KONE EcoDisc for a green elevator The KONE MonoSpace elevator is powered by the KONE EcoDisc motor, KONE s award-winning hoisting invention. A reliable machine The KONE EcoDisc is a low revving gearless motor with extremely low levels of wear. It incorporates an axial perma nent magnet rotor that constitutes the single moving part. More efficient than traditional machines The KONE EcoDisc consumes less power and needs no oil. It is much safer in use; since the machine does not need oil, the risk of oil spill or fire is greatly reduced. The cost saver Significant cost savings are achieved by the use of lower duty risers and fuses, made possible by a peak starting current of just 30 to 40 percent of that of equivalent traction units. KONE MonoSpace: The original machine-room-less solution KONE MonoSpace elevators were first developed ten years ago, and since then more than 120,000 have been installed. These elevators are constantly being improved and modified, and offer many benefits. A space-saving elevator design Installing the machine into the elevator shaft makes for a very compact design. Ergonomic car operating panels KONE has worked closely with architects and designers to provide a wide choice of materials, colors, illumination and finishes to create a car interior in harmony with your building s ambiance. The ergonomic design of the car operating panels, hall lantern indicators and landing call stations make these panels and signals easy to read and easy to use. The car operating panels, with dot matrix floor position indicators, call buttons and other special function keys and buttons, are installed flush with the car s front or side wall. Door Open, Door Close and Alarm buttons are recessed into the panel. The interfaces for maintenance and rescue operations are concealed in a small cabinet, accessed through a vertical panel in the topmost landing door s façade.
