Caterpillar Work Tools have been developed specifically for Caterpillar Telehandlers to deliver exceptional performance, versatility, serviceability and customer support. Cat Work Tools are designed to optimize machine versatility and flexibility, and to deliver maximum performance, durability and reliability when used on Cat Telehandlers. They enable a single machine to perform a variety of tasks in a wide range of applications. See Page 13 for telehandler/work tool compatibility. Consult individual machine load charts for proper loading capabilities. Ease of Operation. These tools are designed with the operator in mind. Hook-up is easily accomplished for fast, secure work tool changes with the unique Cat hydraulic quick coupler design. Hose routing, hose length and quick disconnects have been optimized to ensure proper guiding, protection and fit-up. Tool operation is easy with Cat s joystick design, which puts control of work tool functions at the operator s fingertips. Serviceability. Caterpillar Work Tools utilize proven components, such as Caterpillar hydraulic hoses, couplings, O-ring face seals, hardware and bolt-on cutting edge. Each of these components is easily replaceable to extend work tool life, simplify servicing and reduce downtime. Customer Support. Hydraulic Quick Coupler. Most models of Caterpillar Telehandlers and Cat Telehandler Work Tools incorporate the proven Cat hydraulic quick coupler, which allows operators to quickly change from one high performance work tool to another. 2
Cat Access Platform Allows high reach access and one-man operation. The Caterpillar Access Platform is especially useful when performing high reach work such as building maintenance, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building erection and tree trimming. The THP10 Fixed Access Platform enables work to be carried out at height, in a traditional manner covering a vertical path, where there are no space restrictions at ground level. Controls are located on the platform, allowing one-man operation of boom and engine functions. Two speed controls provide precise operation of boom raise/lower and extend/retract functions. All cab controls are immobilized when the machine is in platform operation mode. The engine can be started and stopped from the platform. Sensors prevent driving the machine when the platform is raised above the road travel position. 3
Cat Buckets Variety of styles accommodate most jobsite needs. Caterpillar offers five types of buckets for Cat Telehandlers: General Purpose; Grapple; Light Material; Material Handling; and Multi Purpose. While they share many common features, each is designed to perform certain specific tasks. General purpose buckets are the all-around choice for loading, carrying, dumping and performing general cleanup work. Multi purpose bucket offers excellent versatility for rehandling, dozing, grading, leveling and dumping, as well as grasping irregularly shaped objects. Cat Carriages Lift and place a variety of palletized materials. Caterpillar Carriages are designed to handle all kinds of palletized loads in all types of applications. Two widths are available 1220 mm (48 in) and 1850 mm (74 in). Five configurations are offered side-shift, standard width, standard rotating, wide and wide rotating. Load backrests provide safety and stability. Rotating carriages rotate 12 degrees to either side for precise load positioning. Side-shift carriages can shift either left or right of center by 150 mm (6 in) for greater maneuverability when picking up or placing loads. All carriages work across all B-Series Telehandlers with common 60 mm (2.4 in) bar. Cat Forks Handle brick, block, bulky materials and palletized loads. Caterpillar offers both Block Forks and Pallet Forks for a wide variety of material handling jobs. Block Forks are available in sets of four or six for handling brick or block, respectively. Pallet forks are offered in three lengths. When ordering, it is important to match forks and carriages. Round bar design allows fork tines to be adjusted or changed easily. Locking screws secure the fork tines in place. 6
Cat Lifting Hook Lifts and carries suspended loads. The Caterpillar Lifting Hook is designed to lift and place objects and portable equipment in building construction, plumbing and civil engineering applications. One hook is offered, with a lift capacity range suitable for all Cat Telehandler models. 360-degree swivel design. Three-inch safety strap capability. Safety latch aids strap retention. Cat Material Handling Arm Lifts and places objects and equipment. The Caterpillar Material Handling Arm is designed to lift and place materials and equipment such as small generators, welding machines, concrete pipe and other objects. One material handling arm is available for all Cat Telehandler models. Telescoping capabilities. Three different locked positions. Multiple lift points allow the material handling arm to handle many different load lengths and weights. 360-degree swivel hook. Three-inch safety strap capability. Cat Self Tipping Hopper Ideal for collecting and disposing of jobsite debris. The Caterpillar Self Tipping Hopper features a container-type design for collecting and disposing of jobsite debris and all kinds of refuse material. One hopper is available. Welded plate construction provides superior strength. Manual release handle is located on the cab side of the hopper for easy emptying. Self-locking mechanism on the hopper fork heels helps assure safe operation. Cat Truss Boom Lifts and places roof trusses, frames, beams and equipment. The Caterpillar Truss Boom is designed to lift and place materials such as roof trusses, frames and beams, as well as equipment. One length is available for all Cat Telehandlers. Additional horizontal and vertical reach allows loads to be placed in hard to reach areas. Designed to provide optimum visibility while carrying trusses during travel mode. 8
Cat Manure Forks Load, handle and spread manure and silage in agricultural applications. Caterpillar offers four manure forks for loading, handling and spreading manure and silage in farming applications. Manure Fork and Grab is ideal for grasping manure and bedding materials and provides excellent load penetration and reduced spillage. Heavy Duty Manure Fork is designed for loading, handling and spreading manure and silage. Heavy Duty Manure Fork and Grab is ideal for grasping manure, providing excellent load penetration and reduced spillage in many types of environments, including muck or silage. Heavy Duty Manure Fork, Grab and Pusher is ideal for grasping manure, providing excellent load penetration and reduced spillage. The pusher provides controlled, even discharge of the load while maximizing the lift height of the machine. Cat Bale Handler Loads and carries round and square bales of straw and hay. The Caterpillar Bale Handler is designed to load, carry and handle round and square bales of cotton, straw, hay or other similar materials, whether wrapped or unwrapped. Two arrangements are supplied with the bale handler-one features a multispike arrangement for handling a variety of bale shapes and sizes, the other features curved arms for careful handling of wrapped bales. Hydraulically operated clamp either ensures firm grip of the bale when wrapped or squeezes straw bales onto the spikes, providing superior load retention. Changing between arrangements is simple and easy, taking a few minutes using basic tools. 9
