Thank you for purchasing the GS109 brake module. Please review this manual before starting installation. Quick Installation Guide: 1. Make sure the brake lights are working properly before module installation. 2. Remove the seat and the body center cover to gain access to the brake light wiring harness. 3. With the ignition switch carefully cut about a 2.5 inch section of the harness cover to expose the brake light wires. 4. Attach the Black wire from the control module to one of the green ground wires using the included tap splice connector. 5. Cut the Green/Yellow brake signal wire and strip both ends back about 3/8 of an inch. 6. Use the included Lever-Nut to connect the RED wire from the control module to the Green/Yellow brake signal wire coming from the brake switch. Lift up orange lever and insert stripped end of wire. Snap orange lever down keeping fingers from underneath lever. 7. Use the included Lever-Nut to connect the WHITE wire from the control module to the remaining Green/Yellow wire that s going directly to the brake lamp. Lift up orange lever and insert stripped end of wire. Snap orange lever down keeping fingers from underneath lever. 8. Verify operation by turning the ignition switch and applying the brakes while monitoring the brake light. The brake light should flash several times (depending on dip switch settings) ending with a solid on condition until brakes are released. The onboard LED output indicator will follow this same sequence. 9. Adjust dip switches for the desired operation. Install dip switch cover. Place a wire tie though the hole on the tie mount that is on the back of the brake module and attach to the frame. Place a second wire tie around the module and frame to help secure the module. Make sure module does not interfere with seat. Keep module from rubbing against metal as this may cause damage to the module over time. 10. Install center cover and seat. Operation Once installed and brakes are applied the controller will flash the brake light/s multiple times and then it will hold the light/s on until the brakes are released. This flash and hold pattern (See Dip Switch Settings) will repeat every time the brakes are applied. 2 Stage Stop-n-Go Mode When enabled the Stop-n-Go mode will eliminate or reduce the number of flashes when the brakes are used in heavy traffic. Brakes are first applied = Normal flash and hold pattern. Stage -1 Brakes are released and applied again within 5 seconds = Light/s will go out when brakes are released and come on solid (no flash) when brakes are reapplied. Stage-2. Brakes are released and applied again between 5 and 15 seconds = Light/s will flash once and then hold until brakes are released. Brakes are released and then applied after 15 seconds = Normal flash and hold until brakes are released. Troubleshooting Symptom Brakes are applied - No onboard LED and no brake light operation. Brakes are applied Onboard LED flashes but no brake light. Solution Verify module red wire has 12vdc when brakes are applied. Verify module black wire is connected to bulb ground wire. Verify module white wire is connected to the brake light bulb. Check light bulb. Page 9 of 10
