Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the "Accessory Installation Practices" document. This document covers such items as:- Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.). Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy of this document. Fig. 1-1 10mm Socket Negative Battery Cable 1. Vehicle Disassembly. (a) Place Automatic Vehicles in low gear with the parking brake set. (b) Remove the negative battery cable. (Fig. 1-1) (1) Protect the fender before starting. (2) Note the Cable Position as it will be reinstalled in the same position. CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal. Fig. 1-2 Nylon Panel Removal Tool Nut Cowl Cover Step Cover Foot Rest (c) Remove the driver side foot rest, and the driver side step cover. (Fig. 1-2) (1) Cover the floor and seats before starting. NOTE: discard the foot rest. A replacement foot rest (PN: 58190-04021) must be used. (d) Remove driver side cowl cover. (Fig. 1-2) (1) Remove the nut securing the cowl cover. Nylon Panel Removal Tool, 10 mm Socket Lower Dash Cover M/T MODELS Cover FOR M/T VEHICLE MODELS ONLY. (Steps e-g) (e) Remove the small cover from the lower dash cover s right side. (Fig. 1-3) (f) Remove the hood release cable. (2) Remove the two bolts securing the cover.

Nylon Panel Removal Tool, 10mm Socket Lower Dash Cover A/T MODELS Cover FOR A/T VEHICLE MODELS ONLY. (Steps h-j) (h) Remove the small cover from the lower dash cover s right side. (2) Remove the two bolts securing the cover. 10mm Socket Bolt (x3) (k) Remove the metal substructure. (Fig. 1-5) (1) Remove 3 bolts. CAUTION: Sharp metal edges. Fig. 1-5 Metal Substructure Screw Phillips Screwdriver Screw (l) Remove the two screws securing the lower steering column cover behind the steering wheel. (Fig. 1-6) (1) Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to ON to unlock the steering wheel. (2) Turn the steering wheel left and right to gain access to the screws. (Fig. 1-8) CAUTION: Only apply tape on the Center Cluster Panel surface. (o) Using the Nylon Panel Removal Tool, remove the center cluster panel. (Fig. 1-8) (1) Loosen the four clips when removing the panel. (2) Disconnect all connectors from the panel. 10mm Socket Audio Unit (p) Remove the audio unit. (Fig. 1-9) (1) Remove 4 bolts. (2) Disconnect all connectors from the audio unit. NOTE: Prior to removing the radio assembly from the dash, cover the radio mounting tabs with a cloth to prevent damage to the vehicle. (Fig. 2-2) (d) Secure the V5 harness to the vehicle harness with 2 large wire ties. (Fig. 2-2) 13P (Black) 18P (White) (e) Locate and disconnect the black 13P connector, and two white 18P connectors from the driver side J/B. (Fig. 2-3) J/B Fig. 2-3 13P (Black) Fig. 2-4 18P medium Wire Ties (x5) 18P (White) 18P V5 Harness (f) Plug in the V5 harness black 13P connectors between the driver s side J/B and the vehicle harness black 13P connector. Plug in the V5 harness 18P connectors between the driver s side J/B and the vehicle harness white 18P connector. (Fig. 2-4) (1) Verify the connectors are plugged in securely. (g) Plug in the V5 harness' other white 18P connectors between the driver's side J/B and the vehicle harness' white 18P connector. (1) Verify the connectors are plugged in securely. (h) Secure the 13P(black) connectors, 2 18P connectors and to the vehicle harness with 5 medium Wire Ties, in front of the driver side J/B. (Fig. 2-4) (1) Align the V5 harness branch point to the end of the corrugated tube of the vehicle harness. 10P (Gray) Wire Terminal Fig. 2-5 (White) 2P (White) (i) Route the V5 harness' white wire terminal, white 2P connector and Gray 10P connectors behind the brace down toward the driver side cowl area as shown.(fig. 2-5) Page 7 of 22

Fig. 2-6 Vehicle s 10P (Gray) Tape Vehicle s 12P (White) (j) Locate the vehicle s white 12P connector in the driver side cowl area, and remove the electrical tape from the vehicle s white 12P connector, then disconnect it for clearance. (Fig. 2-6) (k) Locate the hole in the driver side cowl area, then pull out the vehicle harness Gray 10P connector and disconnect it. (Fig. 2-6) Tape 12P (White) (l) Plug the V5 harness' Gray 10P connectors between the vehicle harness' Gray 10P connectors, then insert the Gray 10P connectors into the hole in the driver side cowl area. (Fig. 2-7) 2P (White) Fig. 2-7 10P (Gray) WHITE Wire Terminal (1) Verify the connectors are plugged in securely. (m) Reconnect the vehicle harness white 12P connector and secure it to the vehicle harness using electrical tape. (Fig. 2-7) Tape Combination Connector Connector Block (n) Locate and disconnect the combination connector from the connector block in the driver side cowl area. (Fig. 2-8) 2P (White) WHITE Wire Terminal Fig. 2-8 Jeweler s Screwdriver 8P (White) Combination Connector (o) Using a small jeweler's screwdriver, release and pull out the white 8P connector from the combination connector. (Fig. 2-9) (1) Turn the connectors so the pins face you. Fig. 2-9 Page 8 of 22

Locate the WHITE wire in the 8P connector. Using the ECU pin remover tool or a small jeweler s screwdriver, release and pull out the terminal for the WHITE wire. (Fig. 2-10) (1) Do not pull out the retainer. (2) Turn the connector so the wires face you and the retainer is on top. (q) Insert the terminal at the end of the V5 harness' WHITE wire into the seventh space from the left of the 8P connector, then close the retainer. Refit the white 8P connector to the combination connector. (Fig. 2-11) (1) Turn the connector so the wires face you and the retainer is on top. (2) Verify the correct opening is chosen. (3) Verify the terminal is inserted and seated properly. The terminal should not come out when pulled lightly from the back. If the terminal comes off, then push it in again. (r) Disconnect the empty 2P female connector plugged into the V5 harness. Using a small jeweler's screwdriver, lift up the terminal retainer on the back of the empty 2P connector. (Fig. 2-12) (1) Do not pull out the retainer. Fig. 2-12 2P (Female) Retainer Fig. 2-13 Vehicle Harness' WHITE Wire Terminal Retainer 2P (Female) WHITE WIRE SIDE VIEW (s) Insert the terminal at the end of the vehicle harness' WHITE wire into the right side opening of the empty 2P connector as shown, then close the retainer. (Fig. 2-13) (1) Turn the connector so the wires face you and the tab is on top. (2) Verify the correct opening is chosen. (3) Verify the terminal is inserted and seated properly. The terminal should not come out when pulled lightly from the back. If the terminal comes off, then push it in again. Page 9 of 22

Combination Connector 2P (White) (t) Plug in the V5 harness' white 2P male connector to the white 2P female connector, and reconnect the combination connector. (Fig. 2-14) (1) Verify the connectors are plugged in securely. 10P (Gray) (u) Wrap the Gray 10P connectors in one small foam tape strip. (Fig. 2-14) Fig. 2-14 Small Foam Tape Strip 2P (White) Combination Connector (v) Secure the Gray 10P connectors to the vehicle harness using one medium wire tie. (Fig. 2-15) 10P (Gray) Medium Wire Ties (x2) (w) Bundle up the excess V5 harness, then using one medium wire tie, secure the 2P connectors and V5 harness as shown. (Step a) Fig. 3-1 Vehicle's Brace Brake Shaft (a) Attach two small foam tape strips to the vehicle's brace as shown. (Fig. 3-1) (1) Do not attach anything to the brake shaft. Grabber Tool (c) Route the V5 harness toward the center cluster area using the grabber tool. (Fig. 3-3) Fig. 3-3 Brake Shaft Grabber Tool (1) Insert the grabber tool from the center cluster area and push it toward the driver side upper brake shaft area. (2) Catch the V5 harness 10P connectors using the grabber tool, then pull it back toward the center cluster area. Tool (d) Secure the V5 harness relay to the vehicle brace with one large wire tie. (Fig. 3-5) (f) Secure the V5 harness to the vehicle harness with 3 large wire ties. (h) Connect the V5 black 4P connector to the Status monitor. (Fig. 3-7) (1) Verify the connectors are plugged in securely. (i) Push the Status Monitor into the open knock out location until it snaps in place. (Fig. 3-7) Fig. 3-7 (j) Pull the excess V5 harness back up into the center console as shown. (Fig. 3-8) Fig. 3-8 (k) Secure the to the Vehicle Harness using 1 large wire tie. (m) Connect the V5 black 4P connector to the Status monitor. (Fig. 3-11) (1) Verify the connectors are plugged in securely. (n) Push the Status Monitor into the open knock until it snaps in place. (Fig. 3-11) Fig. 3-11 (o) Pull the excess V5 harness back up into the center console as shown. (Fig. 3-12) Fig. 3-12 (p) Secure the to the Vehicle Harness using 1 large wire tie. 5. Warning Label Installation. For US Vehicles use the English Labels and Tag, and discard the Spanish Tags and Labels. For Mexico Vehicles use the Spanish Labels and Tag, and discard the English Tags and Labels. Clear Tape (a) Use Household Glass Cleaner to clean the inside of the Front Door Window. Molding Etching Etching (b) Use a piece of Clear Tape to lift the Label from its protective backing. CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface. (c) Attach the Label as shown. (a) Complete the reassembly of the vehicle. (1) Prior to replacing the radio assembly into the dash, cover the radio mounting tabs with a cloth to prevent damage to the vehicle. (2) Reconnect any disconnected connectors. (3) Verify the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps between them. (c) Reconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable. (Fig. 6-1) (1) Position the negative battery cable at the original factory position. (2) Tighten the nut to 48 in lbf (5.4 N m). CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal. (d) Place the owner's manual and warranty card left in their protective bags in the glove box.

Accessory Function Checks Perform 1 Press and release the remote control s lock button to start the system s arming process. Look For The turn signal lights flash once. All doors lock. The security LED lights up. 2 Wait 30 seconds. Security LED starts flashing; the system is now armed. 3 Press and release the remote control s unlock button to disarm the system. The turn signal lights flash twice. The driver s door unlocks. The Security LED stops flashing. Open the driver s door, insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to ON. Roll down all the windows, remove the key and exit the vehicle. 4 Arm and disarm the system with the remote again, then wait 30 seconds. 5 Press and release the remote control s unlock button again to stop the arming process. 6 Insert the key into the driver s door key cylinder and turn it toward the front of the vehicle to start the arming process. The doors automatically relock. The system automatically starts the arming process. Refer to step 3 All doors lock. The Security LED lights up. 7 Wait 30 seconds. Security LED starts flashing; the system is now armed. 8 Reach inside and manually unlock the driver s door to trigger an alarm. 9 Manually unlock the driver s door again and hold it unlocked, open the door, then sit in the driver s seat. 10 Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to START to stop the alarm. The driver s door automatically relocks. The horn sounds repeatedly. The headlights flash repeatedly. The turn signal lights flash repeatedly. The Security LED lights up. The driver s door lock attempts to lock repeatedly. The horn continues to sound repeatedly. The headlights and turn signal lights continue flashing. The Security LED remains on. The horn stops sounding. All the lights stop flashing and/or turn off. The Security LED turns off. The starter cranks and the engine starts. Turn the key back to LOCK, remove it, and then exit the vehicle. 11 With the door open, press the lock switch on the door to lock the doors, then close the door to start the system s arming process. All doors lock. The Security LED lights up. 12 Wait 30 seconds. Security LED starts flashing; the system is now armed. Page 19 of 22

(if available) 17 Press and release the remote control s unlock button to stop the alarm. 18 Repeat the above steps with the other rear passenger door. (if available) The front passenger s door automatically relocks. The horn sounds repeatedly. The headlights flash repeatedly. The turn signal lights flash repeatedly. The Security LED lights up. The horn stops sounding. All the lights stop flashing. The Security LED stops flashing. Refer to steps 1 and 2. Refer to step 13. Refer to Step 14 Refer to steps 1, 2, and 13. Roll up all windows, remove the key and exit the vehicle. 19 Press and release the remote control s lock button to start the arming process. Refer to step 1. 20 Wait 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, the Security LED starts flashing; the system is now armed. Perform the following check in a temperature-controlled environment. (50-90 F) 21 With the tip of a key, or Striker Tool pulled all the way out (PPO only), tap the center of the driver s door window to trigger the alarm. 22 Insert the key into the driver s door key cylinder and turn it toward the back of the vehicle to stop the alarm. The horn sounds repeatedly. The headlights flash repeatedly. The turn signal lights flash repeatedly. The Security LED lights up. Refer to Step 14 NOTE: If the alarm still does not trigger during the section test, increase the GBS sensitivity to the next setting and test again.
