Thanks to high-performance Dräger sensor technology, the 5820 satisfies the very highest standards in measurement precision, reliability and speed. The mandatory mouthpiece replacement can be interchanged easily and fast, even in the dark. DOT Devices 6820 In 49 CFR Part 40.213, Federal Regulations require that every person operating an Evidential Breath Tester for DOT purposes must be trained. What does the Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) training consist of? To become qualified as a BAT: The collector must be knowledgeable about Part 40 regulations and DOT agency regulations (applicable to the employers for whom you will perform alcohol tests), and keep current on any changes to these materials. The collector must also successfully complete a qualification training program (currently in process of making this available online) and pass a monitored proficiency demonstration, as required by DOT regulations [See 49 CFR Part 40.213(b)&(c)]. (must be in real time observance) Refresher training is required every 5 years.
