S7 Installation Guide 2007-2008 Suzuki GSXR 1000!! THIS PRODUCT IS DESIGNED FOR USE IN CLOSED COURSE RACING AND IS NOT INTENDED FOR HIGHWAY USE!!

Congratulations on the purchase of your new TaylorMade underbelly exhaust kit for your GSXR. Your new exhaust is fabricated from titanium and thin wall stainless steel so will never rust. The black finish is a baked on ceramic coating and only requires washing with soap and water to keep clean. Any competent mechanic with basic tools can install the kit but if you have any doubts in your mechanical abilities entrust installation to an experienced workshop. Time to fit is approximately 1-2 hours depending on familiarity. All directions are given as if you are sat on the bike: e.g. Left = gear change side. Fitting is straightforward but please do read the instructions carefully, as they will help you get the job done quicker and more easily. Tool List : 4 mm allen wrench Small flat head screw driver Hacksaw 10 mm socket 13 mm socket Parts List: 1 Right side Carbon Trim Piece 1 Left side Carbon Trim Piece 1 Muffler with Trim Bracket 1 Muffler Clamp 1 Muffler Strap 1 Left side Trim Bracket 1 45 mm Trim Grip 1 30 mm Trim Grip 2 x M8 Hex Head Bolt 2 x M8 Washers 2 x M8 Nyloc Nuts 1 plastic rivet 2

Stage One Disassembly 1) Remove right hand fairing lower: a) In the lower surface of the bottom front of the fairing is a plastic fastener. Remove this fastener by gently popping it open with a small screwdriver and then pulling it out from the fairings. b) Remove 3 allen bolts from the top, center, and rear of the fairing. c) Pull the fairing panel off the bike noting the four press in attaching points as shown to the Right. 2) Repeat on Left hand fairing lower. NOTE: There is no center fastener. There are only three press-in attaching points on the Left side. 3) Set fairings in a safe place to avoid damage. 4) Remove Stock Mufflers. IMPORTANT! Disconnect O2 sensor 4-pin connector on left side of bike before starting muffler removal! Install the white O2 sensor eliminator plug provided in your hardware kit into the ECU where the O2 sensor plugged in. a) Remove both mufflers b) Remove stock muffler box c) Unbolt two rear muffler box mounts 3

5) Locate center forward stock muffler box mount (This should be the only remaining muffler mount). a) Remove rubber grommet. b) Use a hacksaw to cut through the thinnest part of the mount loop. You should remove the lower half of the mount loop, about 20 mm or ¾ inch. NOTE: You will still be able to safely remount your stock exhaust with the original remaining rear mounts. 6) From the inside of the Right rear mount, thread supplied M8x20 hex head bolt through the hole in lower rear muffler mount frame tab on Right side of bike. NOTE: Threads should be facing away from the center of the bike. 7) Repeat on Left side. 8) Locate stock muffler trim plate a) Remove shouldered socket screws and rubber grommets from trim plate b) Insert rubber grommets into mounting tabs on bottom of TMR Carbon Fiber trim pieces. NOTE! If you mount your TaylorMade muffler without removing the two stock mounts and the front loop, you will damage your exhaust and VOID your warranty! Check before continuing your installation. 4

Stage Two Assembly 1) Make sure the muffler clamp is on your TMR muffler with the bolt head at upper right. Push your new TaylorMade muffler fully home over the outlet stub of the headers. A little light oil applied to the slip joint will ease the mounting of the muffler. 2) Check that the muffler body is horizontal. 3) Identify the L/H side of the muffler hanger (the short tab). Push the hole in the tab over the protruding threads of the bolt you just installed in the L/H, rear muffler mounting frame tab. Place TMR trim bracket over the same bolt. Thread on M8 washer and Nyloc and leave finger tight. 4) Stretch the muffler hanger under the muffler and locate the R/H mounting tab over the threads of the M8 bolt in the stock R/H muffler mount. Thread on a washer and M8 Nyloc. 5) Check that the muffler is horizontal and seated with the strap under the CENTER of the can, then tighten the R/H mounting bolt. 6) Tighten muffler clamp onto the headers. Make sure the muffler crushes down onto the header pipe. (Recommend torque 25ft-lb) 7) Insert white electrical blanking plug into main wiring harness connector in place of O2 sensor. 8) Reattach fairing panels leaving the rear bolt out on both sides 9) With the side stand up, slip the front of the L/H TMR trim piece into the rear of the L/H fairing. 10) Insert the stock bolt through the hole in fairing and trim piece and tighten. 11) Insert the shouldered bolt you removed from the stock muffler trim plate, and insert it through the rubber grommet in the rear mounting tab. 12) Screw bolt into mounting bracket at rear of TMR muffler and tighten. 13) Align upper hole in trim with the hole in the upper mounting bracket. You can use a small awl or screwdriver to help line up the holes. 14) Separate the plastic rivet and push the outer shell through hole in trim piece and bracket. 5

15) Press the inner rivet through the hole and snap tight. 16) Tighten the L/H muffler mount with a 13 mm socket. 17) Move to the Right side of the bike, and slip the front of the R/H TMR Carbon Fiber trim piece into the rear of the R/H fairing. 18) Screw in stock bolt and tighten 19) Press the opening of the trim piece over the exhaust exit. The tip should be slightly sticking out from the surface of the Carbon trim. Screw shouldered bolt though bottom tab in trim into mounting point at rear of muffler. Tighten. Place the muffler so there is no contact between the exit and the trim panel. Be sure muffler exit protrudes through the exhaust hole in trim 1-2 millimeters. 20) Check alignment. If muffler tip is not aligned in exit, remove trim and check angle and fit of muffler. NOTE: There should be no physical contact between trim and tip. 21) Use 30 mm trim grip at top of overlap between fairing and trim piece. Place trim grip over overlapped edges and snap into place. 22) Snap 45mm trim grip over bottom overlap. 23) Seat trim and check clearances. Now, stand back and take a moment to admire the results of all your hard work. All that remains is to fire her up and go for a spin. After running the bike for approximately 100 miles go over all fasteners and check for tightness. TMR recommends the use of Loctite and safety wire in all racing applications. If you experience any problems with the fitment of your TaylorMade Exhaust components or these instructions, the technicians at TaylorMade will be pleased to help. Just give us a call. Safe Riding, Paul Taylor 6

Proper care guidelines for your TaylorMade Exhaust All components of your new exhaust are fabricated from thin wall stainless steel so it will never rust. The black finish is a baked-on ceramic coating which only requires washing with soap and water to help keep it clean. To keep your carbon fiber looking new, we recommend a regular application of Turtle Wax s Color Magic in black. The muffler has an absorption design which relies on a fiberglass packing to absorb noise, heat and vibration. Over time the packing will degrade and will require replacing to maintain sound absorption quality and integrity of the muffler. In normal use repacking will be necessary every 6000-7000 miles. Extended periods of use at high RPMs will significantly reduce this service interval. A sure sign that repacking is required is when there is a noticeable increase in sound level. When your muffler needs servicing please contact our service team here at TaylorMade, who will be pleased to inspect and refurbish your muffler at a minimal cost.
