Soaring Flight During unpowered flight, all unnecessary electrical equipment must be switched off to ensure sufficient electrical power to restart the engine. All large electrical current consumers (i.e. position and strobe lights, landing light) are switched off by an automatic relay. On start up the automatic relay switches the electrical consumers back on. 1. Best Glide ratio 1:28 @ 62 Kts (IAS) 2. Min sink rate 217 fpm 58 Kts (IAS) 3. Best Thermaling speed 51 Kts (IAS) Engine Shutdown in Flight 1. Throttle IDLE 2. Airspeed (54 Kts) MAINTAIN 3. Cylinder head temperature (150 o C) CHECK 4. Avionic main switch OFF 5. Ignition OFF 6. Feather propeller PULL/ROTATE 7. Avionic main switch ON 8. Unnecessary electrical equipment OFF Caution the PROPELLER may only be feathered with the ENGINE OFF and the PROPELLER WINDMILLING
