 1 6. Remove the old nipple (F) from the fluid regulator (E). Assemble the new nipple (5), a tee (6), a ball valve (8) and a bushing (7). Screw this assembly into the fluid regulator (E). Install the original gauge (D) in the tee (6). See Fig. 2. D E F 7 8 E D 5 6 8 7 C G Fig. 2
Setup II. Connect the hoses and the gun to the system. 1. Connect the gun to the air and fluid hoses as instructed in your spray system instruction manual. 2. Connect the hoses to the system by matching the letters at the ends of the hoses to the corresponding letters at the air and fluid outlets. See Fig. 3. NOTE: The reference letters A and C are fluid hoses. The reference letters B and D are air hoses. NOTE: All air hoses have 1/4 18 npsm(f) fittings. All fluid hoses have 3/8 18 npsm fittings. The electrostatic gun and air hose have special left hand threads. 3. Verify that all fittings throughout the system are tightened securely. III. Ground the spray system. Refer to your spray system instruction manual to ensure that the system is electrically grounded. A A B B C C D D Fig. 3
Operation I. Pressure relief procedure. The system remains pressurized until the pressure is relieved manually. To reduce the risk of a serious injury from pressurized fluid, accidental spray from the gun, or splashing of any fluid, follow the pressure relief procedure at these times: WARNING You are instructed to relieve the pressure. You stop spraying. You check or service any system equipment. You install, clean or change the spray nozzles. 1. Be sure the air regulator for the pump is still open. 2. Turn off the ES On/Off valve lever, if you are using an electrostatic spray gun. 3. Trigger the spray gun to relieve the pressure. 4. Open the fluid recirculating valve, if you have a pail mounted system. II. Prime the system. 1. Follow the priming procedure given in the spray system instruction manual. 2. After the first gun and hose are primed, decrease the air pressure for the pump to 20 to 30 psi (1.4 to 2.1 bar). 3. Repeat the priming procedure for the second gun and hose. III. Set the fluid and air pressure. 1. Be sure the air regulators to both guns are closed. 2. Set the fluid and air pressure to the first gun as instructed in your spray package manual. 3. Repeat the procedure for the second gun, but this time use the new air regulator (3). 4. Simultaneously test the spray pattern again for both guns. Make any final adjustment that may be needed. IV. How to flush the system. 1. Follow the flushing procedure in your spray system instruction manual, using only one gun. Stop when you reach the step that instructs you to trigger the gun and run the pump until air comes from the gun. 2. Set the first gun aside. 3. Flush the second gun, starting at the step that instructs you to hold the gun against a grounded, metal waste pail. 4. When both guns are flushed, follow the step that instructs you to hold the gun against a grounded, metal waste pail. 5. Relieve the pressure.
