X-COM -SYSTEM Prevent mismating by coding groups with the same pole numbers. Simply test via slots for test plug (2 mm Ø + 2.3 mm Ø) in female plugs and carrier terminal blocks. Provide mechanical protection via: Locking levers Strain relief plates and Strain relief housings Use jumpers to common female plugs and carrier terminal blocks; select pole connections remain even after the plug has been pulled out. Clearly separate and form groups using orange end plates. IRIS Certified WAGO products for railway applications are developed according to the latest standards and guidelines. INSTALLATION MOUNTING CAGE CLAMP CONNECTION CAGE CLAMP CONNECTION Snap individual carrier terminal blocks onto the carrier rail and slide together. Carrier terminal block: Inserting/ removing a conductor via operating tool (3.5 x 0.5 mm blade). Female plug: Inserting/removing conductor. Operating at a 90 angle is also possible. CODING CODING TESTING Coding a female plug by removing coding finger(s). Do not remove the first and last coding fingers or use an an additional locking lever. Snapping a coding pin in the proper direction onto a carrier terminal block. Shown: Removing a coding pin from the carrier terminal block. Testing with 2 mm or 2.3 mm Ø test plugs (max. test voltage: 42 V). COMMONING COMMONING COMMONING Common carrier terminal blocks via adjacent and staggered jumpers. Use staggered jumpers for 2-conductor female plugs and miniature adjacent jumpers for 1-conductor female plugs. Commoning carrier terminal blocks with a push-in type wire, or an adjacent jumper over the end plate. Commoning supply terminal blocks (up to 10 mm 2 /8 AWG) with carrier terminal blocks via stepdown jumpers. LOCKING LEVER LOCKING LEVER REMOVAL Snapping in/removing locking lever. Securing female plug via locking lever on the terminal block side. When used as intended, female plugs shall not be connected/disconnected when live or under load. Open the assembly by laterally sliding a block via operating tool, then snap off terminal block from the rail. 7 7

INSTALLATION COMMONING Commoning X-COM S Terminal Blocks with TOPJOB S Jumpers: an end plate provides connection to TOPJOB S Terminal Blocks. 2020 and 2022 Series Terminal Blocks are combinable. Jumper slots are on the same level for both series. TOUCH-PROOF PROTECTION LOCKING LEVER LOCKING LEVER Carrier terminal blocks and female plugs are touch-proof. Slide the locking lever into position. Female plugs can be individually locked. CODING CODING TESTING Remove the coding finger using a cutting tool. Insert coding pin into the corresponding slot and twist it off. Test plug adapter for 4 mm test plugs or banana plugs also suitable for X-COM S-MINI Terminal Blocks. X-COM S-SYSTEM For Ex Applications X-COM S-SYSTEM is also available as an Ex variant. This variant is non-sparking ( na type of protection) and approved for use in Zone 2 hazardous areas. WAGO s pluggable rail-mounted terminal block system simplifies component replacement, minimizes the time and expense for system wiring, prevents wiring errors and ultimately reduces the downtime of sensitive equipment. It is the first system providing the Ex na protection type that can be used in hazardous areas. Complete modules can be easily and quickly exchanged, expensive on-site installations are no longer necessary it is a cost-saving and maintenance-friendly alternative. Ex sign and extended item number /0999-0953 are printed on the side of both carrier terminal blocks and female plugs with Ex approval. With a maximum conductor size of 2.5 mm² (14 AWG), they are designed for a nominal current of 20 A. Shorter locking levers (factory-mounted) make accidental disconnection more difficult, while providing additional safety. n refers to an ignition protection class in Zone 2: This zone covers areas in which a dangerous, explosive atmosphere consisting of gases, vapors or dust is unlikely to exist or will only persist for a short period if it does.
