Globus family of brands Disability Accommodations We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance to a vacation participant for walking, dining, getting on and off the motorcoach and other vehicles or OTHER PERSONAL NEEDS. A qualified and physically able companion must accompany travelers who need such assistance and must assume full responsibility for their well being. The following addresses details on the following: Breathing Disabilities Food Allergies Motorized Scooters Oxygen Refrigeration Notice Service Dogs Sleep Apnea Wheelchair and Walker Users Breathing Disabilities Breathing difficulties are defined as Asthma, Emphysema, Bronchitis etc. (allergies to smoke, hay fever, food allergies etc. are not considered disabilities). Please be advised that we will make every effort to accommodate your clients in non-smoking room when and where available, but we can not guarantee non-smoking rooms. In the U.S.A. non-smoking rooms are easier to come by; in fact many hotel chains have gone completely non-smoking throughout the whole hotel. In generally we contract non-smoking rooms wherever available. In Europe sometimes a non-smoking room to them is considered a room that your clients are not smoking in at that time. This does not mean that the people that stayed there before them did not smoke in it. Again, in general we contract non-smoking rooms where available, but many hotels do not offer non-smoking rooms, or may have recently designated non-smoking rooms but have not had clean-up measures to remove a smoke smell. May we suggest that your clients bring air freshener or disinfectant with them in their suitcase? If your client(s) are bringing breathing machines that need to be plugged in such as nebulizers, etc. they are responsible for bringing all adapters, electricity converters, extension cords and batteries (if needed) etc. If they need distilled water they are responsible for purchasing it on their own. They may want to bring back-ups just in case of power outages. We are not responsible for any denial of services by carriers, hotels, or other independent suppliers.
Food Allergies In general, food allergies are not considered a disability. Meals are contracted far in advance and will generally have vegetarian choices. We will advise operations of any food allergies that you convey to us, however special meals can not be planned. Any specific food items outside of what is contracted is at the expense of the passenger. Please advise the Tour Director of any food allergies while on vacation. The Tour Director will do whatever is possible to assist with food choices. Motorized Scooters Permission for the use of a motorized scooter must be given and is considered on a case by case basis. A separate release must be signed prior to vacation. Tour participant acknowledges that he/she is fully responsible for the operation, use, loading, unloading, storage, and other use of said scooter; that he/she fully assumes the risk of all injuries and damages pertaining to the use of said scooter; and further agrees to release and hold harmless Globus, its associated companies, agents, employees, and tour directors, from any claims, demands, rights, and actions of whatever kind, arising from or by reason of any personal injury or property damage, or consequence thereof, resulting from or in any way connected with the use of said scooter, including third party claims. The tour participant further certifies that he/she is familiar with the tour s itinerary, and releases the Globus family of brands from any and all liability related to inaccessibility of any part of said itinerary, and is accompanied by a qualified companion fully able to assist tour participant in all necessary respects. Please be advised that the tour participant and companion are completely responsible for the loading and unloading of the scooter. They are also responsible for the assembly and disassembly of the scooter, as well as bringing all adapters, converters, extension cords, and extra batteries (or battery packs) with them that they will need to operate the scooter. Most transportation services, including the touring motorcoach, are not equipped with wheelchair lifts. Please also be advised that motorized scooters are not typically suitable for international tours.
Oxygen Guidelines for Travel with Portable Oxygen Concentrators Portable Oxygen Concentrators are replacing oxygen tanks because they are compact, lightweight, and available anywhere. Because they are not combustible they are much safer for travel. converters, extension cords and batteries (if needed). They may want to bring back-up batteries and additional power packs with them as battery durations may vary and outlets may not be accessible for at least 8 hours or more. Please provide us with dimensions of the unit. Globus family of brands is not responsible for any denial of services by hotels, carriers, independent suppliers, and compatibility of equipment. Guidelines for Travel with Oxygen Tanks Passengers are allowed to travel with two (2) oxygen tanks, full or empty, at any time on the coach or cruise. The oxygen tanks must be smaller than 165-liter. Passengers are responsible for all arrangements for the procurement, refill or exchange of oxygen tanks while traveling, unfortunately we can not deadhead tanks. Arrangements should be scheduled during free time so as not to disrupt the tour. The coach cannot be used as transportation. **Please check with your local oxygen company for more information.** There may be additional charges for extra baggage. As oxygen is combustible, travel with canisters may be prohibited by some airlines. It is suggested that arrangements be made for pickup of canisters at arrival destination. Refrigeration Notice We would like to inform you that the motor coach or other modes of transportation will not have refrigeration nor can we guarantee it in the hotel rooms. May we suggest that the client(s) travel with a small cooler and/or chemical ice packs? Clients will be allowed to bring an extra carry-on if needed at no extra charge. In addition while traveling in foreign countries please know: Most countries have laws forbidding the storage of medication with food products. Ice may not be readily available. Service Animals Permission for use of a service animal on North America vacations must be given and is considered on a case by case basis. A separate release must be signed prior to vacation. The animal must be a certified service animal. The following are guidelines for policies and procedures that comply with the ADA. Globus family of brands will not refund any portion of the cost of the tour in the event the animal is asked to leave an attraction, restaurant, etc. or denied admission to any place the tour group ventures. The owner is responsible for any additional fees that may be required. We will advise all hotels and attractions and do not foresee any problems. However the carriers, accommodations, and other suppliers providing services are independent contractors and are solely responsible for any decisions/considerations regarding service animals. Any additional costs associated with the animal is the sole responsibility of the owner. The owner is solely responsible for the animal and its care and under no circumstances should such care interfere with, inconvenience, or cause delays on the trip. The owner is liable for any injuries to other Globus customers, and or any damages caused by the animal. Sleep Apnea Please review the information below with your passengers. Wheelchair and Walker Users Foreign travel may pose special challenges for disabled tour participants. Globus family of brands will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the special needs of disabled tour participants, but is not responsible for any denial of services by carriers, hotels, restaurants, or other independent suppliers. In this regard, please note the following: The United States is the only country with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); no other part of the world provides similar guidelines. Touring motorcoaches are not equipped with wheelchair lifts. Taxis, public buses, subways, trains and other modes of transportation may be similarly unequipped. Also our river cruises are not wheelchair accessible. ***Note: This also applies to walkers**** Hotels, restaurants, public toilets, tourist attractions and archeological sites may not have made special provisions to accommodate wheelchairs or other disabilities. Even if special provisions are available, access is not always possible. In some cities access to boats and bridges cause particular problems. Also gravel roads and cobblestone streets my pose additional problems because of uneven ground. We regret that the Globus family of brands cannot provide individual assistance to a tour member for walking, dining, and getting on and off motorcoaches and other transportation vehicles, or other personal needs. A qualified companion must accompany travelers who need such assistance. Seat rotation is mandatory on all of our tours regardless of the disability. Please be sure that your traveling companion is physically able to carry you as needed and provide any special assistance you may need should the occasion arise.
