Hose pumps SP 04 Range of application: Hose pump SP 04 is suitable for delivering fluid and gaseous media, either for simple conveyance or precise proportioning. The use of different hose materials allows for the delivery of different chemicals, abrasive materials, corrosive or sterile media. Hose pump SP 04 is used in laboratories, in analytical and medical systems, in biotechnology, in the food industry, as well as other industrial areas. Three models are available: integrated pump exterior pump laboratory pump Mode of operation: Hose pump SP 04 belongs to the group of positive displacement pumps. The pump operates without valves or seals. The transported media is forced through a hose, which can be quickly exchanged and is therefore very economical. While transporting the medium, the hose is being pinched together by two spring-loaded compression rollers. Thus, the rotating movement of the rollers pushes the medium from the suction side to the discharge side of the hose. Beyond the point, where the hose is being pinched together, the hose expands and creates a vacuum, causing the medium to be drawn forward. The flow rate depends on the RPM of the pump s rotor (roller supports), the inner diameter of the hose, the elasticity of the hose, the back pressure, as well as the viscosity of the transported medium. The inner diameter of the hose, its wall thickness, and the elasticity of the hose determine the extent of the vacuum. The pressure depends on the elasticity of the hose and the contact pressure of the compression rollers. The pump motor is equipped with two compression rollers and four guide rolls. The compression rollers are located opposite to each other, thereby sealing the hose, regardless of the pump rotor s orientation. The guide rolls ensure the hose will remain in a track, which is favourable for the compression rollers. Changing the hose is very easy and does not require any tools. First, the knurled nut is loosened and together with the screw tilted toward the top. Then the pump housing is pulled down and away. Both the hose adapter and the hose itself can now be pulled out and to the side of the guides. The replacement hose can be installed in exactly the reverse order. page 1-2

Hose pumps SP 04 General information Integrated pumps SP04 E, SP 04 EG Integrated pumps are suitable for the installation inside a housing, whereby the pump head is mounted outside of the enclosure and the motor complete with gear is mounted inside. A shaft connects the pump head with the gear and the pump head is attached, using two knurled nuts. The pump head can be removed by loosening both knurled nuts. Using the two threaded studs, the motor and gear can now be attached to the wall of the housing. The pump head can be reattached to the outside and fastened, using both knurled nuts. The wall thickness of either the housing or the front plate should not exceed 6 mm. An angled plate with two through holes 4.2 mm, at 70 mm spacing, serves as an alternate attachment method. The hose pump can be mounted with two M 4 screws. Exterior pumps SP 04 G, SP 04 GR Hose pumps SP 04 G and SP 04 GR are similar in design to the integrated device. A cover protects both motor and gear, and a fine-wire fuse is built into the front plate. A cable connects the pump to the power supply. This model is mainly mounted to the outside walls of housings, equipment or machines. An angled plate with two through holes 4.2 mm, at 70 mm spacing, is used to attach the pump. The hose pump can be mounted with two M 4 screws. Laboratory pumps SP 04 L The design of the hose pump SP 04 L is similar to that of the integrated model. A precision direct current motor activates the pump. The flow capacity is infinetely variable and the motor s rotational direction is reversible. A power cable is supplied. General information All models are supplied ready-to-operate. Standard type adaptors are used as hose connections. Should you require a special design, please indicate so with your order. When ordering a special design, complete replacement hose sets and replacement pump heads, a product code number will be supplied with the order confirmation or with the delivery of the item. This ensures future orders of the device or spare part can be expedited effortless. Upon request, the integrated models SP 04 E and SP 04 EG can also be delivered with a blue-coloured pump head. Different flow capacities and voltages are also available. page 1-4
