01 Introducing the new locking system Eldon s new locking system is equipped on all floor standing enclosure ranges made of mild or stainless steel. Mild steel: May 2016 Stainless steel: April 2017 Enhanced security; Smoother locking operation; Improved aesthetics; Robust locking system; Integrated safety measures. The system comes with a new sleek lock cover, that can be customized with your company s name or logo, improving the overall aesthetics of Eldon s floor standing enclosures. Fully compatible with the redesigned Eldon s locking inserts, the system is equipped with an enhanced security click indicator which makes users aware that the locking system is either fully opened or closed. The locking system s rods are positioned parallel to the enclosure door, offering an improved flush design. The locking rods, combined with the new locking catchers, create a self-positioning system which ensures that the enclosure door can be opened or closed smoothly. Double door enclosures are delivered with a locking system fitted to the slave door, as standard. This allows users to gain access to the enclosure, while keeping the slave door locked for security and protection reasons. The slave door locking system ensures a smooth overall locking process, by eliminating any resistance caused by the master door. The metallic lift handle is made of zamak and is finished in either RAL 5013, for mild steel enclosures, or a matte chrome paint, for stainless steel enclosures. Offering a robust solution, the lift handles can be used with Eldon s range of locking inserts or half cylinders. Addressing the competitive needs of a panel builder to achieve faster turn-around times, the CCI and CCM baying brackets take ease of use and speed of installation to a whole new level. 01 New profile system Cut your assembly time by up to 80%! The CLPF profile system is supplied with the fixation bracket pre-assembled in the profile, thus significantly reducing the assembly time. Tool-free installation; Reduced assembly time; Pre-assembled brackets in the profile; Tested load capacity. 2017 The CLPF profile system is a 40 mm wide and 25 mm high profile, which can be mounted in all directions on the enclosure s frame. When the profile is in position, it is fixed with a snap-line, therefore no tools are required for the installation. The innovative fixation system allows brackets to pivot, and overall assembly time is drastically reduced. When mounted on the frame of the enclosure, the profiles are flush with the enclosure s profiles. Two rows of hole patterns for cage nut fixing and self tapping screws are provided. The CLPF profile system can also be used in combination with other accessories such as sliding nuts, GLM, to mount components which require continuous adjusting in depth. 12 Innovations 13

Typical applications encompass automation & control and power distribution systems, where it is necessary to install multiple enclosures in-line. The increased strength of the latest side panels stem from an innovative S bend as well as an increase in material thickness. In addition, Eldon s customers also benefit from a smart hanging design feature, that allows the side panels to be hung from the enclosure using a unique bend across the top edge of the side panel, which makes the installation fast and easy. New time-saving section profile for cable entry 01 The profile comes with the foam pre-fitted, therefore the customer no longer has to fit the foam manually, which reduces assembly time; The foam is fixed much more securely, ensuring that it remains in place when customers pull cables through into the enclosure; The profile features a click-in fixing, which allows fast and easy fixing of the profile to the bottom plate. The section profile with pre-fitted foam can be mounted easily onto the bottom plates of Eldon s mild steel floor standing enclosures thanks to a time-saving, click-in fixing solution. The new profile is designed to seal the cable entry between floor standing enclosure bottom plates. The foam fills the gaps formed around the cables and ensures a seal which effectively prevents dust from entering. Eldon s upgraded range of floor standing mild steel compact enclosures is designed to help users further speed-up assembly, reduce their stock keeping needs, improve flexibility and deliver on their bottom line, by cutting assembly and labor costs. Eldon prides itself on going the extra mile to make business easier for its customers and the company s upgraded mild steel compact enclosures reflect that commitment. Designed to speed-up assembly time, deliver increased flexibility and improve customer s bottom line, Eldon s latest mild steel compact enclosures are designed for use in indoor environments, where removable panels are not required. Eldon s compact enclosures are the perfect choice when it comes to residential automation and control solutions or for being integrated into larger processing systems or machines. Closing the gap between Eldon s compact and combinable enclosures, the EK range of enclosures are fully compatible with most of the floor standing enclosure accessories, thanks to the improved CLPFK vertical profiles, which mirror the combinable enclosure hole pattern in the rear of compact enclosures. This smart solution increases the compact floor standing enclosures flexibility and usability. There are more benefits: Eldon includes rivet nuts for the fixation holes in the top of the enclosure and welded nuts for the fixation holes in the bottom. This means that lifting bolts, plinths and wooden pallets can be conveniently installed and/or removed from the exterior of the enclosure. In order to ensure compatibility with Eldon s floor standing enclosure plinths (PF), the corners of the plinths have been modified to include an extra hole. Eldon s compact enclosures are compatible with LE9304, MPA06 and CCB02. Additionally, Eldon is delivering compact enclosures on higher quality wooden pallets used for combinable and semi-compact enclosures. The CLPFK vertical profiles are delivered with a pack quantity of 2, which means 1 pack per compact enclosure. 01 New outdoor combinable floor standing enclosure Flexible design: allows outdoor enclosure assemblies to be built in different dimensions, according to needs; Anti-vandalism: panel joints are gap-less, and all fitting elements and screws are hidden and not accessible from the outside; Corrosion resistance: the stainless steel frame and the aluminium walls provide higher corrosion resistance properties than mild or galvanized steel alternatives. Eldon s outdoor enclosures range has been expanded with a new outdoor combinable floor standing version, equipped with a stainless steel frame and double aluminium walls. The combinable design provides extensive flexibility to the solution, allowing assemblies to be built in a number of different dimensions. The walls of the enclosures in the floor standing aluminium range are made from high quality marine grade aluminium, AlMg3, which is light and highly corrosion resistant. This material also offers good heat dissipation and the double wall design provides 80% higher cooling efficiency than a single wall version, if the enclosure is installed outdoors and exposed to the sun. The new outdoor combinable floor standing enclosure is based on the stainless steel floor standing enclosure and, since it uses the same frame design, all the accessories are compatible. Typical applications are outdoor and range from rail and road traffic control equipment to water treatment plants and telecommunication applications in the field. The welded frame guarantees a strong, rigid enclosure which is well suited for heavy duty applications. A wide range of accessories allows for any configuration. And, since all enclosure versions are designed around the same platform, the same accessories may be used on all versions. This makes engineering easier and allows for stock reduction with panel builders and distributors. Wall Mounted Enclosures Wall mounted combining kit 02 Wall Mounted Enclosures A combined wall mounted enclosure solution that is externally tested to guarantee IP 66; A variety of dimensional requirements for enclosure solutions can be met; Standard stocked product, providing the customer with a fast solution; Puzzle design combining gasket kit can be used on all wall mounted enclosures, from 300 high to 1200 high, 150 deep to 400 deep, from one single kit; The gasket has self-adhesive properties on one side, ensuring that the assembly is quick and easy. Eldon s combining kit meets customer demands for consistent product development. Eldon s latest wall mounted combining kit was designed to provide customers with enhanced flexibility and a large variety of options. The kit provides customers with a stocked solution that has been externally tested and guarantees IP 66, enabling them to make numerous wall mounted enclosure configurations, including bayed wall mounted enclosures equal to non-standard dimensions. Eldon s wall mounted combining kit contains a gasket that is made from EPDM, which offers excellent overall properties and is suitable for a *wide range of environments, both indoor and outdoor. *It should not be used in industries where the gasket is exposed to oil or petrol residues, as this can degrade the gasket. Wall Mounted Enclosures 02 The new ADI/ADIS inner doors Wall Mounted Enclosures November 2016 Providing an additional layer of mounting, while restricting access to the rear components; Higher protection against hazardous parts. Continuously gathering customer feedback, Eldon s Product Management team is focused on defining and prioritizing the market requirements, developing new items and upgrading existing products to best serve our customers. A good example are the new ADI / ADIS inner doors for wall mounted mild and stainless steel enclosures, a product that was redesigned to comply with IP 2XC, in accordance with IEC 60529. The inner doors are used to enhance security and protection against the hazardous access to internal equipment, whenever the enclosure door is being opened to operate the equipment installed on the inner door. IP2XC confirms protection against hazardous parts with diameter of 12 mm and a length of 80 mm and also protection against a tool with diameter 2,5 mm and a length of 100 mm. Also, in combination with a transparent door, the new inner doors are used for control and measuring, housing push buttons, lights and switches, in order to provide easier access for operators to these components, but not to the internal equipment. Wall Mounted Enclosures 02 Wall Mounted enclosures new locking system Wall Mounted Enclosures 2017 Increased security thanks to the metallic double-bit insert; Smoother closing in the enclosures with espagnolette; Reliable protection degree even in high loaded doors. The security is very important for wall mounted enclosures and for this reason the lock in the mild steel enclosures is now made from metal as in the stainless steel enclosures. The new locking system increases the reliability of the protection degree even in doors carrying high loads. The lock, which has been changed from plastic to metal, is included in all the wall mounted enclosures, irrespective of size. In enclosures 1000 mm high and higher the lock acts on an espagnolette locking system (see the bars in red in the image), and this system has also been improved. The metallic double-bit insert makes the enclosure safer since it guards against the pin breaking. The new locking system includes two wheels top and bottom, which make closing and opening much smoother. Another improvement is that the plastic holders which guide the rods have a new geometry which puts the door in the right position during closing. This guarantees that the sealing between the door gasket and the enclosure rain gutter is perfect, even in applications in which the door is heavily loaded and may tend to hang up. The gasket compression is improved and any risk of the door not closing completely is avoided. The earthing of the lock is a must and this is easily done with the special fixation nut which electrically connects the lock with the door. 26 Innovations 27
Wall Mounted Enclosures 02 New 180º hinges Wall Mounted Enclosures 2017 Die cast manufacturing which improves the aesthetics; Easier and faster assembly; Machining is not required. Now available for our our wall mounted enclosures is a new range of 180 hinges that can be retrofitted without any machining where necessary. The new hinges are produced by die casting which greatly improves the aesthetics. Since the new 180º hinges are assembled in the same way as the standard hinges, in the body and in the door, replacing the standard hinges with the new 180º hinges is extremely easy. No additional machining is required; the task can be carried out quickly, even in the field, and with the enclosure completely equipped. 180º hinges are often required for wall mounted enclosures because, in many applications, it is an advantage to have a door opening of more than the standard 130. This is particularly true when maintenance or other work inside the enclosure is required in the field, since it makes the job much easier. In some cases this need is identified when the enclosure is already installed. In this situation our new hinge offers major advantages since it can be installed quickly and easily without any machining (always a complex task and sometimes impossible in the field). 28 Innovations 29
Wall Mounted Enclosures 02 New mounting interior profile Wall Mounted Enclosures 2017 Now available is a new mounting profile for wall mounted enclosures which gives much greater scope for mounting typical accessories, such as lights or temperature control equipment, inside the enclosure. The assembly of the profile does not require any machining, which would put at risk the protection degree of the enclosure. Assembly is extremely easy, it is simply a case of placing the profile in position and tightening one screw. Easy to use profile which does not require machining; Flexible system for mounting equipment. The profile includes the standard 25 mm hole pattern normally used in the other profile systems to make design and fixing of the components easier. It must always be installed in depth, but in any position on the sides, bottom or top. With these profiles we can also use the profiles system CLPF in the wall mounted enclosures (between two profiles) which are normally used in the floor standing range. 30 Innovations 31
Human Machine Interface 03 Upgraded panel stay in console desk units Human Machine Interface Eldon continuously improves its products to provide the best possible functionality. For this reason, all Eldon console desk units come equipped with an upgraded panel stay offering three open positions. January 2016 A benefit if viewing windows on consoles are used to protect installed components; A practical solution where consoles are in locations that do not allow the middle panel to be fully opened. Eldon consoles are typically used whenever a complex process needs to be controlled or specific parameters need to be entered by an operator. For processes where a number of information sources need to be monitored in real time, Eldon s modular console system is recommended for its characteristics and will be normally used. The panel stay comes with a three-position bracket that allows the user to select the opening angle of the desk section. The panel can be opened 90º, 77º or 58º. The panel stay is available in the compact console range, both in mild steel consoles, MPG, and stainless steel consoles, MPGS. Furthermore, desk section units of the MPC modular console range also include the panel stay, in both mild steel consoles, MPCxx2, and stainless steel ones, MPCSxx2. 03 Human Machine Interface New Operator Interface Control Enclosure, OICE Human Machine Interface Being one of the more visible parts of a machine, the control enclosure for HMI applications has an outstanding design and an excellent finish. 2017 Reinforced fixation compatible with both medium and light swing arm systems; Easy to remove aluminium front panel; Unique finish due to extruded aluminium handles. The control enclosure is one of the parts of the machine which is constantly being moved, therefore the fixation between the enclosure and the swing arm system must be extremely strong. In the new design, the roof of the enclosure has been reinforced with a 3 mm thickness steel plate. The compatibility with both arm systems, medium SM and light SL, is excellent and the fixation does not require any machining. The main equipment in the control enclosures is assembled on the aluminium front plate, significantly simplifying the assembly work. But in many cases auxiliary components must be mounted inside the enclosure, and the fixation studs available allow the customer to use standard accessories from the steel terminal boxes range, such as profiles or mounting plates, easy and without any machining. The extruded aluminium handles, the plastic parts to cover the front plate fixation, together with the improved overall design considerably improve the aesthetics of the enclosure. 34 Innovations 35
General Accessories LTLN enclosure light range 04 General Accessories Eldon is committed to continuously improving its products, focusing on both design and functionality. A typical example is the latest LTLN range of enclosure lights which offers features strongly focused on meeting the needs of the user. The LTL enclosure light range has been phased out and replaced by the LTLN range. Lights in the new range have a rugged industrial yet modern design. The housing is manufactured in RAL 7035 powder painted mild steel, giving a professional overall look and feel to match the enclosure. February 2016 Mounting is fast and easy since the lights are designed to be fitted on the frame hole pattern in floor standing enclosures; The lights are available in two different standard dimensions, specially designed to be fixed in 600 mm and 800 mm enclosures; An integrated electrical Schuko socket enables the use of additional appliances (e.g. when performing maintenance operations). Other socket possibilities are available on request; Both dimensions are equipped with fluorescent tubes, with a power consumption of 14 W and 18 W, respectively; Standard lights in the LTLN range are available for the most common voltage-frequency combinations. Other combinations are available on request; A power output connector allows a daisy chain connection when enclosure configurations consist of several bayed enclosures. Two dedicated accessories are available: a light cover for users who want extra protection, and a door switch designed specifically for the new LTLN range. All materials necessary to connect the LTLN to the door switch are included. General Accessories 04 DIN rail support brackets General Accessories As customer mounting requirements become increasingly diverse, Eldon continuously focuses on developing products that meet all market expectations. February 2017 Depth adjustment of the DIN rail for faster, more convenient wiring; Easier installation of terminals; Simplified cabling process during the panel building; Makes life easier for installers that need to do the cabling in the field. Customers can now choose support brackets for Eldon DIN rails. The brackets allow depth adjustment for easier wiring in various situations, such as performing installations in the field. Eldon DIN rails are used in a broad range of applications across all markets. They are mounted on the mounting plate inside the enclosures, or along the width of a terminal box. The DIN rails are usually mounted on a flat surface with no inclination and no space between the rail and the surface on which they are mounted. However, customers may choose a mounting option with support brackets, which allow further depth adjustment of the DIN rail for easier wiring. In almost every panel, terminals are required for the incoming / outgoing cables. When installing terminals, accessories for depth adjustment of the DIN rail, flat or inclined, are normally required, particularly when the installation needs to be performed in the field. Others 05 Low water absorption gasket Others Eldon has significantly improved its polyurethane gasket, guaranteeing 50% lower water absorption, a feature unique in the market. The immediate benefit arising from the improvement of the polyurethane gasket is the reduced risk of having water inside the gasket in environments where the enclosure may be exposed to water. The risk previously was that water in the gasket could be forced inside the enclosure due to the compression of the gasket when closing the door. With the new gasket, the performance of the stainless steel enclosures is greatly improved, making them safer and even more reliable, and thus further increasing their suitability and performance for outdoor applications. The polyurethane gasket is recommended for all types of environments and will be fitted on all enclosures in mild steel and stainless steel AISI 304L.
