King Industries NSF HX-1 Registered Products King Industries now offers a number of high performance additives and base oils/base oil modifiers that are NSF HX-1 registered for use in lubricants with incidental food contact. Complying with FDA CFR 178.3570, these specialty products include: KR-006FG, KR-015FG, and KR-029FG are unique alkylated aromatic base oils with good solubility and exceptional hydrolytic and thermo-oxidative stability. Synthetic Base Oils KR-006FG, KR-015FG & KR-029FG These unique synthetic base oils are used to formulate high performance lubricants and greases. They offer outstanding solubility and excellent hydrolytic and thermo-oxidative stability. The chart that follows offers a relative, property comparison of the KR products to other commonly used HX-1 base fluids. Normally, run at 135 C, KR-015FG and a PAO were tested at elevated temperatures (200 C and 225 C) both neat and with an package containing an antioxidant and a yellow metal deactivator. Not surprisingly, due to breakdown and polymerization, the PAO experienced a very high viscosity increase. When tested using Pressure Differential Scanning Calorimetry versus both a white oil and PAO, at 200 C and 210 C, the KR products again demonstrated their superior oxidative stability. Multi-functional Additive AW-6400FG NA-LUBE AW-6400FG is an ashless, HX-1 approved, multi-functional additive that offers anticorrosion, antiwear and EP properties. Antioxidant AO-142 NA-LUBE AO-142 is a butylated, octylated, diphenylamine antioxidant that can be used at levels up to 0.50% in food grade applications. It is ashless, non-corrosive and soluble in a wide range of H-1 base fluids.
